IIRC, Shepard dies because he's a moron and stands in front of the pod, looking at explosions instead of getting inside. Also because Joker doesn't want to leave.

His death in ME2 has almost nothing to do with Liara / Kaidan / Ashley.

I thought the VS was the default one if you didn't romance anyone in ME1. Liara is there only because you romanced her. But the true enemy is the Collector any way.

This is sad.

There has to be one character who stays by your side throughout everything. That just happened to be Liara. Garrus and Tali are by far Bioware's favourites anyway. They scrapped a space for another ME2 Squadmate just so the Talimancers could drool over Tali for ANOTHER game.

I don't mind Tali as a character or Garrus (Bro) but they were in all 3 games, so stop crying about how Liara got XYZ. Even though Garrus and Tali can die, doesn't mean they will in your playthrough. The games are written in a way that having squaddies like Tali die is a big disadvantage, and the majority of people keep all the squadmates alive anyway, so stop going on about how they CAN die as if it's a big problem, when if you actually like them they won't.

Yeah, if anything Walters has said that Garrus was one of his favourites, who he also wrote in the first two games. It's in an interview somewhere.

As for Liara, she's necessary. If Garrus and Tali hadn't been put in ME2 (as I believe was originally planned) then we would have seen them in some of the cutscenes Liara's in. But hey, if it means I can romance Team Dextro, I'm not complaining.

Seriously, don't go there. We've already done the whole "Talimancers vs Liaramancers etc" in this thread, which is completely off-topic and missing the point.

You completely missed most peoples point, it's all about the option to not have "such and such char". Apart from the chars that are new to ME (James and EDI-Body version) All other chars from 1 and 2 can die, so if you don't like them you could arrange for them to no longer be in your game. With Liara you can't. Hence the lack of option, combine that with her ALWAYS hitting on Shepard regardless of who his LI is, yeah.. no option for that to stop, you have to endure it.

Why you keep bringing up the dying part when I already said it. ME2 Tali and Garrus can only die in the end of ME2. Liara isn't a squadmember in ME2. If we don't pay we only get a kiss /hug from her. No option for her to become a whole game squadmember. ME3 Liara can only die in the beam. Tali and Garrus have options to become the squadmember in ME3 too. Liara = Garrus = Tali IMO.

@Shally I know friends who are Talimancers, Mirandamancers, Ashleymancers who love her About people who love the Male characters I don't know.

Because Weekes said during PAX that Tali was a last second inclusion into ME3, so it's clear Miranda or Jack (I'm more convinced it was going to be Jack) got pushed aside for her. 

It sucks for me because I despise Tali but adore Jack.

It doesn't matter when they put her in. My main point is that EDI and Vega didn't really need to be in the squad in the first place. Putting all the blame on Tali is just a convenient excuse for you to vent your irrational anger towards her.
