Honestly, I'm feeling like the EC is just gonna be a waste and not really do much for fans. I'd be shocked if it did given it's coming out so soon and what the content is in there.
Waste? naa...you can't have too much mass effect.
Even if it doesn't resolve all issues..the fact that they did this, for free, shows that at least they do actually care about the product they put out.
Why?
Well, one of two reasons...either they fully plan on spamming out a new story soon...starting a new character in the future type thing..perhaps to sort out the whole dark energy issue growing in the backdrop, or because they simply want to make their product as good as possible without risking their desired ending collapsing...either way, it is a good move.....name another company that would do that for free...
The ending wasn't crappy...it just was not fitting...this ec is just a bridge from the game I played (the three games I played) to the seemingly unrelated ending....as good as it was...still didn't make sense for my shep). Honestly, I don't expect it to somehow make more sense. I just hope bioware has learned a lesson here for future titles it creates...and maybe get a lot of fan feedback in focus groups before even starting to implement things in the upcoming titles. To me, that would be the best outcome of this whole ending debate.
2 gig of new stuff in a few months. makes me wonder why we aren't seeing a new mass effect title every 12 months...
