If they were to make a DA:O movie, Canada's Boreal Forest would make a perfect site for the Korcari Wilds, eh?

Or Louisiana's swamps... Flemeth is a lot like Marie Laveaux anyway, feasting on the souls of swamp folk.

Heheh, Louisiana would be a good place as well, I never thought of that. Who's Marie Laveaux? I've never heard of her.

As Ferelden is modelled on Scotland, I'm guessing the Wilds are meant to be akin to the Scottish Highlands.

The Bannorn seems more akin to Scotland's Highlands in my opinion. The Highlands are more like mountainous plains than forests. The geography of Ferelden on a whole seems like half Canada, half British Isles, lol.

Some voodoo sorceress type that is mythicized in and around New Orleans. Not sure her exact history but some of the tales say she was a man-eater and such.

You know how swamp folk are... their imaginations get the better of them, after years of methane inhalation.

I've never met any swamp folk myself. Perhaps this is a good thing? XD
