I am sorry if this is going to sound harsh but if you don't have a krogan by now it only means that you don't play the game enough, your right to complain about this issue is slim.
You should seriously familiarize yourself with the concept of a random drop system.

This is also good for Bioware. People start buying packs with real money to try and find one of the new races. Mircotransactions. Microtransactions everywhere.
Luckily I have every single class save the MQE and both Vorcha, so I'm not worried.
I believe another squad goal recently was similar, where you had to complete a game as a rebellion character. I don't recall people whining then. While, yeah, you need a WHOLE team of a specific set of races now, it still requires YOU to have a specific race, just like two weeks ago. Only difference is you have to depend on others more.
After I finish with my Kroguard, I'll switch to my usual classes, Geth Engie, Cerberus Adept, Quarian Male Infiltrator, etc. If I get kicked, no big deal, eventually I'll find more competent players.

And you with the concept of merit. Play the game and use those well earned credits and the random and "trolling" drop system will give up sooner or later.

It's a great goal and all the same time a hard one. Any difficulty, easy. A whole team of a very specific race, not so easy.

There were no complaints last time because YOU didn't have to have one of the new characters to win the goal. As long as SOMEONE on your team did, you got the completion. This time, if you were unlucky enough never to unlock a Krogan, Batarian or Vorcha (like many new players probably haven't), then you're screwed. No chance of the Squad goal at all.

That's a bit like saying putting all of your money into a slot machine will make it give you a massive win sooner or later. Oh dear, looks like you won't be buying any food this week. I can't see how anyone sticks up for a system like this.LoboFH wrote...

Actually, the last operation only required ONE squadmate be a Rebellion character (not you yourself). So, those who didn't have one just needed to find a room with one and, as long as somebody extracted on silver, they ALL got commendation packs.
People did whine about it, and I even started a thread listing volunteers with Rebellion characters so people without one could hook up with a Rebellion squadmate and get their commendation pack.
This weekend truly is the first one that will actually exclude anyone who has not gotten one of those three races.
Just to clarify.

Indeed, and what's more is that a lot of people will be kicking any non qualifying characters from lobbies so those who don't have a qualifying character will be hard pressed to even take part in the community goal.

Not everybody was capable of completing earlier squad goals, because they didn't have the skill to complete Gold, or the time to level up numerous characters. So they had the less challenging, less rewarding secondary goal, so everybody can play ball.
As for your worries concerning getting kicked constantly this weekend... I'd like to think some of the more mature players that want a krogan/vorcha orgy will exercise restraint on the old 'kicker' if possible, leaving the lobby themselves to find a new lobby that's going for the squad goal. Otherwise, we can always handle ourselves like gentle(wo)men, and use the mic to explain why your salarian is probably not suited to this particular mission.
I'm perhaps asking too much on the second point, however.

Hey, you only have to extract with an all Krogan/Vorcha/Batarian squad once. After that it's all about killing the peons. I for one will be open to any squad makeup people want to bring once I have my one extraction. Anyone who plans on kicking players all weekend long... well, my thoughts on that aren't complementary, so I'll leave it at that.

BioWare is actively discouraging people from playing if they haven't been lucky enough to unlock one of these characters? I have been playing regularly since the game came out in what little free time I have. I was a day 1 purchase of Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3.
These weekends are encourage players to play. There is an Allied Goal too. Sure it is nice to get both goals but the squad goal is not always suppose to be met. There is a possibility that the packs will have an increased chance to get one of the possible characters to use.

The complaint is related to the topic, so I'm not derailing anything. I have been playing the game. I still don't even have any Rebellion characters yet, despite buying a numerous amount of Spectre and Veteran packs. They should, at the very least, increase the likeliness of getting these characters during this week. I think everyone can agree that this is a reasonable request.LoboFH wrote...

And by the way. You had enough time from game release until now to unlock a krogan, vorcha, or batarian. It isn't thard hard. Krogans are for me the cards I pull the most out of my packs. Just stop buying these stupid low tier packages. We had enough time to get krogans.

Same here. I will probably run my Krogan Soldier all weekend long, but once I have my squad goal completed, I won't vote to kick any non-"savages". Although, I will likely bounce from lobby to lobby after every game hoping to help out fellow "savages" trying to complete the squad goal. But yeah, after my squad goal completion, it's all about mook-killin'.

OR Bioware will fail to let the multiplayer evolve, and we'll still be doing the same missions in two months. Hard to say.

You may as well complain that you have to WIN a map to get it, too, because how do they know you're even capable of such a thing!?

They're not up to the challenge and are going to, instead, waste time crying in a thread pathetically.

Thinking about it, the longer these events go on, the more likely they will be orientated towards the more hardcore players that stick with the game. The longer the game is out, it would make sense for the team that designs these events to increase the difficulty (or in this case the luck/credits required) to reflect how the playerbase are steadily improving and filling up their manifest, whilst still setting the bar of the community goal reasonably low for newbies.
OR Bioware will fail to let the multiplayer evolve, and we'll still be doing the same missions in two months. Hard to say.
I've been playing for what? 2 weeks and I have two of the characters -- lucky for me. My point, though, is that I'd scarcely qualify as hardcore . . . just lucky.

7 of the 18 "rare" characters are part of this operation. That's almost half. Your chances of getting one with regular gameplay are incredibly high. This thread originates from somebody who obviously doesn't play with any regularity and spends more time on the forums than in the game.
