Did Quentin cut off Leandra's head and sew it into his wife's body?

Yes and no. He took Leandra's head but the torso was actually assembled from the body parts of many other women.

This, Quentin was trying to Frankenstein his wife together from bits and pieces of other women (her hands, her feet, Leandra's head, etc.).

Yeah, pretty much what the others said. Quentin had been abducting women that bore resemblance to his dead wife in different ways, for example, one woman might have hand the same hands as his wife, another the same legs and so on. Once he had all the body parts he needed he stitched them all together but still needed to find a woman with the same face as his wifes (which is where Hawke's mother came in.)

... I'm not sure how this would have brought his wife back from the dead though? Perhaps he just wanted a look-alike... or maybe he had plans to try and bring her soul back from the fade and trap it in the newly prepared body? Honestly, I dread to think. :-S

Or maybe he was just off his rocker and thought simply recreating her body would bring her back, heaven knows what would have happened when the reality check hit him.

Some guys don't notice when their wives get angry and stop talking to them. Maybe as long as she looked the same, it was close enough. ;)

Maybe, although he was experimenting with the whole necromancy thing with Orsino helping him out with his research so presumably he was attempting to perform some sort of ritual.

I think the problem was that he couldn't bring his wife back from the dead. That's what really drove him mad and drove him to create a flesh golem that was identical to his wife.

Her entire head? I always thought it was just her face on other womens' skull/head/hair/neck. :o

(I was wondering why the hair looked like Leandra's! ... Disturbing mental image, that.)

It was her head. There's a line around her neck.

No kidding. Sometimes I wonder about my own mental health.Posted Image

... All he did was chop off her head? Huh. No offense to Leandra and everyone that likes her, but that seems really underwhelming by comparison.

And sewed it on to another body. What? That doesn't seem disturbing enough for you?

Would it help if I pointed out that he seems to have swapped out her eyes?

I thought the milky eyes were a result of being dead for a prolonged amount of time? :-S

I have to say it's the whole head only because she remembers Hawke -- unless it's just the face and brain. (Though if he were to transfer a brain, I think it would be based on someone who acted like his wife -- unless Leandra fit that criteria as well.)

My question is (and I think this makes me the sickest one here): How did he know which part made it seem like the same as being with his wife in bed?

Eeesh, that's a good question! Maybe he had to visit a lot of Brothels?

As for her remembering Hawke, I thought maybe after Hawke killed Quentin the spell was broken (she looked like maybe she was in a trance prior to that.) Maybe Hawke interupted the ritual or something?

This brings up an interesting question for me actually... If you choose a dark skinned Hawke whose mother is also dark skinned, does the body of his 'wife' still appear as light skinned? Like a dark skinned head on a white woman's body?

Good question. I had some dark skinned Hawkes but never got to that part in the game with them for various reasons. I'll have to do it now though. Just to find out.

You're officially my hero for checking that out. xD

Which just prompts the question.....if Leandra has to be 'lightened', clearly Quentin didn't look at her and think 'omg that looks like my wife'....

You don't find the idea of him carving her face off and sewing it onto another woman's skull, all while supposedly using blood magic to keep her alive and feeling every second of it, more distrubing than a comparatively clean cut along the neck?

Which reminds me: Do you think Leandra felt pain on that body? For that matter, do you think the pieces of all the other women could still feel pain during those several weeks Quentin was looking to complete his "bride," since they were all ripped off, stiched together and kept "alive" on an unnatural, incomplete body by Quentin's blood magic...

(There's a thought to fall to sleep to. Posted Image)

That could just be because she's dead so she looks paler?

Yeah, dark skin doesn't get paler after death.

No problem ^^
Meh, I wouldn't say that. My Grandfather is very pale but he and my father (who is very dark) look exactly alike. Differing skin colors don't negate similarity.

I wouldn't know, I've never seen a dead body. I just figured that people would look paler in general after being drained of blood and dead for a few hours.
