Hmm, only people I've seen saying that are (90% of the time) Talimancers, which is ironic since Tali has been painfully forced into every game.

Oh look its that troll again, Atrollonis.

Liara is the most forced char, but that's up to others to decide if it's a bad thing or not.

Tali/Garrus, both can be completely absent from ME3, hardly forced (Tali can even be absent for the rest of ME2 after freedom's progress). Liara, you have no choice, she's there like it or not.

She is Bioware's pet.

Garrus is the fan's pet.

Pretty easy to see that. Liara gets all the attention, Garrus gets all the fans. I'm not sure ANYONE dislikes Garrus!

Garrus and Tali are the fans pets, because they weren't written by Mac Walters, and they actually have a personality. Deal with it.

That's according to your imagination, not according to reality.

The biggest ME poll ever made established that: Liara was by far the most romanced character and Garrus and Liara were by a massive amount the most used squad combination . So yeah, it's safe to say Liara and Garrus are the two most popular characters among the majority of ME players.

Oh, and sorry to break with your hate tirade, but Walters created Garrus in ME1.

Here's the poll

I wish I could compare those to polls taken about five months after ME2's release. I'd like to see how it fluctuates depending on what content is readily available to players, and in what amount.

I don't hate Liara but i do think there should have been some kind of suicide mission mechanic for ME3 which should have put an end to the plot armor complaints. I came very close to hating her though when Bioware in ME3 shoved her into my Shep's thoughts with the lazy notion that my LI didn't count, why don't you think of Liara instead.

My main ME squad was Tali and Liara, Liara being LI. I never really got the Garrus thing myself. Nothing against him, but he just didn't do it for me.

look what she got; 1 comic series, 1 DLC, make appearance in all ME games, best romance scene.

Funny, coming from someone who's constantly participating in this kind of hate threads against Liara/Miranda and Jack.

If Liara wasn't popular, and if one of the other characters was immensely popular among the fanbase, then perhaps that other character would have gotten the DLC, etc.

I don't think it's a coincidence that polls seem to reflect that Liara is very popular and then she gets special treatment from Bioware.

I'd say that this is also probably true for Garrus and Tali to a lesser extent. Both tend to be very popular, and then those two characters have been in all three games as squad mates. If people hated Tali and Garrus in the same way that people don't like Jacob, and if Ashley or Kaidan had that huge fan base, then maybe they would have been in all three games as squadmates or received DLC treatment, etc.

Personally, I hate Liara. She doesn't annoy me so much in ME3, but after going back and playing ME1, she just has the most uncomfortably awkward/stupid dialogue of any character IMO. It's uncomfortable to hear her speak "Oh, by the goddess, how could I have been so dense? You must think me for a fool [...] Oooh, I'm feeling a little faint, probably from mental exhaustion and learning the true fate of the Protheans", etc.

Put a bad taste in my mouth for the first game. Might give her more attention next time I play ME3 though. She seems to have improved.

I'm referring to the other threads where you got pathologically offended because I don't like Tali, you're an intolerant troll. And guess what, I don't care about how offended you get, that will not change my opinion about that boring character nor will stop me from voicing my opinion. If you don't like it you can ignore it.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion Arlionis, your opinion is wrong. Tali is not "forced down our throats" at all, nor is she poorly written.

Aww cute you completely ignored my post because you are unable to back up your assumption, poor troll. Theres only one person here thats offended, now I wonder who that is and turning this into a hate thread *cough you*

By all means go make a hate thread on Tali, let people here actually have a civil debate about Liara without your QQ'ing

Let's count off...

In ME1 she is...
An achelologist,
Is the only person who gets an entire mission devoted to recruiting her
Gets her own room
And was neither well connected nor influential

In ME2
Gets an entire DLC for her.
Is an Influencal information broker, and is well conected,

In ME3
She is on mars as an arcelogist and a Information Broker
Can only be kill via Exiding low EMS
has the most lines of any squadmate

She's important to the story. What do you want? Sorry but let's face is, Liara is important to Mass Effect. There is no Mass Effect without Liara. She is BioWare's go to squadmate. It's also great because she's my favorite LI and squadmate in the game and she's awesome.

Sorry, deal with it.

Liara being the most romanced is most likely a result of her being forced on us. I'm sure people liked her from the get go, but even though I romanced Ashley, Liara was acting like my girlfriend in ME3.

Now I absolutely LOVE Liara T'soni. She's my Blueberry Muffin in other playthroughs. But I think the biggest reason why people are annoyed by her is the notion that Bioware is basically saying she's the canon LI. They never came out and actually said it, but you can obviously tell given how much attention she gets. And that rubs people the wrong way, because this is suppose to be a non linear story (prior to ME3's release before you realized your choices never mattered).

For that reason, it's completely understandable why people are frustrated.

To add more facts to Terror's statement:
Liara is always there in ME3. How often she comes up to you? Too many times. *Oh I just came up to tell you that Hackett is calling* I think that EDI is more than perfect to tell it to me. She is forced into the game admit it. You can have different opinions, but don't lie. Neither to us, or yourself.

She was left out ME2 original story precisely to serve as a familiar face in ME3, which is a common storytelling device in multi-volume stories.
