Collectors as NEW enemy

This thread has been a 1000 times over and each time I will say the same thing "all new enemies and modes are a welcome addition. It sure beats playing a totally stagnant game.

Collectors are clones derived from the stock of a huge galactic empire. You really think they were all on a single space base, and Shep blew them all up? Really?!
We know for a fact Collector swarms are still around. There is no reason to believe the Collectors are extinct like the Rachni... Oops!
The reapers are not careless. They did not convert every single prothean into a collector. They just whipped up the number of collectors they needed not more. It makes sense the reapers kept the collectors number small. They didn't want anyone to draw the connection between the collectors and the reapers.

An empire that was completley irradicated.
Idiot.
Yes, but the rachni weren't hunted by a race of extremley powerful synthetics who have been wiping out civilizations without a trace for millions of years, AND wiping out the Rachni wasn't the goal of an entire Mass Effect game.
Just stop.

Do you mean irradiated? That wouldn't make much sense! Learn basic English before you start calling others an "idiot".
Where are you getting your information, anyway?! Where was it implied that all the Collectors were on a single space station?! That isn't ever implied!
Also, you fail to understand that Mordin has studied the Colloctors, and found that they are simply bio-mechanical clones. It is nothing for the Reapers to make more, even if the far-fetched idea that every single Collector was somehow on one single base.

So why did the collector attacks stop after we destroyed all of the ones in the galactic core? What would have been the point of the SM or ME 2 if we didn't shut down the collectors permanently? Bringing back the collectors would be like bringing back Saren

I'm very skeptical that the Protheans we fought in ME2 were the same ones that Javik fought back in his day. I mean, sure they converted Protheans into Collectors, but 50,000 years have passed since the first generation of Collectors were made.
During Mass Effect 2, while exploring the Collector ship, Shepard stumbles upon a Collector body that was being experimented on. I believe the Collectors you fight in ME2 were more than likely engineered from freeze-dried Prothean DNA. Regardless of how long Collectors would live, many are going to die of 50,000 years. You need to be able to replentish your numbers. Like I said, I got the impression that the Collectors were just bioengineered for millennia, losing most of what made them Prothean with each generation.

Even if the collectors were not wiped out, harbinger stopped controlling them at the end of ME2. Without their master they can not function for themselves. Now, the reapers new tools are "the reaper" faction, effectively replacing their need for the collectors anyway.

It makes perfect sense but some of these people still won't get it.

If we defeat the Harvestor, have it to where we are granted more credits:D. Say and extra 15,000 to 25,000. But only if we defeat the Harvestor. So make it hard.
I think you need to use more emoticons to really drive your point home.

The collectors were cloned over time and from generation to generation but the reapers kept a cap on the number of collectors they had and for good reason.

You can make improvements without screwing the lore and so far it seems bioware has kept the MP true to the lore.

I'm gonna side with this here, even EDI states that they're just heavily augmented clones now, the original Prothean Husks having died out or had been replaced.Funky_D_Luffy wrote...

We're talking about a self proclaimed immortal race of sentient starships who obliterate organic life every 50,000 years or so, created the Citadel and Mass Relays...and cloning more Collectors is somehow thought to be outside of their abilities?
I mean really, their troop list is pretty much already done; Drones, Assasins, Guardians, Scions, Praetorians, Abominations, plain Husks even.
Why anyone would want to argue AGAINST a new foe is beyond me. Fighting the same three groups forever would get boring beyond belief.

Yup, nice fanboy logic kotor, because we all know how lore is more important than fun or a break from the extremely repetitive gameplay Mass Effect has to offer.

Lore does matter when it comes to Mass Effect. and bioware games in general. If you don't care about Lore play CoD or Halo. But seeing as you only have ME 3 registered to your profile you have no appreciation for the series.
I don't have the other games registered because I didn't feel the need to seeing how I didn't frequent the forums at all for those games. Besides, even with lore, there will always be loopholes to make such a thing as collectors a possible enemy.

The biggest loop hole is its BIOWARES GAME not ours so they can add whatever the hell they want and no one can stop them

Man... BW can just invoke the all powerful "space magic" and bring back Saren as an army of clones, and call them Marauder Shields, or something.
Again... How many times have we heard the Rachni are extinct? They sure keep popping up a lot for being extinct, don't you think?!
We know Collector swarms were deployed on Palaven. Why would this imply that the Reapers have a secret stock of Swarms, but no Collectors?
I believe the only reason Collectors were not encountered in ME3 was a simple programming issue. They had enough enemies for the few missions offered. Unless they were a prevalent enemy, then programming them in for one of two encounters would be too time consuming, and expensive. The Geth were underused, but I couldn't imagine throwing Collectors into the SP for just a mission, or two.
They should certainly be used as MP enemies, though.

Especially considering very little work would need to be done maybe touching up the models a tad and then programing them in

No, I know this is the MP and some people that play MP don't always care about the story but ME 3's MP is still connected to the story (and I am not talking about just getting your galactic readiness score up). Our MP characters are still fighting in the same war Shepard is and in ME 2 the collectors were destroyed and they need to stay that way.
This can be tossed out the window with just one thing: gameplay. What gameplay? That gameplay with unchanging factions that is getting tired and old. We need new enemies. Mercenaries are one possibility, Collectors are another. Don't **** on people's ideas (which would also greatly help MP's lifespan) just because it supposedly clashes with lore. You know what? **** lore.

Bringing back one prothean that was in stasis is not the same as bringing the entire race back. *facepalm* try thinking for a change.

They could easily explain the collectors want revenge on the n7 for causing them to lose the reaper backing there is no way every single collector is gone

Because cloning doesn't exsist in the mass effect series.

It'd be sweet to see some Geth Armitures (like out of ME1 and ME2), Reaper Harvesters (or some other kind of reaper, but I don't think a harvester would work on some of the maps), and Cerberus... somethings. What are the other types of cerberus units? I haven't play SP in a while.
Edit: Like a rachni queen instead of a harvester thats big like an atlas.
Perhaps some mechs from ME2?
