The whole point is that she is supposed to look human (part of her development). Doesn't really matter what she looks like in the end, as people were going to complain about her regardless of what she looked like.

BTW, I always thought that the reason they had her around because they needed a tech specialist who couldn't die, like Vega acting as heavy, and Liara acting as biotics specialist. Probably nothing, but just an idea.

People are probably gonna accuse me of white-knighting here, but whatever.

EDI getting a new body wasn't so much an issue for me. She finds a new way to help the crew and by being more of a 'person' she learns new things about humanity. I can dig that.

I do understand it when people say her new body is stupid, however. It is highly sexualised and seems to make the whole Romance angle a little juvenile and shallow. (Not to mention the cursed camel-toe).

So how would you change it? If you could take any woman from real life or fiction and have EDI look like her, who would it be and why? Assume she still has the same voice and 'synthetic' appearance, but her face and body shape alter.

I would suggest a young Sigourney Weaver. Might be slightly obvious a choice what with her sci-fi connections, but I truly do admire her. She helped define strong female characters in Alien and she continues to be a respected Hollywood figure. Not only that, but she did it without looking like a stereotypical supermodel bimbo and instead looked right for the parts she was in whilst still looking attractive.

That's what EDI needed to be. Strong and feminine, not over-sexualised.

Any other suggestions?

P.S. You get 0 Originality points for suggesting a dude
P.P.S. Don't turn this into a 'feminism is bad' or whatever argument. No time for it.

the Developers had to go "sexual-appeal" on her. I thought it was inapproraite
Military Uniform would have been a better option or at least business professional clothing...She's on a Military Space Vehicle. As Most Men or Woman in the Military, Professionalism is required. It makes it more authentic IMO. That's why I had Shepard in his Alliance Military Uniform.

While I highly enjoyed EDI's role in ME3, I kind of prefered her holograph self.
EDI gaining a body was a little weird, especially since dat cameltoe and the hair explanation, you know the one, when you talk to her at random on the Citadel in Purgatory.
If the body had been a little less sexualised I'd probably not think about it, but since the unit was "an infiltration unit" it made sense that it was sexy - and Joker's reaction just made the whole thing that much sweeter.

If I had to change her, I'd have made a little less busty, different haircut and more clunky-robot-plate skin looking, if that makes sense to anyone but myself. That and I'd changed the visor colour to light blue, because of her original look.

O-o Joker falling in love with a machine was super funny and if you don't focus on the sexual aspects of edi she is just fine

I didn't really have a problem with EDI, in fact she was probably my favourite character in Mass Effect 3.
Yes she was sexualised, but it would make sense for Cerberus to build their spy to have certain... assets.
However, the ****** was stupid and gratuitous.

Maybe she should have looked like this:

Lets go ask Joker about his crush now.

She needed to stay a disembodied voice in the ship. The whole thing where part of her was still in the ship and in the body left a lot of questions about the body's long-term viability for her. She required so much processing power, her servers had their own room...what happens when the ship is destroyed or has to be retired? I personally would have preferred she didn't even have a holographic interface, that she just talked to the crew like the computers on the Enterprise.

I would have picked a genderless battleroid version with a badass array of weapons and thick armor.

However, after all the attention Miranda's ass got and their desire to cater to the CoD fanbase they ende up turning EDI and Ashley into sex objects. They can deny it all they want but the final ME3 versions are more than telling enough with how vastly different and sexualized they are to the past incarnations.

EDI looked fine as she was. I wouldn't mind if she kept the Eva Core look though.

Get rid of the cameltoe.

Make her..."Assets" less defined and large. I understand why Dr. Eva Core would have had those, but that's just as an excuse so that EDI can have them.

And redo the coloration so that it looks like she's wearing a full set of clothes (kinda like her alternate outfit that makes it look like she's wearing Miranda's outfit). If she looked like she was wearing clothes (instead of just a one-piece bathing suit), and had more normal proportions, she'd be fine.

I'd take the current EDI model, bring the bust size down to a B-cup, change the hair to look less like an attempt on a jetson's hairdo, and give her an appropriate outfit. A lot would be solved by simply covering up. You do get an alternate costume for combat, but I don't believe it applies at the citadel/ship/.

It's not like they're going to be able to scrap it in a DLC without it seeming intentional through an "accident" in a cinematic. There's always the possibility of somehow "upgrading to a new model".

Good luck with this, BioWare. Yeah...
