What Would You Have EDI Look Like?

On a philosophical level, the gender-neutral/ambiguous nature of AI as distinct to organic pre-defined gender roles to play to the theme of synthetics as a truly different form of life. Rather than Legion being One Of The Guys (look at those biceps!), or EDI being geek-girl v. 2.0, playing EDI with a feminine voice in a masculine body would have contrasted the expectation.
On a metagaming level, subverting the expectation would have actually convinced me Bioware was trying for anything serious. Playing it straight, despite the absurdity, could give it some weight.
On an visual level, the Normandy could use more man-meat. James tries, but he's holding down the fort on his own.
And on a comedic level, giving Joker a sexuality crisis would have been worth it in spades.

I don't mind if the OP thinks it lacks originality, but EDI being a hyper-sexualized Jacob-esque-abs male-bot would have been entertaining on a number of levels.

Actually funny you say that. I only said the thing about originality because I saw you post the idea before. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome, it's just I'd seen you do it before and didn't fancy it getting discussed here is all. But now you've brought it up, go ahead if you like.

Scaled down in size perhaps, kind of a War Machine thing, and we have a Tech spec with heavy weapons, that ladies and gentlemen is how your unchained AI helps in the field.

Barring that, if we go more robotic, I'd like something that evokes Masamune Shirow (creator of Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed).
Of course, this being EA owned, I'm surprised they didn't go for the "mass market appeal" and give us Cortana 2.0 (or whatever).
And as unecessary as EDI's body was, it's better than Joker going into the "internet world/Matrix" and banging her in virtual reality. Also, if anyone else deserves some action, it may as well be him.

EDIT: Oh, and if I had to choose a different for look for her I would actually have to agree with the post above me. A Ghost in the Shell inspired outfit with EDI having skin again would be nice to see.

Overall I like what they could have done with EDI, she's been unshackled and is growing unhappy with always being o the sidelines while her crewmates and friends put themselves in danger. She wants to help, she wants to get down and dirty with the rest of the crew because she knows her abilities (cyber warfare) will be useful on the ground in a fight against the Reapers. Taking that stance rather than the, "I want to get a man." line you know what would be a great body for EDI? This

This is what was great about EDI. A story about an AI becoming humanized without ever letting us forget what she was: you didn't think she was 'human' because she looked like one, but because she acted as one. It was such a refreshing way to look at what it means to be alive and sapient, and then ME3 went and took a giant sh!t all over that premise.Billyg3453 wrote...

If I hadn't already watched a very creepy video on Cracked today, that'd definitely win the Nightmare Fuel Video of the Day.Bill Casey wrote...
