The collectors were only using tech that was provided to them by the reapers. Oculus drones also made an appearence in ME 3 and we fought one during the SM. Just because the reapers are using tech the collectors used doesn't mean the collectors are still around. Especialy considering the tech the collectors were using was just reaper tech anyway

Lore does matter when it comes to Mass Effect. and bioware games in general. If you don't care about Lore play CoD or Halo. But seeing as you only have ME 3 registered to your profile you have no appreciation for the series.

Herp derp, those would just be husks, marauders, what have you.
Collector were Prothean husks, stop trying to work around one of the biggest things in the ME universe (The protheans being completeley wiped out), Javik is an exception since it's a squadmate in SP, but not putting the entire point of ME2 to waste.

Sure, they could always repurpose another species to fill the role the collectors had but the collectors as we knew them (repurposed Protheans) are dead.

I would be surprised if the Collectors only had one ship... There was almost certainly another one busy abducting a colony while Sheperd attacked the base. Upon discovery that the base was destroyed they went into hiding to await the return of the Reapers.
And if you don't want to go with that, then the Collectors were all cloned anyway. The Reapers could probably just make more.

Normally I would agree with the last part, but I had an older account with all my games registered to it and it got banned so I had to start a new one, so you never know.
That, or the person just doesnt bother with registering his games, or just decided to sign up for BSN.

My god some people are stubborn mother ****ers,
It is implied that the remaining collectors after the prothean cycle all inhabited the base in the galactic core, even if all of them weren't in the base, they would be scattered with no way of reproducing without protheans (which are all DEAD) and would have no where near as many units of the factions you fight in multiplayer.
I'm done trying to make a point to you since it goes in ear and out the other, just don't expect collectors so you won't be dissapointed.

You should apply to be a moderator. You're doing a good job of armchairing it so far.
Anyways, The Collectors are, more or less, destroyed. Their leader is dead, their base was destroyed, and the survivors would be scattered across the galaxy.
But I'd still enjoy having to fight them. Having to fight Scions and Praetorians as boss units would be utterly insane. I'm all for having new enemies with different styles.
What I'd love to see more is a Merc faction... having to go against Sentinels, Engineers, and other enemies that would have very similar powers to the players. It would make for a more dynamic and entertaining experience, regardless of whether it fits with the story or not.

I probably wouldn't even care about that but since Sobbos was acting like an ass and showing no respect for what the series is about in general (the story) I made an assumpsation based on his asinine attitude. "Herr Derr story doesn't matter even though it is a bioware game".
Funny thing is normaly I am giving story fans crap about not caring about gameplay but really there are extremists on both sides of the gameplay/story thing. Most people would understand the importance of both.
