I think NPC's should be as imperfect as possible. Honestly though I am more concerned with their character than by their looks.

In DA, I think realism should trump beauty. Its fine to have attractive characters, but they shouldn't have perfect teeth (DAO was great about that, DA 2 pandered to the "OMG Y my beautiful AListars teeth so messed up" demographic).

It's a shame that the two companions that I liked the most (Aveline, Varric) weren't romanceable, but the crazies were.
I wouldn't mind seeing a variety of LIs in DA3.
People in this thread keep talking about these characters as if they're potential romantic partners. They're fictional, people. They're part of the story. Why is it so important to you that they meet your arbitrary beauty standard? Wouldn't it be better to have a realistic world with a range of body shapes and facial designs? And if bad teeth on other people bugs you, thats your problem, not theirs. Neither the real world nor Bioware's game world needs to conform to your rediculous expectations. Attractive characters are not better than ugly characters. Well done, realistic characters are better than poorly done wish fulfillment characters.PsychoBlonde wrote...

If they do this, I WANT A TOGGLE. PLEASE GOD A TOGGLE. I'LL KICK THE KITTEN MYSELF.
Why? Because bad teeth on people BUG THE CRAP OUT OF ME. In real life, forget video games. It just squicks me out, I'm like a guy who can't stop staring at a woman's ****** or the HUGEASS MOLE on her face.

I'm all for realism as long as the characters are realistically attractive and break into dance routines in a realistic way. And sing spontaneously, like real life...
And what's that? She slowly collapses under the weight?Sweet Dirge wrote...
Isabella I wouldn't have had a problem with if the game took into account what happens to a well endowed woman who does not wear a bra over the course of ten years.

I find this idea quite appealing.

Should BioWare try and add a more diverse range of companions to romance? Sure. But the idea of adding ugly or beautiful companions is just silly.

Yes, because the idea of adding a more diverse range of companions is brilliant. Specially since it's a simplistic way to reduce my question. If you are going to say that the idea is stupid, at least try to explain your point better.
I don't see why the perspective-based concept of beauty makes the idea stupid. The question is, would you appreciatte Bioware adding beatiful romanceable characters? Is that important to you? The subjectivity of beauty does not invalidate the question; what I'm asking is for your opinion, your perspective.
Again, I wonder if people read posts at all.

I suggest a compromise. I am sure that more than half of us would be happy if the party was filled with ugly male companions and beautiful female companions. Everyone wins!!
