As I stated before I just think bioware should make & release a pack that will randomly award 1 of the races to everyone before the event starts. This would solve all the problems and allow everyone a fair chance.

Even if you can't get your squad goal, you can still participate for the community goal. Sure, it sucks that you'll only get your one victory pack, but it's better than nothing.

What is BS is not being able to play because we haven't gotten lucky with the random store. 

The Krogan was a day one character.  No one loses anything if they make it available so everyone can play in the event this weekend.

Why is it BS? because you dont get much benefit from it? Pretty selfish over a game if you ask me.

Agree about the last idea but you miss the point totally with your first paragraph.

In every online game with unlockables, progression and ranks some commitment is mandatory. If we join any online mainstream game now (Halo, CoD, BF3, whatever) with our bare, nude level one characters everybody will steamroll us with their shinny toys, perks and stuff.

They are not requesting something insane: "everybody must wield a Black Widow X or get the hell out of here, rookies!", we need just one damn krogan, a day one race. I sympathize with the OP struggle but he has terrible luck or he doesn't buy enough spectre packs if three months later he still didn't get a krogan.

The squad goal is indicative of what happens when some people complain too much - obviously all this OP talk and complains about people playing certain races/characters more has led to... Operation Savage! Where BW is trying to encourage more people to try out playing certain races/characters, but the poor folks who haven't unlocked any of these are just plain SOL.

That they allow for this on all difficulty levels including Bronze indicates no malicious intent to leave anyone out, but in the grand scheme of unintended consequences, some people really need to luck out in the store really soon or miss out.

I don't think there will be as much kicking as you think. Once I get a few extractions I won't care what people play. I doubt I'm the only one who feels his way.

I would say I have terrible luck.  By no means do I have all of the characters but those three, I am still missing a lot, but I play when I can and am dedicated.  I have 7 or so levels in N7 weapons because I have actively particpated in all of the challenges so far.  I would say that shows a fair level of dedication. As much as someone with limited time can, I would say.

I don't want a weekend off.  Playing this is how I relax.  I greatly enjoy it. 

I can't do it on Bronze.  The ENTIRE TEAM needs to be one of these three races.  I can't do it even once, and any team trying to do it will kick me immediately. 

I'm not saying for you to do it on bronze, I'm saying it will be easy, so people will deal with it fast and go back to normal game, with any race. You will be able to play, this won't be a problem. You just won't win the pack, but we can't ignore a fact, if you can't play too much, don't matter for what reason, you won't have everything, you won't participate in everything, Bioware can't guarantee that. Someone that play more will have more, and will do more, it's a unfair fact, but a fact.

 I think they was nice enough to let us do it on bronze. Again, would be a good idea to give one pack with this chars, so who don't have it can participate, but the absense of it don't make the goal terrible..

I'd be screwed if Drell was the required race, since I STILL don't have one even though I have many rare characters and every other uncommon.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal though. You only have to do it once to get the reward. Get it under your belt and don't worry about what class other people are playing. That being said, it would have been a better idea to limit it to say, Silver, so people still have places to go without having to worry about jerk players going on kickfests.

Making the challenge a Gold challenge is one thing.  Then the challenge is based on skill.  This is a challenge based on possessions.  It's like school kids ostracizing another kid because he has the wrong brand of action figure.

I have all the races and I still think it's crap. BW should at least make one unlockable for those who don't have it, even if only temporary. Why in the world would they literally prevent some users from being able to achieve the goal?

There's a difference between being rewarded for skill and luck. With gold extractions it was 'you are good enough, so you get an extra reward' with character cards it's 'we think that you need to be punished for not getting a certain card'

or: when it was gold, everyone could still try for the commendation. now it's arbitraryily decided who's eligable

OP, I checked your manifest. Your luck is very strange... you got 5 Rebellion character cards, and none of them are Vorcha; and you got 5 Resurgence cards, and none of them are Batarians

Yes.  Of course kids do that.  Adults and what is supposed to be a cooperative gaming community should not.  That is my point.
