Making the challenge a Gold challenge is one thing.  Then the challenge is based on skill.  This is a challenge based on possessions.  It's like school kids ostracizing another kid because he has the wrong brand of action figure.

Yes.  Of course kids do that.  Adults and what is supposed to be a cooperative gaming community should not.  That is my point.

I also feel bad however for the people who have the black hole glitch that is over 3 months old and still not fixed, two of my friends have come down with this, this week. There is a fellow who wrote a program to delete the corrupted files from your gammer tag but my friends are not computer savvy and are afraid to try it. By reading the internet thie effects a fairly large group also.

I wish I could give you some of mine. It seems I get nothing but character cards.
However, this ain't a toddlers birthday party where everyone gets to go home with a prize. It's only Tuesday ... Play more. Buy some PSPs. Otherwise contribute for the community goal and earn credits while doing it to buy some packs and try to get one of the 3 classes. You have until Monday morning.

I have been playing this regularly since day one.  I have a decent manifest.  No one would be hurt by making the Krogan, a day one character, available to everyone.  There is not a limited amount of Krogans available.  My having one in now way diminishes your enjoyment of the character.

I have an idea. When you get time this weekend, trying playing multi. If you get games, you get games. If you get kicked, you get kicked. This is just a short, weekend long event that'll be over before you realize it. If for some reason you can't get a game this weekend, then DON'T PLAY THE DAMN GAME. You're getting upset here over an optional event for no real good reason and you're wasting Internet space with all this.

Who doesn't at least have one of the krogan characters? Sure they're all Rare characters, but unless you never buy Veteran or Spectre Packs, you're bound to unlock at least one of them. It took me a long time to get my krogan characters (they were the last of my original characters to be unlocked), but I did get them eventually. And the Resurgence Characters took awhile to collect, but I've got them all now. I even have one of the vorcha. And I'm not chained to my XBox by any means. I guess if you've only recently started playing MP, you'd have difficulty, but I suggest playing lots of Silver in the meantime, and buying lots of Veteran Packs and Spectre Packs.

What I have learned from this thread is that many people are extremely mean to their fellow players. Since when did being lucky at the casino mean anything? The guy has two jobs and a family. What can he do?

Everyone who is like "tough luck bro" are probably parasites in real life too.

OP: if I could give you some of my many Krogans, I would. BioWare, let me do it!

Agree about the last idea but you miss the point totally with your first paragraph.

In every online game with unlockables, progression and ranks some commitment is mandatory. If we join any online mainstream game now (Halo, CoD, BF3, whatever) with our bare, nude level one characters everybody will steamroll us with their shinny toys, perks and stuff.

They are not requesting something insane: "everybody must wield a Black Widow X or get the hell out of here, rookies!", we need just one damn krogan, a day one race. I sympathize with the OP struggle but he has terrible luck or he doesn't buy enough spectre packs if three months later he still didn't get a krogan.

I disagree because my first paragraph is completely based around the premise even bioware has stated countless times through their forum posts. This is a game primarily meant for their fans to have fun with. I reiterate, this game is meant for fun just as all games are meant for. Some of you people really take the concept of gaming out of their intended proportions.

Anyway, even if those other games are the way you say, I highly doubt that even if you do get steamrolled you get completely restricted from participating.

The gold squad goal is a test of skill.  This is a test of dumb, random luck.  People should not be prevented from playing because they have not gotten specific things from a store that assigns them completely randomly.

and a test of skill playing on gold gets more credits thus getting more characters

you only need to do it once. form my experiance most people will get it knocked out of the way friday and then play as normal the rest of the weekend. I doubt you get kicked for not having one much. try and save up for some PSPs so you can hopefully unlock one

Thanks for the support.  I can't believe the resistance to the idea of giving a Krogan to peiople who don't have one yet.  Others being able to enjoy the character in now way diminishes other's enjoyment.  It isn't a limited resource.

Yes luck is involved but also a lot of work for people who are unlucky.  I have my characters because of hard work.  If people have things missing from their manifest they are either new or play very little.  Look at how many threads there are complaining about too many character cards and now we shoud compain about people who have bought 50 specter packs not having 1 out 6 characters?  It's because you have not dedicated the time to unlock things in the game.  Yes there are times when a certain item is illusive in the store but you only have to get 1 of the 6.  If you have been playing since launch there is no excuse.  To new people it is a litte unfair.... however they are giving away 2 N7s a week.  I remember when I used to get useless stuff in my victory pack.  Maybe I shoud complain about my first 5 victory packs not containing a n7 weapon.... it's not fair after all

Obvious "fix" for this is to quickly introduce a cheap pack, that quarantees one character card of said races.

Yeah, there is an excuse.  It is called adult responsibilities and an inability to play the game for hours at a time.

I think that the rate of drops for krogan, vorcha and batarian characters should be increased over the weekend. If people don't have these characters, they should have a better chance of getting them. And it's not like we're going to see a permanent increase in the number of players who utilize these characters. There's a reason they're trotting out this event goal, to try to get more people to play these characters. Obviously everyone is playing geth, and they're trying to introduce some variety to the experience.
