Well, hopefully if they lose customers they may do something. Probably not, knowing EA. Speaking of which.magnetite wrote...
Actually I meant a year full of single player content.I won't buy any of it if this ending isn't satisfactory. Nobody else should either.
This statement kind of makes me think the fans created this game and that we have the right to change it. Unfortunately, we did not. We are not the creators of this game, but rather the consumers.
I hate using that term, but we didn't make any of levels, voice work, textures, etc. Therefore, we're just along for the ride.

BUT......if they somehow with this new DLC manage to fix their previous mistakes, then i will chalk up that first attempt as a horrible mistake and BioWare will still be a company worth putting my money into.

Fair enough. However, some of the vehement fan reaction is no better. Sure, many of them are sweet and kind fans, but making snide and personally inflammatory remarks in any ME-related conversation is not the proper reaction, either--no matter the cause.
There's no question that's true. There is a segment of this, and lets face it every, game fanbase that is basically a noxious combination of non-existent social skills and Internet bravado. Loud and overbearing on the forums and in comments but put them in a public situation and they are nowhere to be seen (ie. PAX East ME Panel ... not a peep .. not a word .. not a gesture). And with them come their opposites, the trolls who are just as obnoxious and just as silent if you were talking to them face to face.
The difference for me is I expect those guys to exist. I know they're going to come out of the woodwork talking about how they're gonna push someone down stairs. Just like I expect someone to come yammering through about "whinning" or "entitled". It's all white noise and flapping gums to me. But Bioware ..... I don't expect people from Bioware to tell me that it's raining and when I look down and tell them, "No .. you're peeing on my leg." They look down and say again, "Man .. it sure is raining hard."

However i hope you realise you're now in the make or break time. This may just cement whether people leave or stay. As much as i'm interested in Dragon age 3, especially after i saw the rather good Dawn of the Seeker, I'm ready to just cut my losses.
Yeah man, thats pretty annoying. Fortunately i think i kept at least one before that.Silent Rage wrote...
Love how anyone that doesn't have a save before Cerberus Base is screwed.
I still feel Casey and Mac are misunderstanding things and really, when you have no idea what happened with something, you fall back to logic and evidence, which brought us the conclusion that either the mass relays erased everything or everyone's going to starve to death. Because no one knows how to build mass relays and we know a Mass relay blowing up wipes out an entire solar system. Then cam the Indoctrination theory. Which really would have been a much better thing, even though it did force you into a single option.
The only part i am interested in at the moment is the Epilogue, but if a small piece of something is just invented to solve all the problems, then i'm out.
Reaper's Armeggedon, out. Hold the Line.

Do they say specifically anywhere that you can't use the post ending save that is in fact pre-Cerberus?

I'm sorry that I wasn't intelligent enough to comprehend your original vision for Mass Effect Bioware, but you holding my hand isn't going to make me appreciate the endings any more than I do now, nor is it going to give the 3 months I spent glued to this godforsaken forum back.

I can't wait for this to come out, if only so people will quit rambling on about IT. Deus ex machina is lazy storytelling, but "it was all a dream" is even less clever, by far.
That's what I'm hoping for too. I hope it utterly CRUSHES the indoctrination theory into such a fine powder than not even all the tears of the poor deluded souls who subscribe to it will be able to make anything with it!

The only thing I could ever come up with that made the least bit of sense is that after the beam strike, any remaining team is picked up during the whole time you are unconcious/talking to blueboy. They then decide that the only way into the Citadel is to head to Ilos and get the conduit going again.
Now while that makes sense why they'd be in transit and running from the battle ... it opens up a GIANT can of worms because then the 50-story high question becomes, why didn't they just do that to start the mission and be done with the "lets run through the Reaper strewn streets of London"?
Will be interesting to see if what they come up with makes any sense.

Listening to the podcast, somehow i'm feel dread.
Same here, I have no good expectations for this extended cut. Bioware lied flat out before, the hype is all gone. I have my save file all ready to play after I download it, but the ending itself was so disgraceful I can't see how they're going to clear everything up. They say the intended message of the ending was not a galaxy destroyed with everyone stranded and starving to death, but that's what we were led to conclude. I'd really love to see what their intended message for the ending is because we sure didn't feel the same way they did about it. The ending was just completely broken in my opinion. A half assed attemp to throw something together that turned into a steaming pile of crap very quickly. The comment in the podcast at 8:58 says all we need to hear: "The Extended Cut is taking the things that are there and making them shine even more"...To most of us nothing about that ending shined. I'll say it yet again, No matter how much you polish a turd, it's still a turd.

If you liked ME3, including the ending, this is icing on the cake.
If you don't, I don't see this changing anyone's opinion; but I could be wrong.
On a side note, I loved how it was mentioned in the podcast the EC was tough due to the size restriction of Xbox Live. I guess a DLC can't be bigger than 2Gs? If that's the case, the complaints of the EC not being long enough to address all of the issues can be forwarded to Microsoft...

This whole Extended Cut is a one time deal. They're only doing one ending DLC, and then moving onto other things that they have planned. They said a year of DLC is coming out after this.
I won't either. I can't give my money to a company I no longer trust. This is their last chance for me. In my opinion, and this is the best analogy I use for it pretty often, Bioware made a giant piece of crap (ending), now they're just explaining the texture and features. My hopes aren't high at all, but I sincerely hope I eat those words.

For me, Joker would never flee. And for me, and others had other party members, Kaidan was on earth, How the ef did he get off the normandy? They don't say anything about that at all. Why would a party member left on earth, why any of those party members left on earth ever get off the normandy. The time frame doesn't make sense. You're not in the Catalyst THAT long. It made no sense. I got it, it destroyed stuff. I got the 3 different choices. That was fine but the execution of that last scene was horrible and the way Casey Hudson was talking about it, it doesn't seem he got that at all.
