Its not name calling. "a prude, a person who is excessively proper or modest in speech, conduct, dress, etc. ".
I just wonder why people keep crying about "oh so too much sex" when they can simply press ESC and be done with it. Nobody is forcing you to watch the horrible "sex" scene.

So now what is considered "excessive" and who decides that?

The individual decides, what's excessive for you or your family  might be normal for me or mine.If you don't like it don't buy it or use the feature.Just don't even think you know what's best for me.Image IPB

I would say the same of the bolded part.  I just don't appreciate being called "prudish" or  told to stfu because I happen to prefer fade to black to seeing a character's...everything...on screen.  And no telling people to keep thier finger above the "escape" button is not a reasonable compromise.

A love scene is not lacking just because the M rating doesn't include nudity.

::sigh::

Yes.  Everything must go my way.  That's exactly what I sad. Image IPB

There are many levels between Sesame Street and Game of Thrones.  I'm sure something can be found to make everyone happy.  Or everyone equally unhappy.  Or something.

But saying "You are a prude, thus your opinion is invalid" isn't the way.

I never called anyone a Prude.I sort of like Game of Thrones. The first year or so of Sesame street now carries warning label that the content might not be sutible for younger children as does Looney Tunes.Things change and not always the way we want or for the best.
Fallout 1 and 2 had a control panel that allowed you to take out cuss words and blood with a parental made lockout code.Which gave everyone a way to play the game they agreed with. Then the gov gets involved with "saving the children"and we get the #$%%$%^ esrb.one bar scene with "Adults drinking or pipes being used or red "blood"from a creature that never was (dragon)M rated, and is worse than a fighter jet splashing another jet in a combat game E to Teen rated.

I just still don´t get it why the ESC button is bad for you if you anyway want to "fade to black". Is it because its instant black and not fading? both do have the same result you know.

Again, for all you prudes out there, the ESC button is there for a reason. It works just as well as "fade to black".

I'd just to remind everyone that some of us aren't prudes (though everyone has every right to think whatever they want about the topic) - some of us just don't want Bioware's valuable resources spent on something that would be purely cinematic and add little to the actual playing of the game.

After all, I don't call up X-rated movie makers and ask them to put more dragons in their movies. I like my games to be games and the sexy stuff just isn't top-10 on my videogame wishlist.

If I felt that DAII had been utter perfection, I'd still be disappointed with having to skip a "romance" scene because of its awkward try at portraying sex, but you wouldn't hear me complaining about it. But it wasn't perfect, and there are about 25 things I'd rather see Bioware improve rather than simulating a more realistic sexual experience. If you want the devs to spend time, money, and talent on making "better" sex scenes, I respectfully just completely disagree about that being a valuable pursuit. :) (< this smiley face means I'm not attempting to rile up or insult anyone, I just may have a radically different opinion than your own)

But the romance scenes are already there, so it's not like Bioware would be putting more money into them (unless nudity cost more).

And I don't see how you can compare a 60 min X rated movie with a 10 second video game romance scene.

They're not already in the next game.

For me, anyway, all the *sex* scenes other than the really nice one in ME (yes, the one with the side-boob that created the incredible ****storm) have been purely a waste of money, but that's me.  Most of the others are either cringe-inducing or not bad but just not my style.

However, I'm reasonably content with not having any romance I *really* like in the game--I've really enjoyed both DA games to date even though the only romance I thought was worth the effort was Fenris.  I'm sure they'll come around again to something I *really* like sooner or later just by trying to get more variety in.

Do you mean there not already in DA3?  Because I remember seeing them in every ME and DA game to date.

She means good ones are not in the game right now.  Given that is likely a result of technical limitations with the engine rather than lack of talent by the artists, making "good" sex scenes is probably not going to occur without additional resources.    Given that the value of even a "good" sex scene is disputable, that's not really where I'd like to see such resources go.

Exactly. I´m pretty sure Bio is not going to go down for 10sec romance scene nor it is a resource drainer so that something would actually be left out of the game because of it. I mean seriously. But IF Bio is already on the ledge I´m also pretty sure 10sec resource redirecting is not going to save them either.

It's already been said a million times and it's likely to be said a millions times again but...

Why can we have have people slicing each other to bits, decapitating heads and setting people on fire but showing nudity is bad?

WHAT THE ACTUAL **** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?

I'm not sure if Lego corpse explosions and strawberry gelatin mist are really all that graphic. Well, they are graphic in the sense that you see them, but they aren't really all that accurate. People don't fly apart into fully-clothed, hairless segments no matter how hard you hit them.

Although I am tempted to make your post my signature. What indeed?

I think more realistic sex scenes would only work if the romance arc leading up to it was actually interesting, worth while and brought something to the game storyline wise. With the romance arcs in DA2 they felt so rushed and shallow that to have a sex scene like something out of the Witcher 2 would have seemed like the DA team just wanted to flash us some ****** & arse for the hell of it lol. However, if the romance arcs in DA3 are better than OR on par with the DA:O ones then Witcher 2 style sex scenes would feel more natural. If that makes sense?

Regardless, I doubt we'll ever see anything like that in any Bioware game, but hopefully they'll give us something more akin to the ME3 romances.

I wonder if the romances will be better paced in Dragon Age III; for instance, I don't see why the LI would move in after one night of sex, the same night after finally admitting your feelings for this person.

I don't like the people slicing each other to bits or the flying heads and the burning bodies -- as a matter of principle, at least. But at the same time I'm also the kind of person who laughs during The Hunger Games movie when that one kid is hitting that other kid with a brick.
Yes. Yes, I think there is definitely something wrong with me.
It's not quite nudity that offends me. Morrigan running around in her little necklace-and-hoodie getup didn't bug me, beyond how weird her anatomy was. It's the sex that I don't like. Some things are just better left out of video games. I don't buy video games for great sex scenes. I don't think it's something that should be a factor that makes a video game good, and it certainly does not make it "mature." If I have to, sure, I'll hit the ESC button -- or the X button, since I'm of the lesser race that plays on a console.
But I'd rather BioWare make a game that is great, and mature, with meaningful character romances that are powerful without needing graphic sex scenes to make it so. There are plenty of other games, movies, books, all featuring plenty of different kinds of risque eroticism.
But less violence would be nice, too, but that's just not going to happen.

And do you also avoid movies and TV shows with sex in them?

Nudity isn't a new thing in any form of media.
I do avoid movies and TV shows with sex in them. That's all there is to it, for me. I'm a prude. Open-minded, but still a prude.

I somehow find ways to occupy myself.
It's not so much of a "SEX IS BAD" thing, and more of the fact that when it's placed in books, movies, whatever, it is there for the express purpose of sexually exciting its audience, despite whatever other reasons for including such scenes the media attaches onto it. It's simply... not tasteful?
