In the podcast Casey said it would be a "few minutes of extra content" for a specific playthrough. That seals the deal on the IT.

Obviously you start with an existing character and you wait to see if the EC is actually worth replaying the entire game for. Not a difficult choice. In my case, I'm already certain I won't be replaying the entire game.

I am starting to like this. I like the fact that you have to have a save from before the cerberus base mission, that is where I thought ME3 fell off of a cliff and got weird. This might make me play the game from my ME1 save in progress to the conclusion with the EC.
The podcast, while I hope it was sincere, made some sense. The ending for Shepherd was very abrupt, I can see their reasoning regarding the rest of the galaxy and they understand that it left too much to the player to interpret what actually transpired.
I do wonder if the epilogue is playable or is just more cinematic sequernces, it wasnt clear. But it does pique my interest to play the series once again (since I need the insanity achievements anyway) which I was hoping the EC would do.
