I've been playing since release and I still don't have Asari Adept unlocked. It doesn't matter how long you have played, the RNG is garbage. It definitely sucks for new players, though. Hopefully the newer players can unlock the characters during the weekend at least.

I just don't get BW's thought process here. Community goals should be about building the community, not about dividing the player base and turning your back on the newest players. I guess this is just one more way to get trolled by the RNG.

May i remind you of the squad goal a few weeks ago where you needed a FULL extraction on GOLD?
How many BRAND new players finished THAT mission you think?

Have reasonably good friends, and a squad of 3 can carry an N7 1 lvl 1 on gold. Making those friends would have been the point of the weekend, and would have built community. The last goal was to make some friends with the new characters unlocked. This goal... is to buy items from the store.

Difference there is that a brand new player could've hoped straight into gold and had himself carried to extraction by veteran players. New players weren't completey incappable of playing it, they didn't need to get a specific item from the RNG store that would give them access to play gold. This weekend is exactly that, new players are barred from completing the squad goal by their luck with the RNG store.

What's more is that because there is no set difficulty to complete the squad goal on you can damn well bet that people are going to be kicking non krogan, batarian, or vorcha characters from lobbies of any difficulty. New players who can't complete the squad goal will likely be discriminated against, which would make it difficult for them to even help out with the community goal.

The point is that this event is divisive for the commmunity.

That's right, I haven't. I did make some mistakes on what packs to purchase for certain items. I spent a lot of time buy vet packs when I should have been getting Spectre packs. And I don't play Gold, so it takes twice as long (at least) for me to save up the credits. You can doubt that I have been playing since release if you want, but the first achievements I unlocked for Mass Effect 3 are dated 3/6/12.

I play everyday at least 2 hours and I've yet to unlock all the characters... My manifest is starting to look very OK, but still, I have all the pain in the world to unlock new characters. Instead I keep getting cards for characters I've already had (I'm looking at you, Kroguard and Krogan Sentinel), so yeah, you're being harsh on the newcomers OP.

i personally carried N7 3 guy wth lev 1 human vanguard through FBWGG - but i cant produce a character card for another N7 1 guy. All I can do is help him make money for PSP's and its very likely he will get just weapons

I suppose the balance to this is the victory packs have N7 weapons too now so the commendation pack is no longer the only way to get these things.

part about kicking is not true entirely - I will do all vorcha.... and so on mission for myself [probably 3 times on each difficulty just in case] but then I am gonna play gold to rack up kills, anybody can join me, share the loot and keep buying psp's, I will also play exclusively with desired characters to make it easier for others [may be lack of communication as usual so there will be 1 less person needed to switch to proper character]

Not exactly a fair statement, OP. I've been playing for a couple of hours almost daily since the game came out, and I have yet to unlock the original female Quarian Engineer after all this time. Sometimes the cards just aren't in your favor. Even harder for new people because they've added so many more classes and weapons since the original release.

I was expecting to see a condescending wonka meme when clicking the title (look how perfectly it's set up). Am disappoint .

On topic though, If I just bought the game today I cant imagine I'd be all that upset about not being able to do the weekend challenge. I feel for people who've been playing since release and haven't gotten these characters (though I'm still not sure how). I don't feel bad for new players buying the game at reduced price. We put time into unlocking out characters and things and paid full price. Besides, theyve missed every weekend challenge before if they are just now starting MP.

Really? Because I don't even have all of the characters yet and I've had the game since release. I also haven't leveled up most uncommons and I don't have all the rares or ultra rares.

I'm happy you posted I was just about to ask how long people have been playing that don't have all the characters unlocked.

I am only asking because I do play, I guess you can say a lot, and since release but I just focus on PSP and it usually only takes me a week at the most to unlock a new character. It might have taken me longer to get the AA back at the start but that's all I can remember.

I personally like the idea of the event. It'll hopefully prompt people to try classes they might not use often. Moreover a team comprised of Krogan, Vorcha and Batarians sounds like fun. I've never played with that combination.

Should be interesting - no Adepts, no Engineers, no Infiltrators.

Also, it's not like new players have to hope they unlock one single character. Obviously the chances of that are slim, as the chap who is lusting after the AA has discovered. Unless I'm mistaken they can participate with any one of 7 characters (Krosent, Krosol, Kroguard, Batsol, Batsent, Vorsol and Vorsent, for want of better abbreviations). If they really want to get the squad goal they have time to get some credits and buy some PSPs.

Finally, even if they aren't lucky enough to unlock of the 7 required classes they can still do their part as far as the community goal is concerned. Hopefully, while they're killing mobs and earning creds they'll get their character. If not they can rest assured they did their bit for the community and will likely get a Victory Pack.

I'm personaly focusing on PSP and it takes me roughly 3 games to get one. So on a good night, I buy 2 PSP. I mostly play silver because I play to chill, and I'm not a huge fan of farming FBWGG. Gold games are rewarding credit-wise, but it's just not my cup of tea after a day's work.

I have been playing regularly since the game came out and don't have any of the required characters. I have participated in every challenge (I have 7 N7 weapon points). I have bought 6 PSPs in the last three days and did not get 1 of the characters. Last night I bought 3 PSPs and got 5 guns I don't use, and a Cerberus Adept, which i already had 3 times over.

This challenge creates a divided community of haves and have-nots, which is exactly what the challenges should NOT be doing.

It can easily be resolved if BW offered a pack that guaranteed 1 of the races. One-time purchase only, maybe 30,000. That way we still pay credits, but it ensures everyone can participate in the challenge.

Oh, really? I've spent like 10 million credits since the first DLC and still no Asari Justicar, Vorcha, Batarian, and ex-Cerbs.
