And I really don't get people complaining about getting upgrades for the N7 weapons at a faster pace. If most everyone is getting them it's still balanced, and at the rate of one every 2 weeks are people seriously saying they're going to still give a stuff about the game this much in over a years time?
Cripes, let's just get everything maxed out as quick as possible, and enjoy it while it's still fun, not whinge about things being too good and enjoyable.

Yay!
I am glad that they won't have the N7 weapon. I don't like that everyone gets an N7 weapon even if they didn't participate. I still think they should introduce a 3rd goal which would give you another N7 weapon....Personal Goal.
I agree i was in a gold lobby and a random N7 36 enters with a Eagle I thinking he's well equipped for gold

Well that royally sucks, guess I'll just do one match on bronze with a Kroguard and play Dead Space 2 this weekend instead.

I personally don't get people complaining about 1 every 2 weeks for meeting an easy challenge

Well, the thing is... There are 40 levels of weapons to gather. With 1 per 2 weeks, it takes over a year and a half to max them all. Even at 2 per week, it takes 5 months(!) to max all of them. With the number of people getting bored at the game, just waiting for something else to play, are you really expecting the game mode to maintain its attraction for ~68 more weeks? Or 48? At what point do you think they will just quit making new DLCs? Imagine having played the game for 20 weeks, when they announce "no further DLC", and you still might not have the weapon you want at all. No, even if everything else I say is just foolish ranting, expecting a game that does not reinvent itself at all to survive for 80 weeks just is not feasible.
I want to get Valiant from this weekend. I expected victory to contain a N7 so i have better chance to getting it and filling my collection. If i dont't get it in this or the next event I will stop playing untill the next DLC...

Because it will take longer to max all the weapons than the ME3 MP servers will be in service.

I think you're using some bad math there. If both packs include N7 weapons every event that would be, in effect, one N7 weapon per week. Thus, even starting just from today's event it would be possible (though highly unlikely) for someone to max a weapon in 10 weeks. Even at the 1-per-event rate, it would be 20 weeks.saxybeast418 wrote...

This is probably best this way. Otherwise, everybody would soon have Valiant X and Hurricane X and there would be some balance problems. Might still get to that point eventually, just at a slower pace. Even so, most of the N7's are useable at Level I, so it's not that bad.
As it stands, if Bioware were to continue giving out N7's in Victory packs, the earliest anyone could get those 4 weapons to level X (at least legitimately) would be February.
Sure, some lucky people would end up with Hurricane or Valient at X within the next few months, but it would still take a while even with up to 2 N7's per week. Now, it's going to take so long that I start to have doubts as to whether or not the multiplayer will still be around for 32 more events.
Whoops, I mistyped, It's 2 N7 weapons per two weeks. It still ends up in early February when we would have theoretically been able to get all four up to level X.
(Yes, I did count this out :-P)
Barring something unexpected from BW, come September, a good majority will be playing something else anyway......coughBL2cough.

its still gonna have a gold in it guys
I dont know about you, but i dont feel like spending a weekend farming Bronze or Silver difficulty for being rewarded with what i can also get from 1 gold match.
I was really looking forward to rounding up 3 friends and spreading some Krogan Love, but i guess i'll leave achiveing the allied goal in the able hands of the remainder of the community.

It's a question of effort. Yeah, it's great that this week's squad challenge is cake, likely accomplished in less than 30 minutes including setup time. But then you've got the allied goal. Now, how much effort do you really think people with all their rares maxed are likely to put in if the reward upon completion is a a gold character card with 250,000 xp on it that they could have gotten by playing a single gold match? In fact, such a player would get a lot more xp given the likelihood that the spectre pack they might buy with the credits gained in that single gold match has a gold in it too.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...

On a normal day, I might choose to read a book, watch TV, go for a walk, visit my mom, etc. instead of playing ME3 multiplayer. On most days I end up doing a bit of 3 of those and try to visit my mom at least once a week. A challenge weekend should make me want to play ME3 more, but if the reward is anemic then I'm not going to be any more likely to play than on a normal day.

"Easily"? If there is an operation every week, and you get 2 promotional weapons every operation, you'll still need to play the game for 5 months. Make that 1 operation per 2 weeks, and it's 10 months. Make that 1 weapon per 2 weeks, and it's 20 months. And that's discounting the fact that there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to increase your chances of getting the weapon you really want. You tell me if you've ever played a game for 5 months, and still being unable to complete what you'd like to, not because you're not good enough, not because your friends are good enough, but just because you have bad luck.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...
It doesn't literally have to be getting the weapons to X. I just think that making the N7s so easily obtainable and upgradable would be bad for the game.

I sent Chris Priestly a PM asking if this week's Victory Pack would contain an N7 weapon like Operation Mastiff's Victory Pack did (assuming that we meet the goal, of course).
He quickly responded and said that unfortunately, this week's Victory Pack will not contain an N7 weapon.
I was inclined to believe that Operation Mastiff's Victory Pack would become the norm. This latest development is disappointing to say the least.
To everyone else who made this assumption, I feel your pain.
It probably goes without saying, but the Commendation Packs will still include a random N7 weapon like they usually do.
Perhaps they will still be more like a PSP than an JEP though. Fingers crossed

That's not my point. I'm arguing that there SHOULD be a challenge involved in unlocking the weapons. There are weapons that you can unlock the more you play and that's the Ultra-Rares. The precedent for N7 weapons is that you can get them every two weeks by completing a challenge. Again, I have no problem with 2 N7s every week if at least one of the challenges is difficult. The challenge two weeks ago was a giveaway. What allure do the weapons have if everyone can access them by completing some easy challenge?

You'll fight the same number of mooks regardless.
No, I most definitely won't. I'll do a solo run with my Kroguard and then go play something else.
Are you really going to reduce the number of games you play / Would you have really increased the number of games you play if there were an N7 in the victory pack?
Yes, and yes. At least there'd be something in it for me for my effort.

Sorry, but if you want to use a Valiant X, you'll have to invest some credits in the single player.

what balance problems. they are meant to be maxed if not it is of no sense to have them
As good as they are at Level I, it seems like they'd clearly dominate all other weapons at X.
Ridiculous assumption. While they'll obviously be better at X, none of them are significantly better than the other weapons. The difference in effectiveness is minimal with leveling for most weapons (against a boss enemy, it might take three more seconds of using the weapon at I to kill than at X, with most weapons), the most significant advantage from leveling is the weight decrease.
