I don't think she even has to 'attempt' to be more enlightened than most around here.

Awesome body to work with but an ugly mug that you just can't get passed.

OP is offensive, bigoted, and inaccurate. Much more accurate, not to mention less ignorant and prejudiced, would be to replace the name "John" with "Jar Jar Cthulhu."

To be precise - I did not say "I used to be a man" but "I was once named John".
Nevertheless it may have sounded wrong to some, and I apologise for that yet again, but had no real idea of substituting the endline...

Fair enough. You can't always tell where people's buttons are. But being named "john" is the same as having been a man previously, isn't it?
Anyway. I'm not up in arms over this. I just had yet another "Sigh" moment, which I have a lot on these forums. You still got good feedback and responses, so "yay" ..

The most horrible thing about this thread is the volume of people who don't see how hugely offensive the OP is.
I mean, finding out someone is trans in-and-of-itself is grounds for feelings of revulsion and disappointment right.... right, that's why it's funny _isn't it_?
Like going on a blind date and finding out your date is black!, Perfectly natural to suggest that it would be a huge disappointment. Who would be offended at that? it's just the way things are. and after all the OP didn't _intend_ to offend anyone, no harm done...
Sickening...

This response reminds me of a customer at a warehouse I once worked at. He had a chip on his shoulder and thought everyone hated black people. He once ordered a part and was asked if he wanted that in black or silver because, you know, those are the two colors it comes in. Instead, he couldn't see past the fact that someone said black and had to rant about how "you got a problem with black?!"

You are missing the point.
There is a difference between going for a blind date and being surprised at what you see.
The end of the thread was the surprise of the secret kept away. Don't you bullsh*t me, you wound't be offended at THAT moment. It's not about WHO you are, but who you PRETEND to be. Just like the endings.
Don't mistake it with a reaction at the start, when the other person would OPENLY state how things were/are and you would then decide on the course of this relationship. On you would depend whether you accept that or be offended by it.
the thread was about the first situation, not a general attitude.
A lie told in the moment of almost no return is ALWAYS offensive. Whether it's an ending to a 100-hr playtime or first date already in the bed.

LOL. What the hell? Did I skip a few centuries in my sleep and wake up in a world where it's expected to be into transgendered people? Am I not allowed a good old fashioned sense of preference? This is the second time this accusation appears in this thread. Really, wtf?
Trust me mate, if I were to find out that a girl I like had been born a dude, I'd be pretty turned off. That's just my sexuality talking, I can't help that.
