What I want to see most in DA3, is another DA:O style game, one where you can choose out of three races and a background, but instead of having different origins, you're morrigans child with the spirit of the archdemon in it.

This is just what I wish for, I really want to see that furthered and maybe this child frees all mages and gives them their rights back and creates either a mage army and settles things peacefully, or creates a blood mage army and eradicates templars and hunts templars down like how they hunted apostates.

Just my wish. What do you think?

I dunno if it would be in DA3, but I guess it's a possibility for future DA titles, if they can some how make it canon without effecting everyone elses choices in past games regarding the dark ritual.

I'm not too crazy about the "hunting down templars" part since the end result will be a new Tevinter Imperium. I know mages are oppressed and everything, but I don't we should be rooting for them to become oppressors.

Your wish sounds nice but at the end of the day, a lot of people refused Morrigan's ritual. And Word of God confirms she didn't figure out another way of creating the God Child. No ritual, no OGB.

I think it's more likely to see "Morrigan's son" show up as a NPC at some point, or maybe a party member.

Yeah, I didn't really think about people not choosing the ritual... but maybe they could create a game like DA2 was and just plop you into it xD. But regardless, it's a very interesting story plot that I would enjoy seeing exploited. I mean come on! Video games are like comic books, you kill a character off, just to have to come back in some way, shape, or form. So they could come up with something like "Oh well..... Morrigan had relations with one of the other camp members and stole the Archdemon's soul anyways" I don't know how that would work too well, but hey, I'm no loremaster.

@thats1evildude,

Yeah I can see people not liking the whole hunting the templars down, but what I don't see in games these days is that you can never be an "evil" evil, it's always the "lawful" evil or just plain out goody goody, like no matter how hard you tried in Mass Effect, you'd still do the good thing in the end of the day, you were just a man with attitude problems while doing it, you couldn't make deals with enemies and fight on their side. If you could re-create the Tevinter Imperium that would be awesome. And I'm also quite aware that if you make a DA game, then you must have classes, so you could do the same thing with the templars if you decided to be a warrior or rogue (even a mage though it would be hard to side with templars). I really want to see this power struggle go to an all-out war, it would be VERY interesting, in my opinion.

No. I want to play as a PC of a variable race and background who is exceptional, but still a nobody.

The OGB is canonically male.

I have no *specific* wishes regarding what the story should be or how it should play out, since I kind of feel that the whole point is to enjoy someone ELSE's creation.

@wsandista,

I'm sure that would still be entirely plausible, I'm sure you would play/choose the same race as what you chose in DA:O, if not I'm sure you could/would have an option to negate or "change" the race of your DA:O character to match with the character of this (game idea) character.

But what would everyone else want as in terms of a story for DA3? Where would you want it to take place in? What time?

I for one, would love to see this Tevinter Empirium.

I agree with being able to choose your race but I disagree with not being able to choose an origin story (that was the best part of DA:O) and I strongly disagree with the god child in any way being made canon.

Edit:

In terms of what sort of story I'd like to see, I'm not sure what I'd want for DA3 but for a future game set in the DA universe I'd really like to see a game set in modern times, or rather a world resembling our modern world but there's still elves and dwarves and magic and the like.

The story would focus on the Grey Wardens, who still exist in the future, fighting a war against a new Blight (there's supposed to be 10 or so Blights, right? And the one in DA:O is only number 3 or 4?).

Obviously it wouldn't be called Dragon Age, it would be called Tech Age or something (presumably something less lame sounding than Tech Age), but it would be set within the same universe. I'd also like to see other "Age" games such as one set in the past during the Tevinter Imperium or one set in the distant future when there's space travel and the like.

Maybe it's just me but I've always had an interest in the future of these sword and sorcery type fantasy worlds. These worlds are almost always set in a sort of medieval setting, which is cool, but I'd like to see what happens to that world when they start developing technologies and the like. One of the reasons I love Fable 2 and 3 is because they explore this concept.

Where did you hear/read this? Mind sharing a link?, I've always wondered this but never came across anything.

@Direwolf0294,

Interesting concept, I agree with visiting the Tevinter Imperium, It still existed during Dragon Age: Origins, though it lacked in power and influence, they were "building forces to start a new campaign for dominance in Ferelden" if I recall correctly.

Rather than just jumping straight to the future thought, how about Bioware makes roughly 6 or 7 more DA games where we get to kill each dragon, lol. But yes, I think its an interesting concept, though it kind of differs from my view of how I expect a DA game to be. But it is something I could probably get used to.

I loved Fable 2 & 3 also, and I did love that, but it kind of works better in that... I have the feeling that DA will be one of those universes where no matter how far they get into the future, there will always be swords, shields, armor, and campfires... no technology. Although, crossbows are present in it, which is a sign of evolution, right? But again, I feel like if it went to "the future" it would end up being called Mass Effect.

This. Besides, I'm kind of hoping they do something like ME where this choice changes things in a future game, like you get a bad ending one of these games if the OGB never happened but you get a good ending if they were. Or the opposite where the baby existing causes a bad ending. There are a few interesting things they could do with that choice.

Race option is a definite must for the next game.  Origins spoiled us.  As far as the OGB, the Witch Hunt confirm it has been born and it is a male with a destiny.  It'll probably play out like Mass Effect did whereas you have a very important character that got killed of in the previous game, but they write in that characters important role in that story with someone else; like Tali with Admiral whatsherface?,  or Wrex with his brother, or Legion with another Legion like Legion.....so the OGB will be part of the future series,.....could be just a small part in this one as I see when they wait for DA4 for the next gen consoles where the previous games' decisions won't be trasferred over...so in a sense the DA series ends up being a trilogy by circumstance.

I don't really care about who the protagonist is. I kind of think it would be cool to start out as a Seeker, as long as I have the opportunity to change "my" beliefs and turn against them.

I want further exploration of red lyrium and its effects.

I want to know where the Qunari really come from.

I want to explore multiple countries.

I want to know about the Fex.

I want to know about Rivaini Seers.

I want to know more about the Fog Warriors and other groups in Thedas that have not had much development.

I want to learn more about the true history of Thedas, not just the myths of the Chantry and The Elves.

I don't mind what the story for Dragon Age 3 will be, as long as I'm not forced to pick a side.

I think they could work something out like for the people who chose the romance option with Morrigan and the dark ritual. They could have slightly varying dialogue options for him, a few different powers, and an origin story of its own. It could pop up as the "God Child" origin or something, you know, as a little gift to the people who chose it and would like to see that exploited. Or he could just "be" if you didn't choose it. I think it would be very interesting.

I want to delve more into Tevinter though, and tensions between elves and humans breaking into a war.

I would also like to see mage rebellions agains the chantry and templars.

I would also like to see the Tevinter Imperium grow in strength again and go back to worshipping the old gods and using blood magic, perhaps if a game was based around this you could be the cause of it?
