Ok, this has probably been brought up before but, as the search function is trolling me today, I'm bringing it up again.

Is there any chance the store might be updated to allow pack gifting to other players? I'm an xbox player and Microsoft eliminated points gifting some time back and doesn't allow card or code purchases below 1600 points anymore. From time to time, I'd like the ability to offer a couple of packs to friends, particularly awesome new players I meet on XBL, or (in the case of this weekend's operation) hand a few out to try and get the required characters for people who don't have them.

It would be nice if it could be handled via the BSN and BioWare points. I mean we can already claim packs from purchased products here, cross-platform, and expanding that might (and I say might as I have no clue how the back end of the system works) be the easiest solution.  Granted this kind of thing wouldn't allow purchases via in-game credits, but I'm not opposed to shelling out a few bucks for deserving folks here and there.

I understand I'm in the minority here as a significant faction of the BSN seems to enjoy belittling anyone who pays money, but I'm talking about the opportunity to give another player a bit of a leg up every now and again. Heck, even a credit donation system might be a way to make it happen. I honestly would just like the ability to toss a pack or two around to friends and fellow players somehow.

I like this idea, could go a long way towards making the community more friendly and welcoming imo.

Agreed. I'm not against people who want to use their own money to pay for in game content. It's their money, let them do as they wish. Gifting system would be nice but unsure of how it would work as there's no way as of yet of searching for players in MP so how would you extend a gift? I know when you're in a lobby, you have the option to kick, maybe add a button to gift.

I wouldn't mind shelling out to help friends to get packs either. Good idea OP.

The reason it won't happen is the same reason microsoft stopped letting people gift points.

Someone in Nigeria will hack your account for $2 worth of virtual goods.
They'll tell you they will give you a Black Widow X if you give them 60,000 credits for the transfer fees but the BW never shows.
