Just because there are Asians in our world, don't mean there are Asians in the DA world.
So being able to make, or not, an Asian character is irrelevant.

Have you thought that perhaps a person wishes to put themselves into the game if they are Asian?  Hm?  Prolly not ...

Granted they have already stated that the Couslands are more caucasian in nature.  But I still like playing as other races (of humans ... even my female Shepard is black)

My comment wasn't that of sarcasm, just pointing out the obvious reason for lack of - not stating you shouldn't be able to.

JadeTempest's is super asian. Yours Anacronian has that ching chang chong vibe too. :P

Still haven't seen any males that really look asian though. I haven't been too successful either...

That's pretty good from a quick glance.

That one looks really good.

One thing that I have learned from doing Oblivion faces is that When you break it down Asian faces look a lot less different from western faces than many people imagine. People often make Asian faces that look ridiculous because they think that Asian eyes are angled and that they have Spock-eyebrows. Neither of those is true. Mariko there looks so good that it makes me think that an asian male must surely be possible, though the lack of eyebrow choices may hurt trying to make them look good.

That was my best attempt.  Unfortunately I think he came out a lot less cute Asian boy and a lot more creepy kung fu villian

Creating an Asian or African -looking character that looks decent is pretty hard, basically as hard as it was create a non-wrinkly Caucasian Shepard.

Meaning something always seems off.

My little asian-flavored dwarf gal...

African... nearly Snoop-Dog. :)

And my main character, and profile picture... Koralis, the rather nasty elven rogue.

I'm having a blast with the creator in case it wasn't obvious... Image IPB

And I just made an asian male, but I'm waiting for an upload to happen.  The actual character looks much more asian than the portrait.

Ah... He's uploaded.  Frankly, I think he looks a lot like Jin on Lost but I didn't realize that until after I'd named and saved :)

You guys are proving me wrong, which is a good thing :)  Here's my latest attempt:

Hopefully with the Morph editor Jassper mentioned things will be a lot easier for everyone, no matter what they want to do.  I did, however, notice that even in the Morph editor there are still only presets to some things like "eye types" with only minor ways to tweak them.

I thought the morph editor was the character creator?

I think Brazy Bear's last attempt is the closest so far.

I agree with CJohn that Asian faces are not so different from any other race, but I also don't think Nimoy looks Asiatic.

It is not difficult to create an Asian female with the creator, but the males seem 'off'. I'm surprised that I can't summon a Furious Ming or Scholar Ling from the editor but then again, the mythos of Ferelden is a lot more Eurocentric than Jade Empire's.

Toolset version of the CC.  Seems to have a lot of unlocked options they left out of what the players get.  :(

I have 2 and they are in my album.

P.S. I would have placed the pics here, but copy and paste don't seem to work no matter where I try to copy them from. Oh well!

I think it would be nice if they added an asian male preset to give people a starting point to make it a bit easier.

I do miss the editor for ME. I manage to remake myself down to a T. Slightly creepy when I got done but after a hour of tweaking it was dead on. Just hate that the closest thing I can get making an african-american character looks like some guy in blackface. I really tried but no dice, don't get me wrong I'm not complaining and trying to down the game or CC. I would just like a morpher, I'm pretty sure I could DL one. Anyways that's my 2 cents, and I look forward to the game :)

Females seem a little easier to make look like different races.. I'm not sure why. If you look through the prettiest forum there are a couple good Asian females. I had a hard time making an African looking female. I wouldn't think Bioware would just be filled with Caucasian modelers but even the pre-made faces don't represent races very well... You can tell they kind of tried.. but really they just look like different colored white people.

^^ Pretty much that. I'm sure there will be some modders out there that will make a mopher. Oh well, I'm not one of those gamers that let something minor ruin a great game for me. I'll just be sure to stay out of the rain and come up with a good and whitty reason my folks are caucasian. ^_^

They did a pretty good job with the presets for other races in their other games (Mass Effect and KOTOR imo), not sure what happened here.

Johnny Gamecrazy, I've seen some really good user-made African-American characters in various threads.  I even tried making Barack Obama a few days ago and I thought it turned out pretty well.
