By the op's logic wouldn't battlefield 3 have killed mass effect 3 before it even came out?

I play both but I'm sure as hell not buying that CoD dlc bf3 just released.

Other than that I just see garbage on the upcoming releases....except for AC III.
Gonna love killin' me some redcoats.

Diablo 3 is still great

That's not the general consensus that I'm seeing after the latest patch...

personally i want: New enemy types, objectives longer rounds maybe 15 waves, and a platinum difficulty.

so whats it gonna take to keep everyone on mass effect 3 multiplayer, and what games or dlc will draw you away?

yes, no, indifferent

first and foremost, more game types. i'm good for now, but it's fleeting, i can tell. there really aren't that many games coming out this year explicitly, but i'm going to play more gears of war 3 (giving it a second chance, if the online is still **** quality, it's shelved), bayonetta (non-stop infinite climax difficulty, **** yes), ff13-2, and i'll get someone to give me a scroll of ressurection for wow so i can see if it's any better or worse (good for a week of game time, but a free upgrade to cata just before MoP is reason enough for me). oh, and hat fortress 2.

The SPAS is totally worth it though.

a million people told the same about world of warcraft, and there they are still paying every month for it.
A LOT of persons belive they have the gift to know what will happen, but there are really really few with that gift.

Until the servers are shut down for good, ME3 multiplayer will never truly be "dead."

people who say ME3 will never die r kidding them selves. in my heart its all ready dead. hell i have not played for 5 days now. doubt the the weekend events will pull me back. Other people are just going out more sliently then me. i still look at the forums, but ill soon quit them too. BW killed the SP replay value and certain aspects of MP are causing the slow death of the rest of the game......

Time will eventually kill everything.

The ME3 MP was still a massive success however. The fact that we're comparing it to games like Battlfield 3, Diablo 3, or Borderlands 2 that were designed specifically to be multiplayer games is evidence of that.

Almost nobody has a game they play consistantly forever. They may come back to it every so often like I do for Half-Life, but they aren't playing it all the time forever.

THIS

I don't think any company other than MMOs actually expect their game to be constantly played...The more common expectation is that a MP segment will hold people's interest for a few more weeks after the initial purchase....

Honestly, compared to say Assassin's Creed II or Bioshock 2 (which are much better comparisons - games primarily known for their single player), ME3 Galaxy at War has been a massive success...

Man, every time something new is on the horizon, this. . .

It IS possible to actively play and enjoy more than one game you know? Or is this just typical ME3 malcontent rearing its ugly head again?

Yea I suppose I'll end up getting premium eventually.

I had bought back to karkand already and close quarters doesn't interest me so it's not really the best deal.

They need to put it on sale for $40 and I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I've logged a grand total of 3-4 hours in ME3's Single player campaign. It's the Multiplayer that keeps the disk in the tray for me.
It has its luls and its moments, and like every other multiplayer game, it will one day die out sadly. BUT that's to the games peer to peer nature I can pop in the disk and play with some friends years down the road or even jump in and play by myself.

I have a contingency plan already in motion: Once the multiplayer is dead i would go back to playing SP as i haven't finished it on purpose :-)

PS: My life would be void if i had finished SP .. another reason :P

Dawnguard will temporarily pull people away till they beat that DLC in a few hours, then maybe play a bit more of Skyrim for a day or two. Such is the cycle of every Bethesda DLC.

The other 3 are specifically designed to be MP centric games. The fact that we're even comparing ME3's MP to them is a massive success.

Agreed. Tried to give up on ME3MP but seems impossible now. So no it won't die for me until maybe ME4 in some interesting form.
