I am literally sick to my stomach with worry right now over this. I knew a lot of things I didn't like about the ending were still going to be intact from earlier announcements, but now that it's all here and real...I dunno. I can't see how this is going to save the endings, let alone the franchise.
However, I am reserving any real judgement until I actually see it for myself. I have also a bunch of pros (and cons) about what I'm hearing:
Pros:
- 2 gigs of content. That's quite a bit...hopefully it will be good stuff.
- They say the endgames in EC will play out based on previous choices, something I thought was severely, severely lacking about the endings as they are. I hope they're not embellishing here, because doing something like this will redeem the ending a lot in many peoples' eyes, even if new endings aren't there.
Cons:
- No new endings: Sorry guys, but I think this was the best happy medium. You keep the choices we have intact, but add new ones so players feel like they get to have "their Shepard's" ending. There really needed to be a wider range for the finale. Also, many people feel like the current choices have morally abhorrent themes (I am one of them), and it's a shame those have to be the only ones.
- Still pigeonholed: I have a feeling we're still going to be pigeonholed into undesirable circumstances, ones where no choice we ever made could avoid the outcome...like the SR2 being stranded, the relays being destroyed, etc.
So there you have it. I hope this at least makes what is there easier to swallow, but honestly, I never felt like "clarity and closure" was the issue. So...this will not address my issue, unfortunately.
+1
And also
Clarity & Closure was one of THE ISSUES. Well, let's wait & see but as many I'm not expecting too much.
And after some a long period of silence, here is the podcast, well poslished and PR like, not a good sign too ...

Your ending is still overshadowed by others infinetly your greater.
That which you know as Marauder comics is your salvation through destruction.
You have failed, we will find another way.
Releasing control.

When you finish the game (original ending) it takes you back to before the cerberus base anyway.Stance Punk wrote...
so if we don't have a save before the Cerberus base, we have to play through the whole game?

From what Jessica has previously
said on Twitter and some devs have said on these forums it appears that
they are changing at least one major aspect of the ending in the
destruction of the relays and its lasting effect of hindering space
travel. The Stargazer scene makes it plain and clear that even long
after the relays are destroyed space travel is not possible. But Jessica
and several devs have said that the relays being destroyed doesn't mean
new ones can't just be built. The game itself says otherwise, but if
they're willing to change that aspect of the ending then why not more?
Why not ditch the GodChild altogether?

I felt like the ghost child actually made sense, what didn't make sense was it's choices and why they were reaping the galaxy.
Having the ghost child but having the endings based more on the original dark energy + gravity stuff involving the Big Rip would of been better.
Well it actually doesn't have to make sense to you as long as it makes sense to them.
I mean, if it would make sense to you, then you'd have to agree with them, hu?
I actually agree with what they're doing, sticking up for what they put out regardless of what their original plans are.
I just happen to like their original plans better :/

I'm sorry but that was one really boring mission I was hoping I could just load up a save I made before the run to the end.
