It is possible that Vega may have been confused given the situation, but Ferris Fields (which was mentioned in ME 2) was hit after Freedom's Progress but before Horizon which implies that the colonies were still only being hit one at a time and the fact that Shepard kept running into the same collector cruiser implies that is all they had (I may be wrong about there just being one cruiser) but either way the collectors had very finite resources if they could not make multiple hits on colonies at the same time which implies the collectors were destroyed during the SM.  And either way Harbinger stopped controlling them anyway.

True enough, most evidence does point to the Collector's only have one ship since the same one from Horizon and the subsequent ambush also destroyed the original Normandy.

Still, as I said all it would take is for there to be one more of those ships out there to justify Collectors as MP enemies. And as far as Harbinger abandoning them, I doubt the Reapers as a whole would abandon any resource like the Collectors if there were still any usable force of them left. I mean, if they would abandon a Collector force to just collect dust...(er, no pun intended) then why would they bother corrupting and using Geth even after they failed Sovereign?

I love how OP thinks he is so creative and original for coming up with this, when this exact same thread has been repeated over 3562 times.

Here's hoping for a lock.

Not only repeated...but cloned....

There was a thread wanted wave 11 on gold to become a "Mega Boss" wave.
Harvesters for Reaper, Airships for Cerberus and those big super tank things for Geth...
Or the one about having an "Endless" mode that started off with very little lower grade enemies at the beginning...and eventually became endless waves of the toughest enmies...till everyone died...and it would have a "objective" wave every 3 "waves"

EDIT: don;t get me wrong...these threads are what keeps the ideas alive and MIGHT make BioWare consider some of them...

they better add a new enemy fast or ME MP as much as I love it will die off, fast if we have to continually fight the same 3 factions. i dont care if its something random like Collector zombies or just simply Merc groups but we need something... Im one of the biggest ME fans... Die hard... but even I admit that the same 3 enemies are getting old. need a change.

You can add new enemies without breaking lore.  Adding collectors without some sort of explanation added to the singleplayer via dlc would break lore and nullify the suicide mission.

I don't really care if they break lore for MP, I'm getting tired of fighting the same 3 enemies all the time. I actually play a lot less then I used to partially because of it, (and there's tons of other good games out there as well)

The collecters where fun as hell to fight in ME2, Wasn't there Harbingers in ME3? I could have sworn I faced a few.

Not all the Collectors died. Some ships were still out kidnapping colonies when the base was destroyed. I'd be fine with some collector stragglers being enemies in MP. It wouldn't really be lore breaking since the writers themselves confirmed not all the collectors were destroyed. Just the vast majority

Some sort of explanation?!

You are the only one that thinks all the Collectors are dead! Why should BW bend over backwards just for you, and your faulty logic?

You keep saying this same thing, over, and over, and over... "It nullifies the suicide mission".

Do you know what nullifies a suicide mission...?

SURVIVING THE G**D*** F****** SUICIDE MISSION!!! *throwing things*

You have to have some of the dumbest arguments in the history of this board!

I'd be fine with either The Collectors or the various Merc groups becoming new enemies. Shouldn't be too hard, just take the stuff from ME2, polish it up & place it in ME3.

It is like the guy is confusing "Suicide" with "Xenocide".

It was NEVER mentioned that the Collectors were all wiped out. Further, they have been used on Palaven in the Reaper War.

These are facts that he just can't, and won't deal with. Instead, he makes up his own lore, and cries about how it isn't ME lore!

Just so confounding!

My god some people are stubborn mother ****ers,
It is implied that the remaining collectors after the prothean cycle all inhabited the base in the galactic core, even if all of them weren't in the base, they would be scattered with no way of reproducing without protheans (which are all DEAD) and would have no where near as many units of the factions you fight in multiplayer.

I'm done trying to make a point to you since it goes in ear and out the other, just don't expect collectors so you won't be dissapointed.

This debate could go on for some time but the most dangerous enemy that  we could face in multiplayer is...

Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog!

They have, nasty, big, pointy teeth. Instakill is certain if you get anywhere near them!

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch is effective but this weapon is an ultra rare!

You have been warned!

Ok douchey mcdouchester explain where it says in official media that the collectors aren't all dead.  Also if you weren't such a moron you would realize the whole point of the Suicide Mission was to take out the collectors.

Show me where it says they ARE!!!

Do you even know the difference between suicide and genocide (xenocide)?! You are questioning MY intelligence?!

The point of the mission was never about commiting xenocide on the entire race of Collectors. Where do you even get that? Nevermind... You are just making things up, and pretending that it is lore, just so you can be a whiney snot about it.

You consistantly ignore the facts. Your credibility is nil, and you are delusional about Collectors not fitting lore. Your point that Collectors not meeting lore in MP is so shot full of holes, and you still argue against it!

Why don't you whine about the Geth misplaced in lore? Huh? Why don't you cry about the reapers using extinct Rachni? Huh? Oh... Please tell us for the hundredth time that it negates the reason for a suicide mission, in which there was no suicide.

Adding; Look at your Manifest! You don't even play MP! You don't even have the right to do so much squeaky whining when you don't even play it! You are just trolling at this point. No credibility at all.

Sorry to interject here. That Collector ship thats been "dogging" Shep for years, you land on, etc, it'd only been that one. Could there be a possibility that there could've been multiple ships, or atleast a sister ship, harvesting other parts of the galaxy? Or even another base in another galaxy even. The universe is huge, but we are confined to the Milky Way. The Reapers come from outside the galaxy don't they? Why can't they have more Collectors stationed out with them to continue reaping? The Protheans were selected as the primary race at the time to become the Collectors. Wouldn't it make sense that the Reapers would bring their, essentially slave race, with them to extend their reaches into other parts of the universe?

Or have I missed something on Twitter? :-O

But I can also see that the Collectors were meant to be destroyed in ME2. Forever. But MP needs something fresh. Enemy faction or game-mode.

:-)

If anyone disagrees with KotorEffect3, he will private message you using filthy language, and call you names, but he still won't have a salient point. Oh, then he tell you not to message back, because he blocked you.

adding a new enemy would benefit the MP experience and it doesnt have to break the lore. i dont understand why people are so against expansion in the game.

Was that about adding new enemy types to already existing factions?

I'm not entirely against that, but I think it would be much easier to pop in an already made faction, like the Collectors, expediently, and even cost effectively.

Adding new enemy types would certainly be interesting, but may really interfere with balance.

If they added a wave 12 (where 11 would now be the 'boss' wave), that'd be sweet. A bunch of teamwork against one enemy would be a nice change from just kill everyone... Like in ME2's tali mission against the armature, where your squad worked one side and you worked the other (most times). Also, I'm under the impression that that Collector base was not the only place where they existed. It says (somewhere...) they they rarely appear and buy strange things. How are we to know that's the only place they've lived? Wouldn't they have other ships to take human colonists that could still be floating?

Also - Firebase Dagger really needs to have the shuttle pick you up at the correct extraction point.

I have thought about a mode that was much like a SP mission (think rescue the downed Turians on Tuchanka), where the team has to move through a winding poind, and fight off waves along the way. At the end...? Fight an Armature? Harverster? Even a Reaper Destroyer?

This really depends on programming work. So the reason I fight so hard for Collectors, is that they are pretty much a ready made faction, with character models, maybe even AI already done, and could be dropped on us ASAP.

There is nothing inherently lore breaking about bringing the Collectors in ME3. ME3 already established canonically through James that the Collectors had more than one ship (at least two), so what's so crazy about saying the had three... or five?

The surviving Collectors obviously had to keep a low profile, since without a base they could no longer clone new speciments... Now that the bosses are here they can come out of hiding again, and once again serve their masters in war...
I don't see a problem with it...

Sticking to the lore in every little damn point is BS. You already fight 3 factions on all the maps.
From the point of wiev with "lore-philia": Why the hell would be a Krogan, Vorcha or Batarian fight on Thessia? And for more why against Geth?

Go F yourself with the lore-breaking crap. MP definitely needs more of everything. Collectors would be a good implement. No one in galaxy can know if reapers do not have another bases with millions of collectors with another purpose. The one destroyed in ME2 means only one thing - the Ones who were abducting human colonies to create human reaper are dead, nothing more.

I will welcome anything new in MP: collectors, mercs, new game modes, enemies, weapons,
any stuff to freshen it a little...
I want to fight scions, harvesters, armatures, colossus, varrens, kroganclones, spacehamsters etc....and I don't give a single f-ing s-t about anyones cries of some MP lorebreaking issues.
Everything could be added even to lore - like it is now, no need to be perfect in MP.

So Bioware, keep doing new DLCs if its "programmable" and many players will also pay for it. Me for sure...

Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

I used to think that I would draw the line at Hanar Vanguards, and even Prothean player characters, but you know what...? I've played Saints Row the Third, and nothing can out-wacky that game. Not to mention... It was actually fun, as well.

So at this point in experiece with the game (unlike the whingers with very little experience), I would happily fiht off a hoard of Darkspawn.
