One final time: Pls do not promote other game material in this thread. Make another thread for that MMO if you wish, but not here. Thanks!

First go get a mod and second I was showing how TOR's early screenshots don't even compare to Elder Scrolls Online even though they are the same engine. It was on topic not spam.

Like the art style. I am talking about aesthetics not graphics. Sure the hero engine isn't pretty, but monster design is awful.

This is what Zenimax has managed to squeeze out of the Hero Engine fyi they aren't sticking with this engine just seems like Zenimax spent more time on the engine.

Legacy at itself isn't doing anything worthwhile on its one. I'm not interested to adopt my Zabrak or marry my smuggler. Faction cross mail is nice, but what for?

To send your alts items. I find it extremely useful with my alts as I'm levelling up.

It can be a real chore just as bad if not worse than grinding in any other MMO. Leveling another character to the same exact content TOR needs some kind of alternate way to level up. Final Fantasy XIV will now allow players to solely craft if that is all they want to do no need for combat.

Frankly, I kinda have this mixed feeling about TESO. The problem is Matt Firor and his team probably knows nothing of TES lore, and TESO would probably mess up there. How in the hell does the Argonians form an alliance with Dunmer?

Have to admit, TESO doesn't look too bad.

Its not a chore if you only do the class quests and pvp and do shared content to level up. BW are making it easier to do this in the 1.3 patch.

Some of TOS pics don't look half bad aye. After TOR though, I just can't imagine I'd never like an MMO that comes with Hero underneath the engine hood.. Based solely on TOR, Hero just can't survive from a number of functions I'd like to see an MMO engine surviving.

The class quests + PvP model sounds good on paper but playing PvP games after games just to outlevel the story content and do the story content is also grindy and tedious, even if you enjoy PvP.

Not everyone enjoys pvp much less pvp handled by Gabe Amatangelo and it's still as much of a grind. Pvp game after pvp game and I'm not even allowed to choose which warzone I want. Looking at some sandbox MMO's would be a good way to get some fresh ideas like I said I'll be picking up FFXIV just because of the crafting changes. Now if Bioware would add an entertainer well then...

Elder Scrolls Online is NOT using the Hero Engine. Zenimax is doing the right thing by creating their own inhouse engine.

v 1.3 is now ready, and the Main Site is back on-line after maint. It took more time than usual to complete, so give yourself extra time for DL, too. Here are the patch notes:

There are several, and keep in mind they only apply for the character you unlock them on.

275k for 30% increased Warzone experience.
275k for 30% increased Flashpoint experience.
150k for 30% increased Space Combat experience.
275k for 30% increased class Mission experience.
175k for 30% increased Exploration experience.

I unsubbed from swtor today. 1.3 ruined the game and did not deliver half of the things that it should have.

I also received an infraction for saying on their forums "thanks for nothing". Who gives an infraction for that?

Because of my experience in this game I will now be avoiding ANYTHING from bioware in the futrue. They are not the company that they used to be.

They only apply to the character you unlock them on, so don't purchase them on your level 50.

Can you elaborate on this a little bit? The game hasn't really changed other than adding features like LFG and Ranked Warzones. Just curious.

Tthe latest Q&A had one inquiry that seems to be pertinant to a couple of the classes recently discussed:

caravaggio: The last few major patches have seen significant changes to the Sniper/Gunslinger Marksman/Sharpshooter tree. Can you talk a little bit about how you guys envision the class and what was not working that caused you to decide changes needed to be made? Do you think that 1.3 brought you closer to where you want to be or do you still see areas in the tree that need improvement?

Austin Peckenpaugh (Senior Designer)
:

Marksmanship and Sharpshooter have been a challenge to "get right" to be sure. Apart from cover and cover gameplay in general, Marksmanship and Sharpshooter have had a few specific hurdles for us to overcome. Thematically, these guys are high weapon damage specs, and that means that they can be easily countered (or even shut down) with a cooldown like Deflection. On the other hand, when their target is defenseless, their high weapon damage can actually become a little overwhelming.

These specs are also highly cover-dependent, and it has been a difficult task to communicate to players that in most cases they're better off holding their ground than kiting like a Sorcerer or Sage would. Of course, even that depends on having chosen a good cover spot to begin with. We face the issue of rewarding clean shots from cover while not making extended stays overpowered.

To answer you more directly, our vision for these specs hasn't changed, but I think we're striking much closer to that target than we have in the past. I'm really quite happy with Marksmanship and Sharpshooter in Game Update 1.3. Prior to this update, these skill trees fell apart at the top tiers, so we really wanted to address that and reward the full-spec Marksmanship and Sharpshooter. They now have the tools to stand their ground when they need to, they have better energy management than ever before, and their gameplay is smoother, simpler, and more rewarding. That's not to suggest there aren't issues, but I expect most issues can be addressed with minor tweaks in the future.

A little more info on Sub vs F2P access in SWTOR:

Official F2P Announcement | 07.31.2012, 08:06 PM

We have some information about this in the FAQ (http://www.swtor.com...helpcenter/6526). Here's the question and answer for you:

What happens if I decide to change from being a subscription player to a Free-to-Play member? What will happen to my credits, inventory, bank items, and characters?

Your account will automatically be downgraded and it will operate under the Free player restrictions. You will need to choose what items to keep with you within the restriction levels of the free access. Furthermore, you will be able to see, but not use, your excess credits, inventory slots, bank tabs, and extra characters.

Hope this helps clear it up a little!

Looking at the changes for patch 1.4 which are now on the PTS it it occurs to me that I now find Bioware's management of the game post launch astonishingly bad on the whole. Pretty much every major change has been mishandled and continues to be with 1.4. Playing GW2 I have no desire to go back to swtor.

Would you give examples of SWTOR mishandling changes? While not a fan of PvP, it would seem some changes there would lead to more tactical play for everyone.
