First, watch the next video to prove you are a Dragon Age Fan

youtu.be/xoMpIkV8R8Q

It is not the usual Sacred Ashes Trailer but the Fullscreen version (for the 1st time) improved with envolving music, cinematic contrast and other effects. It includes exclusive images from Flemeth and Morrigan at the end (like them or hate them, nothing official just fan-made and not by me).

This is how future next-gen Dragon Age games could look like (maybe DA 4 or 5?). After watching Unreal Engine 4 footage, all can be possible.

________________________________

Now, here is a wishlist for Dragon Age 3 (considering many feedback, specially from metacritic... If you know what I mean) but also my point of view, having played both DA: Origins and DA 2, and also all the campaign DLC contents of both of them.
For DA 3 you should consider to bring back:

1. The Silent Main Character.

2. The dialogue system from Origins (DA 2 did not happen!) because Mass Effect and Dragon Age are and must be completely different games (fortunately), what works in ME may not work in DA (some elements in DA 2 that were taken from ME didn't work).

3. Combat style mixed between DA: O and DA 2.

4. Give a name to the game... For Example: "Dragon Age 3: ******, ****** everywhere" or "Dragon Age 3: Feedback matters". Well, the name I better think I leave it to you...

5. Inventory system and interface from Origins (DA 2 did not happen, again!).
The other points I think that are clear and already have taken note: no reused scenarios... more relevance to Orlais, Grey Wardens, more dialogue options and choices that really matter (I am afraid of that sound, considering ME 3 ending without the extra DLC...).

And the most important: 3 years of development time (or more) because this is unlikely to happen in less time.

P.D.: This is a constructive critic in order to improve/resurrect my favorite franchise.

People who agree with me, give a +1 of approval (you like 3 or more points of the list)
And people who doesn't agree, give me -1 (you like less than 3 points)

Also, add more points to the list if you like, or just take points out of it.

This is to show Bioware what we really expect DA 3 to be.

The results should be considered by Bioware.

And let the discussion begin (I apologize for my bad english)

Yeah, I mean, I want a game that has improved a lot over DA2, but several things in that list does not correspond with what I want for sure.

The still artwork of Flemeth from DA2 and a concept artwork of Flemeth and Morrigan wearing the hideous spikey armour kind of ruined it for me.

That's exactly what I am asking and the purpose of this post:

People who agree with me, give a +1 of approval (you like 3 or more points of the list)
And people who doesn't agree, give me -1 (you like less than 3 points)

1- Nope

2- I like the dialogue wheel, it just needs refinement.

3- In this we agree, slower than DAII and faster than DAO.

4- I don't care? Of what importance is this?

5- I would like a more classic interface and the companions equipment that has been proposed satisfies me.
Maybe more relevant loot, I remember in DAO when genitivi ask for a piece of paper to write on while you explore fortress, I wanted to give him a piece of those white papers you find but I couldn't.

And about the rest, grey wardens are part of the world, but not key, loved their cameo in II.
Choices that matter? Sure I'm all for that, I love when something bites me on the ass later on, and for development, I'm no dev, so I'll let them work in peace.

So -1 I guess?1- Nope

Yes, that's it. This is what I was searching for. Just to start a constructive discussion in order to give Bioware some clues for Dragon Age 3. But yeah, it is very difficult to arrange a game that will satisfy everyone. I hope Bioware can manage to do it well.

The fact is that DA 2 had some points that were a step back from Dragon Age Origins and some ideas that were good but not properly implemented.

I trust Bioware and that they will listen to the feedback just to improve.
For example, for me the art style from Origins was a solid base. I don't like the look of the elves (Zevran looked "very strange").
I like the new look for Qunari race, specially females (not seen in-game yet, sure they will appear in DA 3), but I cannot imagine Sten...

Even the humans (Alistair looked like a Mabari in DA 2, don't you think so?)

Maybe Morrigan enjoyed that, considering that she considered Alistair less inteligent memeber in the group, even with a mabari in the party hehehe. But I preffer how Alistair looked with the texture graphics and art-style from Origins.

Flemeth looked great, but I am not brave enough to imagine Morrigan with the new graphics/art-style... I hope they will polish that, or return to Origins solid base.

Also, some scenario textures and armours looked much more better in Origins...
A lot of armours from DA 2 are ugly (at least, in my opinion).
And I would like them to update the Toolset! That's a must for mods (the PC users would be very pleased)

Look familiar? :) Flemeth's new look in DA2 looks like it was based on Edea, what's the bet they make Morrigan to look like she was designed by Square?

I am glad I'm not the only one who has seen that
In fact, I think Ultimecia was the real inspiration for Flemeth:

thelifestream.net/wp-content/uploads/dissidia_artwork_ultimecia.png

thelifestream.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/DFF_Ultimecia.png

It's pretty obvious, Bioware...
And I think I know why...the new designers for DA 2 art-style were "oriental" (am I wrong?)... That's the only thing that could explain it all.
That explains also they trusted in FunImation to do that "japanese movie" called Dawn of the Seeker using Dragon Age franchise.

While Dragon Age Origins was an occidental RPG, DA 2 was more like Bayonetta-style (In words of Mike Laidlaw: Awesome!)... But it was not awesome for me, considering that I preffer occidental RPGs... Dragon Age wasn't made to be an oriental RPG, but occidental...

I only enjoyed Final Fantasy saga until FFX, and for me it's ok that inspiration in FFVIII for Flemeth (and probably Morrigan), but I hope they will return to the occidental look for DA 3.

Of course, there is another look-alike:

I think Flemeth might have been based more on the Disney version of Maleficent, as shown here in artwork by Matt Rhodes (who was part of the concept art team for DA2).

I'm sure that the concept artists at Bioware draw inspiration from all manner of sources such as existing media or literature. And while opinions may vary on whether or not the look of environments or characters is appealing, I personally find it more important that said look fits smoothly into the what we know as the Dragon Age universe as a whole (which, imo, everything thus far has).

Yeah, I was even thinking about Flemeth the other day when I saw this picture of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.

She even has Flemeth's golden eyes.

2:Hell yeah, get that crap wheel out of there.
3:Hard to say,I loved the combat in DA:O but hated it in DAII.It really depends on DA:O to DAII ratio,so I'll pick nuetral for now.
4:Once again I don't care.
5:YES!!!!
Might I add that I want skills and the tier list to return.

Please no silent main character. When I went back and played DA:O after DA2, I thought it was awful. It felt like I was playing a game from the last century!

Are games from the last century bad games? No.

You only need to play through KOTOR or Baldur's Gate and you'll understand why RPGs works better with a silent main character. Specially when you are the protagonist.

I mean, it's ok a voiced character for games like Mass Effect (where Shepard is the protagonist, not you) and also in The Witcher (where Geralt is the protagonist, not you).

But in Dragon Age Origins you are the one who says the word, unlike DA 2 where Hawke speaks for you (not through you). I hope Bioware is able to understand that we gamers deserve an old-school RPG, not a modern-cinematic RPG.

Well, if they are able to make something like Sacred Ashes trailer, the ok. But with DA 2 art style, I don't want another interactive tale told by a dwarf (unless that dwarf is called Oghren or Sandal).
