Anyhoo, I love the Phoenix Adept. Singularity may not be the greatest power (its duration+explosion needs some tweaking), but it's very easy for creating Biotic Explosions on weaker enemies. The Asari Adept may fit the "boss killer" role with Warp+Throw spamming, but Singularity is much better for setting off chains and crowd control. Encounter a boss? Just use Smash from behind a wall.
I still think something is wrong with the ex-Cerberus characters. They sure feel squishy and tend to die easier.

Singularity is ok if you just upgrade the first 3 ranks.
Throw it at an armored dude, shoot him till he runs out of armor or shields and watch him float. Then, smash him.

Dark Channel is like a contagious Reave. It last for an absurd amount of time (something like 30-40 seconds), jumping to a new enemy when the currently afflicted one dies. Cast DC once. Use Throw ---> Kill enemy ---> Use Throw ---> Kill another enemy --> Repeat ---> Repeat. It also applies Damage Over Time and slows & weakens enemies. It will keep jumping to nearby enemies for the duration.
If you have Javik in the Campaign, use him along with another Biotic. It's ridiculous, especially with an Adept Shepard that gets 40% cooldown reduction on a successful Biotic Explosion.

I hearby start my personal plea that the Cerberus Adept be changed to get Reave, Warp or Barrier instead of Singularity because he is almost the worst Adept. (fun to play definately) Seriously even the Human Adept has Warp with Shockwave to Detonate Armored targets. Besides once people get the Cerb Vanguard the Adept will see Absolutely NO play time.
Reave would be the most logical choice since it gives a temporary damage reduction when evolved so he can come closer to the Vanguard (since he is a fragile close range class, for some play styles of course)
Warp will allow him to more easily set off bombs and debuff enemies
Barrier is Barrier, aoe damage in a pinch /w fast cooldown (in keepin with fast cooldown of all his abilities) plus damage reduction and melee & power damage bonuses while Barrier is active.. I mean come on this directly ties into to his playstyle
Comment to show your support, critize or propose your own ideas
EDIT: I use Singulrity myself I'm not bashing it I just think In My Opinion that there could be a better power on him that would make him much better since he dies so easily and is primarily a close up fighter. The purpose is not to bash Singularity but to think of other powers that could be used instead.
I know everyone has their different playing styles but to me the Cerb adept has the perfect combo. Smash for close quarters fighting and Singularity/crazy biototic lash that is great for distant biotic explosions or pulling them in for some smashing. I actually make my cerb all green cause I like to yell HULK SMASH as I pull them in for the smash biotic power. I can take people head on or just sit back and be support. It's perfect for me.

Could not agree more. He is designed for CC and ambushing enemies. And they set him up nicely.

How well does the Phoenix Adept do with the Acolyte?

I actually dislike the vanguard because I have to split points among 3 very good powers, making some of them weaker. That's just annoying. The adept can just focus on his powers and really maximize damage.
I say keep singularity as a throw-away/experimental power.

When combined with a shot from the Acolyte, it's a great skill for crowd control as well as setting up explosions. The demo Human Adept makes great use of this combo with Singularity > Acolyte > Warp and Singularity > Acolyte > Shockwave. The Phoenix Adept can greatly increase his range against Phantoms and infantry by using Singularity > Acolyte > Lash.
Of course to get the best explosion, you would need to max out Singularity, so it will come at the cost of points in Smash, Phoenix Training, or Fitness and that's where a lot of people get cold feet. A well rounded spec is 66644 which gives a neglegable difference in Lash's impact damage and an 82.5 point difference in Smash's impact damage. A more risky spec, 66653 preserves the full power of Smash for boss killing, but leaves less room for error.
If you don't want to detonate off Singularity but still find it useful for making pesky shielded enemies HOLD STILL so they can be lashed, you can preserve the utility of singularity with a 36656 or 46664 build. It may seem like a roundabout method when you can just Lash > Smash, but since Lash has no impact radius, the reality of the situation is often...
Lash > Lash > Lash > Lash... HOLD STILL YOU BLOODY NEMESIS!!!!... Lash > Lash >Smash.
At the very least, 3 ranks in Singularity is the minimum necessary for taking Phantoms out of the equasion: Singularity > Acolyte equals a helpless Phantom.

Acolyte is a poor weapon for a squishy caster. It will result in dead adepts on maps that are not small with narrow corridors. A squishy character simply can't consistently stand out of cover charging weapons and live.

Singularity doesn't. Human Adept has a long range Shockwave for powerful BE's and Warp, while PA has short range Smash, and Lash that does next to nothing on armor.

This is true. The Phoenix Adept has no combos for bosses. Their only course is to Smash over and over again.

Maybe if it were given the ability to move like the combat drone for a short time just sweeping up enemies for a short time.
