Still think that killing the hero of a video game is not creative, not artistic but just a lame try...It's overdone lately - I'm SICK of it...

I don't play enough games, I guess. The last one I played where the hero dies was DA:O, and that's only by the player's own free choice.

What recent games have the protagonist dying?

 Fallout 3...

Protagonist survives if you either:

A: Get Sarah Lyons to activate the purifier
B: Have the Broken Steel DLC.

Incidentally, I was playing DA2 when Varric said something to Anders that I thought was ironic.

"It dosen't make a great story if the hero dies".

No, it makes an awesome story (L.A. Noire).

The extended cut was ok it does make things better in a way, It gives you the hope we were looking for Image IPB I think , amongst other things.

I thought the additional cut scenes with your Love Interest were great, I had pictured in my mind that exact scene with Liara, I was amazed to see it. I feel my speculation was on track Image IPB

I would like to see more of Femshep and Liara, please Image IPB , extra DLC for single player in ME3

I want a mass effect 4, the last cut scene when they are talking about the Shepard I would really like to here that story, it makes me think that more happened after the war ended, there has to be more???? Right???

Thanks

stalker: shadow of chernobyl (spelling?)
anyway its another game where the hero dies at the end. of course their is a way not to die but its more of an easter egg kinda deal.

another note: i still havent beat ME3, i seen the trend in the story and figure shepard would die at the end. also one of the lines in the begining cut scene gave it away, then with the following trend of characters dieing at the end of mission after the 1st couple missions made it easier to foresee what was coming.
then there was the mysterious catalyst, it just made me think of the "the 5th element" movie and i figured my character was the catalyst. so i lost intrest. i only made it as far as the curing the genophage b4 i got bored.

They won't get me to shell out for mass effect 4 till we get a ME3 worthy of the series, and since  that isn't going to happen... as far as I'm concerned Bioware shot themselves in the foot, with a M-920 Cain.

Mass Effect 3 might not be perfect, but despite everything I feel that there is still so much potential to go from here Image IPB there are so manny posibilites

It certainly has potential, but after this headache I suppose it is more of a "once bitten, twice shy" type thing. Probably more of a grudge I won't let go of easily. If the game is good, who knows, maybe I'll rent the game of the year edition, but not preordering, not buying without looking at user reviews. No faith in Bioware like I used to have.

Even though I am incredibly disapointed with ME3 and no longer feel a need to play 1 and 2 (was really looking forward to replaying all 3 and seeing different endings, but all I have to do is replay the last mission) I certainly see this as a stepping stone for future scifi games.

Thank you BioWare for the extended cut endings. They where great and finished the story for me. And thank you Chris Priestly for putting up with all the complaining. The next news that I would like to hear is about new story mode DLC. Is it in the works and how long will we have to wait for it to come out?

I would like to see Mass Effect 4 reflect Shepard's choice at the end of Mass Effect 3. The control ending would be a great thing to see played out in Mass Effect 4. A giant Shepard reaper talking to my team for the whole game would be a awesome thing. Or the destroy ending resulting with Shepard surviving and having children. Or even a outside force coming in and trashing the utopia that was brought forth in the synthisis ending.

I liked the extended cut ending. I also would like to thank Bioware for listening to the fans and giving the game the ending it kinda deserved.

I feel that Mass Effect 3 was a bit incomplete at the time of it's launch. But I want to take time out to thank the Mass Effect 3 team of expanding and explaining the ending of the game. They did a lot of work to bring us this new DLC. Unlike many people I feel that dispite all of the tech problems, glitches and story hiccups Mass Effect 3 was a great game and I have enjoyed playing it since March.

EC was good, even though there was still very little closeur for crew/LI. Everything else was better done though.

I'm very interested in a ME4 which takes place in the near future after ME3 (maybe 10 - 15 years?). Close enough in the future that survivours from the previous ME games can make appearances, but far enough that there can be a new team. However, no matter where it takes place, I'm sure that I would play any future ME games.

Well I must say I'm very happy with the "Extended Cut" DLC!

The plot-holes have been resolved, and the extended endings explained **** and added the needed closure.

Had BioWare done this from the start many of us wouldn't have RAGED so hard...
The original endings and last 15min of the game was so half-assed it was ridiculous!
It wouldn't have come to this had the QA guys done thier jobs in the first place or the game had not been rushed...

**PLEASE DO NOT F-UP LIKE THIS AGAIN BIOWARE!!!**

Now I await more SP and MP DLC! :D

I'm 99.9999% sure that this is not the QA people's fault. All you can do as a QA person is say : "YO, there's a bunch of mistakes here that need fixing, really really bad."

After that, it's up to the devs and production to decide whether to fix them or not. If release dates are being rushed, mistakes are just overlooked and left to posterity, after the producers have made their return on investment.

It's an awful position to be in. Your job is to check for errors so they can get fixed. And very often they don't.

Respect to the QA peoples of the world!!!

:D

must say the EC was better, but i still just cant bring myself to play ME3, one of the biggest let downs. although the game pre-ending was perfect imo, ME3 was supposed to be all about the endings, so we could replay over and over again from ME1 to see what happens. I get that all the conclusion to side stories (rannoch, tuchunka, etc etc) were very good and perfect conclusions in themselves, and we could replay for months to get all the endings, but the grand scale final battle (earth) was good, but was supposed to be spectacular and leave us breathless, and imo, longer, so it ultimately failed to deliver, and the endings, which do not change very much, destroy the replayability of the whole trilogy. I guess this game is just a rough draft to what could have been. instead of getting game of the year and going down as a masterpiece, it will go down as a case study of how NOT to end a perfectly amazing trilogy. "Sigh" Bioware, i will not buy another game from you guys, i have no more faith in you. Ill keep my ME games, because theyre that awesome, but i consider them an end to an era.

EDIT: i was also (while playing through this game) so immersed in and moved by the story that this game became more than a game. but with endings and a final grand scale battle (earth) that are just not worthy of the series and ME3 pre-ending, this game became just another shooter.

Thanks alot for the Extended cut, it sure made the game feel alot better as a whole.
As many have already pointed out, why stop with shepard? I'm pretty sure the majority of the people who have played this trilogy wouldn't mind you guys making yet another Mass Effect about shepard.
You even have the possibility to make a new trilogy, with a completely new story after the aftermath of ME3. But for the love of god... Make it about shepard, ME == Shepard, atleast in my mind...

Exactly! I want a sequel to this trilogy (new story arc or not) with Shepard. Maybe I played this the wrong way but for me Mass Effect was and will always be about Shepard, no other way to put it. A new character with a new name, a new face with a new background is not appealing to me anymore. Rpgs need a main actor, and that protagonist is Shepard
