I don't have high expectations of the Extended Cut after listening to that podcast but I do have a small lingering hope that it'll at least transform the ending from "WTF was that?!!?!?!" to "acceptable". If we're lucky, they will have filled in some of the plot holes.

I don't get how so many people can state they already hate the upcoming DLC, even by using past terms like they already played it, when its 2 days away from release. They're talking how Bioware don't care about their customers, while they're given you the largest DLC up to date for free, you haven't even played it yet, and judging it by 2 progress screenshots? Really? (Mind you, most of the companies in this case will tell you pretty much to deal with it, and will leave it like that). I keep reading threads where people bashing their heads against the wall, with wild speculations, and a ton of questions, to which you'll have the answers, if you can be a bit more patient and wait till 26th. Im not big of a fan to the endings myself, but this kind of reactions are just over the line.

It's not free, man. The name itself - "Extended CUT" - says it all. What we get is something that was supposed to be in the game from the very beggining. Hense we already payed for this dlc when we bought the game.

@Samuelcd check them out here: http://masseffect.bi...t/extended_cut/

@Ursakar Well that was my first though when they announced the EC at first (they could possibly run out of time and make it with this), but then by the Bioware's stuff statements it seemed like they are providing this closure just because of the ****stom after the endings , and the fans need for more closure. They though the ending as it is, would be good enough to end the series, which i cant really understand, but judging a DLC by 2 screenshots, i dont get it either.

People don't really judge the DLC. They know that the EC would not give them a different ending and they automatically consider it to be ****. It's mostly an emotional response. You should not bother, really.

Well, good news but I don't have a save from the last Cerberus mission.. so now what?
My last save is from Londen, before you step into the relay.

Then finish the last mission and you will have a save before the Cerberus base.

Listen to the podcast, go look at those screenshots again, and go read the tweets about what will and won't be in the EC. I'm sorry, but Bioware DID tell us to deal with it and left things as they were. Nothing real has changed, we're still dealing with the same 'plot' as before, merely with a few extra pictures of the Geth dying and Starboy doing a trollface.jpg at us. Gamefront's take on it.

You do not understand , the Rainbow End is a denial of logic of entire Mass Effect serie and an insult to all  Shepard believes during the whole game, some movies can't clean that. "Finis coronat opus -The end crowns the work", but if you put a **** on a top of a delicious cake(the amazing Mass Effect universe) can you still enjoy it ? Even if they clean the **** , with some free movies and add some cutscenes in DLC, do you really think you can eat that cake?!All the mass effect serie is about Shep fighting for tolerance, diversity of races, right to self determination, unity of species for a common goal, you sacrifice friends for that, you make peace between geth and quarians, you scan boring planets for your war assets and in the end ....all is useless. The DLC will not change the stupid end, as they stated, will only clean the **** from the cake. Yeah sure as you said, are only 2 days left. The cake will be clean , so we all can eat it and be happy Image IPBImage IPB

Think of it this way Mindscapebd, yes they are not making new endings persay but adding new content makes it a new ending because it did not have the extra stuffles from before.

Well, we'll see what happens on Tuesday (Wednesday for us) but this podcast makes me very sceptical ... very sceptical indeed.

In any case, no matter if the EC will actually improves things notably or not. I do commend BW for the effort.

When it comes time to review it (as other DLCs were reviewed), people should really only rely on the professional reviews. Most reviews I found on places like Gamespot or Metacritic that were written by fans are very one sided. People who get paid write reviews for a living tend not to be biased towards a particular opinion.

Sure, there were some that were quite honest reviews from fans, but most of them were purely basing their review on the ending alone.Nothing else about the game seemed to matter in their review.

So when reading reviews on the Extended Cut, I would look to the professional ones first.

Stupidity?! Do you ever read what you wirte? Having different opinions is ok, be very enraged by something you disliked it's still ok, but be so offensive and disrespectful i something that nobody shoul accept!

And you know what? I loved the ending too! I loved it so much! Really. Do you want to insult me too? You welcome! Can't wait for your words of wisdom

These professional reviews have to abide by a code of ethics. They have to take the good and the bad, and write a summary of that. Unlike most fan reviews which rate the game a 4 or less out of 10, which is mostly negative. Most of them usually involve "I didn't like the ending, so I'm giving it a low rating" without even taking in what the rest of the game did right.

Not exactly, read the FAQ

"Does the Extended Cut change the endings?
  • The Extended Cut is an expansion of the original endings to Mass
Effect 3. It does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it
expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater
detail on the impact of player decisions."
