You underestimate Singularity. Sure it's not amazingly useful, but there are many situations where it is helpful.

Throw one at a Ravager before you Smash it to prevent Swarmers soaking up all your Smash. Paralyze groups of unshielded enemies while you take on harder ones. Stagger Guardians so you can get away.

Don't forget that if you aim a bit above Guardians, the Singularity will go behind them and yoink them--even when they have their shields going.

-Marauders - Singularity will block, stun lock - DOT & lift immediately once shield is gone.

You know, I've heard several people say that Singularity will stun lock these shielded enemies, and I've seen a couple of videos of it online.  It doesn't work for me though.  I fire the Singularity and they stagger once and just walk away, as if I had just used Throw on them.  Is there some trick to getting this to work?

I skip Smash on my PA. Makes him a long range Adept. It taught me how to effectively use Singularity. Also, SINGULARITY + BE LASH = DESTRUCTION

I'm sorry...but...no. No.

You cannot justify losing out on the insane DPS Smash grants.

This is blatant insanity.  Smash is far too amazing to skip.

How do you have your singularity evolved?

When you use singularity, where is the "black hole" in relation to the enemy you used it on?

-In order for the singularity to stagger the enemy multiple times, you must take the 35% expand evolution in rank 6.  This evolution allows the singularity to expand over ten seconds.  As the singularity expands, it hits the enemy again and again with each expansion and each hit  staggers the enemy.   If your singularity field isn't growing then you will only get the original stagger from the impact of the singularity's original cast.  (Edit - If the enemy is a hunter or a guardian, then they will constantly try to walk into your singularity and will stagger themselves with each attempt and the 35% expand is not needed to stun lock these enemies b/c they do it to themselves.)

-Shielded, non-armored enemies can not walk through the singularity field.  Once again, with the 35% expand evolution in rank 6, the field becomes huge and shielded enemies can not walk through it, or once the field grows around them, they can not walk out of it either.   One exception here, Nemesis's can and do walk away from the singularity, but this is due to the fact that these are the only enemies in the game that will run away from you instead of trying to walk through your singularity to get at you.

A 0/6/6/6/6 Cerberus adept is pretty lethal.

Singularity>Lash is an extremely fast way to create BE's on unshielded mobs.
Example

However, not taking Smash is crazy.  Smash is the PA's way to damage armor and fight up close.  Without smash, you are effectively gimping yourself... bigtime.

Ah, there's the problem.  I only put 5 ranks into Singularity so I could max Fitness.  Thanks!

I'd like Warp instead of Singularity. It would be more useful. I get more BE's with the Phoenix Vanguard. So if the PAdept stays as is, I really dont see any use for it.

I hearby start my personal plea that the Cerberus Adept be changed to get Reave, Warp or Barrier instead of Singularity because he is almost the worst Adept. (fun to play definately) Seriously even the Human Adept has Warp with Shockwave to Detonate Armored targets. Besides once people get the Cerb Vanguard the Adept will see Absolutely NO play time.

In my opinion the ex-Cerberus adept is superior to the original human adept, which makes him the second worst adept in the game. Phoenix gets lash, a very fast power that is always useful. And smash is great too, though it could use a shorter animation time. The Phoenix does not have to shoot nearly as much as the human adept because lash can be speced to affect even shielded eniems and is a long range power.

Singularity should be buffed. That would improve the original human adept as well as the Phoenix version.

Squad goal is to kill as many little guys as possible, so Singularity is going to be a big help.
Maxed Singiularity on my PA, completely gold viable. Stunlocks Marauders, Hunters, Rocket Troopers, Centurions, Nemesis. Plus, hit them with an Eviscerator while Singularity is on them, watch them float, use the quick recharge time to give them a Lash and BOOM! It takes out the shilds of other mid-tier enemies, hit them with Singularity and you have a floating party!

Disagree too. Singularity not best, but class not worst.

Didnt say worst, almost worst and primarily once there is the Vanguard is there any real point to play him?

Yes, because lash doesn't mesh so well with the Vanguard. The Vanguard is up close, and you NEED extra shields and health on one. So it's best to focus on full charge, smash and full passives. Lash is left for the Adept.

You do realize smash does so much damage to armor that he doesn't need biotic explosions. Right?

You do realize that trying to go CQC with a class as squishy as the PAdept is suicide and extremely stupid?

i definitely think that singularity to lash is inferior to singularity to warp, and lash can be so random on how it throws the target, and has a long animation. I would definitely be happy with barrier on the adept, but i don't think it's going to happen

I play both, vanguard for charge when things get sticky and adept to throw things around. Singularity is fine. I used to think it was bad but you trap one mob in a narrow corridor and smash him, the explosions tag everyone, no one can pass.
Also, nice to see a fellow trini:D

Indeed, likewise it always great to meet a fellow Trini :D

Haha more Trinis! :o

Hmm...I left out singularity on my build, now I'm thinking to give it a second chance..

The worst adept? Smash makes him the single best boss-killer amongst the group, BEs or no BEs.

Smash and Lash are both extremely powerful.  If the cerbadept had another high-tier biotic power to go with them, he'd certainly be overpowered.

I actually have to squeek up here and agree with OP, PA is (at least on paper) the worst adept (maybe tied with DA for worst since the shockwave buffs). That would be mostly due to higher skill caps, and in NO way says they are at all bad (though I know I am a bad drell).

Cerberus Adept is the best class if you know how to use him. Just don't waste a single point on Singularity. Its bullsh*t in MP. The worst power ever.
