I can deal deal with ppl new to the game with crap guns who played gold before he was ready. But ppl who run off into spwans to die on purpose to get around the afk kick is just unreal. Why bother even playing. Has anyone else noticed this nonsense

Carrying - Does most of the work
Leeching - Does no work.

You don't have a difference outlined in your post.

Being carried means they are trying they just either suck or have no good weapons/low level characters. That i'm ok with

Leeching - is BS people who don't want to work but want to get free money. Now mind you i'f i'm playing with a friend and they have to sit out a wave or 2 thats cool, but playing with a random who purposely does nothing pisses me off

Pull up your email program and report them? Then get on yoru mic and tell them to leave the last enemy alive and make his arse stay dead for over an hr or until he leaves. :)

I have to agree, Carrying and leeching are at the opposite ends of their spectrum anyway, theres no need to distinguish between them.

Normally I can't care about "cheating" in this game cause it doesn't mean much. Was put into a glitcher lobby and stayed cause hey why not, left after game. But leechers just make it take longer then it should :/

I haven't tried this, but keep the leecher alive, kill all enemies except one. Wait till they get booted.

Suicide is the new afk camping, I've run into it myself in PUG matches. It's infuriating, and unfortunately there's no real solution for it except to revive the suicidal bastards every time they go down, to shadow them, and force them to move their character around. Make it hard for them, by making them work. I also like the idea of leaving one enemy alive for a long time, to inconvenience the suicide leecher.

Not really having an issue with leechers, but I have had to carry a game or two in Silver when a few of the players were leveling up low levels characters. It does happen and in my opinion, if you're level 20 and you see the team before going into a match, then leave then or just know you'll be doing a lot of leg work.

Stay near the low level players, let them get assists and revive them when it gets deep. Carrying is apart of the team as you're only as strong as the weakest link.

Leechers on the other hand are being silly. Why bother pushing for more weapons and characters if you don't want to play the game? Feel unhappy you're booster pack rolling is off and can't get a good gun?

Save up for three Premium packs and roll three times, you will get nice surprises. The more you roll on the charts, the more chances you have of getting a character. It works for me.

I don't have any problem with helping low level characters or newbies (at least in Bronze/Silver).

But I was in a match last night with a Krogan who hunkered down behind a wall in the LZ in a silver match, only shooting when something came close enough to threaten him. By wave 6, he only had 2400 points to his name. So when the objective wave was over, my dh and I hunkered down a little farther back from him and waited for the hordes to descend. And they did. And he got off of his lazy Krogan *** for the last few rounds. I guess he got the hint (actions speak louder than words!). But even then, he didn't help with objects or revives. And no, he was not a newb... decent N7 and good gear... just a lazy leecher. I mean, really, what's the point... leech credits so you can wave around your high-level ultra rare weapons, and then not shoot anything with them while your teammates carry your sorry behind?

leeching is an intentional act to not participate but be rewarded by other players efforts. being under equipped or not as skilled as the other players and not scoring as high is far different, and even that really isnt getting carried unless you are woefully unprepared or delusional enough to believe you are ready to play beyond bronze with an n7 of 15 for example.

I have never seen a true leecher on ps3 yet. I saw players who sucked bad, scored very little, but they still tried to do something...

Don't really mind a glticher staying... if you have any points at all before you glitch, the team will get them in the end (hopefully they can glitch to the LZ , if not, oh well)  And it's not a player's fault when they get stuck at the top of the map, etc..  And cheating just makes no sense; it's a co-op game.

But leechers?  Grrrrr...  gonna think of some new and creative ways to deal with these guys :)  Love the idea of leaving one enemy to kill him, btw ... going now to put on my "Evil Genius Hat" .....

I think the thread title you're looking for is "The difference between being carried and leeching".

No need to thank me.

Lol. It'll get abused.

Example: Wave 11. Host scored double my score and Im feeling butthurt. I'll convince the other two to kick him for the lulz. He loses his credits and equipment.

There is a fine line between being carried and leeching. I would consider an N7 10 Shrukien II player who willfully enters a Gold lobby expecting to be carried to also be leeching.

That's easily solved by preserving the kicked player's equipment (as long as s/he is kicked before completing the wave 10 objective* - otherwise, that could be abused) and paying out the credits earned before the kick.  You could still grief people with the ability but at least they wouldn't lose their gameplay rewards.

Even that depends.  A caster can max at least one skill (I can't think of the numbers right off hand) by level 10.  Spamming a good power over and over again from cover could be enough to increase another players efficiency quite a bit.  I'd agree with you in general, but in practice it could turn out just fine if the "newbie" plays with discipline and persistence.

Pretty much this. Implement the ingame votekick option with automatic saves after objective waves.

But seriously, people kicking over highscore? Never seen that. I mean, in all other games I've played, I've seen people kicked for being bad, AFK, leeching, griefing, but kicking people for being good? Lolwut. Never saw this on PC.
