The ending was bad.
That's not really arguable by anyone but Bioware apologists or those just looking to be contrary. Yes we want more closure but the whole "our fans just couldn't let go" theory is hogwash. Introducing the Catalyst in the last 5 minutes with a few lines of dialogue will never work, the only thing adding more line and questioning the catalyst can do it polish a turd. A shiny turd is better than a dull one, but it's still a turd. Plus the host of other issues detailed in this thread and others.
And based upon the interview it doesn't seem like this has been radically changed or altered in any way, except for the closure issue and showing war assets in action. If it is I will gladly come back here on Tuesday and eat every helping of crow offered to me. You might ask what I expect them to do and my honest answer would actually be 'Nothing, but it would restore a lot of faith if they just admit they screwed up.' Internet bluster aside about holding the line and never buying from Bioware again people can be very forgiving so long as lessons were learned from mistakes made. But if Bioware can't even acknowledged that they were at fault and continue to claim that it's only because fans want "MOAR" then they've missed the entire problem. That is what is more worrisome than anything else so far.

Very sorry if this has been asked already but I really didn't want to sift through eight pages to see if it was. In the FAQ it said to load a saved game before the attack on the Cerberus base. After you complete the main campaign, you are automatically returned to the point the game just before the last attack.
So, is that the game we can load or do we actually have to back and load the original save game before that last attack?
You're safe to use the save after the final mission. It was Bioware's way of saying it was all a dream
That's good to know, hehe, I hope I have a save at the right spot!
and 1.9GB...that is a big DLC!!:OHope it's good news, too, hehe!

EC seems a little too big to be just cutscenes.

1.9gb is roughly an hour of full HD video footage. Another comparison - Lair Of The Shadow Broker (a HUGE dlc mission) was 1.5GB.

From the splash page:
"To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of the game."
Soooo... what if you don't have a save before then? I specifically saved at three points on Earth in anticipation for the Extended Cut (at the beginning, right before the final battle where you launch the missiles, and on the Citadel).
I'd rather not play through the entire game yet again, trying to replicate my decisions.
If you finish the game between now and when the EC is released the game will leave you at the moment right before you attack Chronos station.

They said in the interview that your choices make an impact on the galaxy afterward, so I'm guessing that there'll be different cutscenes for different people. Plus they may have changed some of the cutscenes during the Cerberus mission and Earth mission, so there may be that.

Remember to keep in mind that there is huge amount of variance, hopefully.
For example, the ending already available, after the big choice, offers, let's say, three minutes of video. That would mean that there is nine minutes total of the endings.
Accounting for all of the choices would mean that there are very short clips, or that some choices are shown longer than others.
Each ending will probably only be extended 3-6 minutes, at the most.

It's "YO DAWG" fallacy is going to stay
BlueGreenRed is going to stay.
That's not going to end well for you, BioWare.

Mass Effect as a series is what I'd call a future classic, much like how Unreal, Age of Empires, Civilization, Doom and such as considered classics today. The series as a whole is just remarkable, there's several sci-fi games out there but Mass Effect is probably the first that had players develop strong feelings for not only the main character but also the characters around him or her, Characters like Garrus, Liara, Tali, Wrex, Kaiden, Mordin, Legion..frankly all of them. Even Vega. Mass Effect put you in a sci-fi world where you felt like you had a impact.
It's been viewed as silly by other gamers, critics, people who came across the articles online this entire turmoil, We've been harsh. But at least in my opinion it's cause I want Mass effect to be great through and through, cause one day I'm certain I'll have my kid sit down, play it and have as much fun as I had and at the end of it I want him to have a smile rather then the confused look I had.
Regardless of the outcome, I haven't given up on you Bioware.
And I don't care if anyone here calls me naive because of it.

-More Romance material (hence the restart at the cerberus base)
-More Space Battle above earth
-More People to talk to at the London hub
-More Ground Battle cutscenes on earth
-Extended Godchild scene (investigate and exposition)
-ALOT of exposition after your choice
Hopefully and Happy Ending with Shepard remeeting with LI, but I'd put my money on funeral and remeberance.
