They confirmed that last week was the only week to have a twofer until further notice.
What surprises me is that people thought the twofer was going to be the norm.
It really shouldn't be that surprising that people thought the N7 weapons in victory packs was going to be a thing. But anyway I guess now we can go back to not giving a flying fruit basket about the allied goals. At least they picked a reasonable number for this one though so we probably won't see a repeat of OP silencer and we'll all still get our crappier JEP's

Otherwise, everybody would soon have Valiant X and Hurricane X and there would be some balance problems.
The only balance problems are the ones people concoct in their heads!
But making N7 weapons harder to obtain does keep their appeal up. I'm already behind a couple compared to those that started playing earlier so it incentivizes me to continue playing for them.

I think you're using some bad math there. If both packs include N7 weapons every event that would be, in effect, one N7 weapon per week. Thus, even starting just from today's event it would be possible (though highly unlikely) for someone to max a weapon in 10 weeks. Even at the 1-per-event rate, it would be 20 weeks.saxybeast418 wrote...

This is probably best this way. Otherwise, everybody would soon have Valiant X and Hurricane X and there would be some balance problems. Might still get to that point eventually, just at a slower pace. Even so, most of the N7's are useable at Level I, so it's not that bad.
As it stands, if Bioware were to continue giving out N7's in Victory packs, the earliest anyone could get those 4 weapons to level X (at least legitimately) would be February.
Sure, some lucky people would end up with Hurricane or Valient at X within the next few months, but it would still take a while even with up to 2 N7's per week. Now, it's going to take so long that I start to have doubts as to whether or not the multiplayer will still be around for 32 more events.
Whoops, I mistyped, It's 2 N7 weapons per two weeks. It still ends up in early February when we would have theoretically been able to get all four up to level X.
(Yes, I did count this out :-P)

It would take 6 months.

They're not really equivelant to recruit packs, they're actually worse jumbo equip. packs. I wholeheartedly agree that we should protest the lack of N7's in our victory packs though.BuckshotSamurai wrote...
Everyone should just play long enough to get the Squad Goal, then stop playing until the challenge is over in protest of this crap. If I want a Recruit pack, I'll just buy a couple for 5k instead of working my ass off all weekend for a "free" Recruit pack.

They should just make the victory pack equivalent to a spectre pack and be done with it.

And I misread your post anyway as I thought it was referring to a single weapon.saxybeast418 wrote...

Regardless, I don't think it's a big deal for players who would actually care about having level X N7 weapons, meaning those who play a lot. All but one (from what I read here about the Eagle; I've dodged that bullet so far) are effective right from level I and there are still ultra-rares for most of us (those who don't play 24/7 or spend lots of money) to chase. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Hurricane X, but if I never do that's not going to sour me on the game.
What does sour me a bit on Bioware's handling of this game is if they set event goals that certain players simply cannot achieve without spending money on a lot of packs. A person buying the game fresh or just starting out on multiplayer cannot meet this weekend's squad goal unless they get a lucky rare. Denying those folks a shot at one of the N7 weapons seems really dumb.
In other words, I'd find it perfectly acceptable if each player was guaranteed one N7 for completing either of the goals this weekend, while it's only kind of annoying that I could only get one.

Just my $0.02. I've gotten three Crusaders, three Eagles, and one Hurricane. I'd like more opportunities for worthwhile equipment.
