Just spend $20 on the game and it should be enough to net you one of the classes. Either that or play. It's really not that hard.

I'm sorry, but if you don't have at least one of the six classes that can be used for this goal, you really need to play more. Honestly I can't even begin to comprehend how someone could have none of these classes, unless they just started playing a day or two ago. I get at least one of them on a daily basis.

This is also good for Bioware. People start buying packs with real money to try and find one of the new races. Mircotransactions. Microtransactions everywhere.

I believe another squad goal recently was similar, where you had to complete a game as a rebellion character. I don't recall people whining then. While, yeah, you need a WHOLE team of a specific set of races now, it still requires YOU to have a specific race, just like two weeks ago. Only difference is you have to depend on others more.

After I finish with my Kroguard, I'll switch to my usual classes, Geth Engie, Cerberus Adept, Quarian Male Infiltrator, etc. If I get kicked, no big deal, eventually I'll find more competent players.

Actually, the last operation only required ONE squadmate be a Rebellion character (not you yourself). So, those who didn't have one just needed to find a room with one and, as long as somebody extracted on silver, they ALL got commendation packs.

People did whine about it, and I even started a thread listing volunteers with Rebellion characters so people without one could hook up with a Rebellion squadmate and get their commendation pack.

This weekend truly is the first one that will actually exclude anyone who has not gotten one of those three races.

Case in point. I just spent 3 hours playing. I bought 3 PSPs, and got 5 rare weapons, which isn't bad, but there are ones I never use, and a Cerberus adapt, which I already had. When the requirement for completing an objective is to have a character that is given out at random and you cant get that character after spending almost 400k points the system is broken and the squad goal is terrible.

For those who doubt my playing, look at my manifest. It is by no means complete, but it shows a level of commitment.  I have unlocked a fair number of rares, and several of the DLC characters multiple times. I just haven't gotten one of the required races because it is completely random and I seem to have bad luck. I have 7 N7 weapon points. I've participated in every challenge. I shouldn't not be able to complete a squad goal because I haven't randomly gotten one of these characters.

I didn't have a krogan until nearly 300 hours of gameplay, I just got a vorcha today and a batarian last week after  ~150 hours of gameplay post rebellion. It happens more than you would think. The group of friends that I play with have yet to get batarians or vorcha or krogan, and they play about half as much as I do - which is almost 250 hours sunk in. 

The store is a slot machine, your experiences with it could be completely different than his. He might not have nearly as many hours played as Me or an average player, and thus not nearly as many packs bought. But he should still have the opportunity to compete.

Random store is random, your experiences with it are most likely very different from others.

Looked at your manifest and I can see that you have been a little unlucky re character cards.

I am sure that you will unlock at least 1 in the next couple of SPs and may be worth gambling on a PSP.
If you do unlock a character but then get kicked trying to level it up then you are welcome to join me and friends on gold and we will help you level up asap.  ID  bondiboy

Yeah I looked at your mainfiest too. And I am kinda jelly on a few of the things you actually do have. 

But yeah the thing with the characters is crazy.  I mean out of seven characters needed for this event you haven't even gotten one?  That's kinda crap.  but I don't think anyone would could really doubt your commitement to be honest. 

Just keep working for those Spectre and PSP packs.  Trust it, I wish there were a better way too.

Bw should giveaway a free pack containing one of the required chars to everyone....
Of course pretty meaningless for those who already unlock all the chars and appearance but
at least everyone gets to participate to get the comm pack

Hmm, Actually I don't understand why BW would relese this kind of event except for some cash grab from packs. However, Krogans/Vorchas/Batarians are not exceptionally hard to unlock through grinding some silver match.

Good luck trying to unlock those three, I hope I'll see you this weekend.

Seeing as PS3 players who couldn't participate in the first few Operations got all of the commendation packs for free, you could probably complain you couldn't participate and get the commendation pack for free.

Ohh come on! I have a job, wife, a small kid and still have time to play. I play from the beginning and I already promoted the vanguards once because the krogan battlemasters cards i get from psp-s.

It's just going to be a melee fest in silver. I think gold games will be unaffected. I can't figure out how to kick ass as those classes in gold so.... I'll drop down to silver.

Ok, I know this might sound a bit harsh towards the OP (no, I dont think he is a whiner, just terribly unlucky), but its Biowares game so its Biowares rules. This weekend you will probably (if you dont get lucky until the event ends) not achieve the squad goal. Thats it. The harsh truth. I know, its a free pack with N7 weapon, but face it. There will be other events in the future, so missing only half of this one might not be the total catastrophe you make it sound.
Oh, and no, I dont think this event is aimed specificly against you (as your first post hints).

Seriously speaking, its just an additional thing that gives you a freebie. I'm sorry that you're unlucky and can't participate in this week's challenge. But there have been other challenges I couldn't take part in because of RL commitments.

I mean, it's a bonus. It's not a privilege that Bioware has to give us. It's good enough that we get the challenge weekends and all these bonus weapons. Once in a while we don't complete the challenge or can't participate or whatever and life goes on.

There's always the next challenge.

P.S. Unless of course Bioware keeps up with this pattern of challenge, in which case there is a legitimate cause for complaint.
