The only thing I can say without any sort of anger or malice:

The only people disappointed by this will be those that had any expectations left to begin with.

Honestly at this point all I want is for them to not be lying. As long as they can show me that my choices and actions across all three games have had an actual, real effect on the ending I will be contented. I don't even care about that bloody starchild anymore, since they are so intent on having him as part of the story. As long as the three pathways he presents us are not the road to a singular ending, I should be at least reasonably happy.

Honestly I think one of the things they will change is that they will delete the "Shepard gasping for air" scene from the destroy ending. I am pretty sure they will make it be so Shepard is dead no matter what. Also Jennifer Hale had said before that she never got any invites from BW to come back for more Ending stuff (albeit that interview was a few months ago so something could have changed).

However I still am pretty sure they will probably delete that little scene with Shepard breathing in the rubble.

That would be changing the endings. It would also negate the fact they've confirmed they 'tweeking' the EMS so that that ending is easier to obtain for non-MP players. They'd be a bit pissed if they finally get it and it doesn't matter, Shepard's dead (not to mention how pissed all the other people who got the ending will be). Not a smart way to go.

Yup.  Shepard unavoidably dying (without MP) is one of the bigger aspects of "My choices don't matter" in the ending.  To remove even that sliver of hope would be...not good...

Spoiler maybe; The 4th picture on the announcement site looks like a "Shepard Funeral" in front of the Memorial wall on a crashed Normandy.

I too noticed this. I hope that this is just ONE of the posibilities... Oh I'm going to be so furious if my Shep does not survive at all and get reunited with LI.

It's not funeral (although Shepards funeral is possible, sure)- it's list of names of Normandy crew which died during missions- they're "only" paying homage to fallen.

A scene that would probably cut to your Shepard's name added to the wall of the fallen. That seems pretty logical to me. Also in the images we see Joker and the rest of the fleets being ordered by Hackett to flee the Sol system. At least thats what I think I can make out in the subtitle on the screen.

Well that's two problems down. Joker fleeing will make sense and now your Squad and LI mourns Shepard's death like they should.

I'm going to have an open mind, it will either all make sense or not. If they can't do it with this then time to just let it go. But After listening to the interview it seems the team did listen to us and took the criticism seriously.

Anyway Tuesday it is.

So Hackett is the yellow coward instead of Joker. I suppose that's one way to solve a problem.

We'll If Hackett gives the order to get out before the Crucible activates that makes more sense than Joker just cutting out all by himself. Also that does not strand the fleets in the Sol System if they jump before the Crucible destroys/deactivates the Relays.

But that's just my speculations they might have done something completly different. Just seems the only way they could explain why Joker would leave the battle, everyone esle is too on Hacketts orders.

I have nothing to be mad about. Except, of course, the impending failure of the EC.

That means you DO have something to be mad about...

Me too :crying:

The strange thing is that all this feels like a fight in a relationship. A long relationship that at this point might end badly. And now I'm just walking around in a limbo waiting for the answer. God damn it! FRUSTRATING. As I said before, I'm going to be really hurt, angry and extremely heartbroken if my FemShep does not reunite with Liara.

I hope Bioware doesn't cater to those who MUST have their happy ending or I, among many, will be even more disappointed than we already are.

As I said before, I hope that this is one of the options... not the only one ;)

Is it strange I'm not that excited? somehow...I waited for the EC but now, I'll just wait to see myself, and then decide whether to be excited...or not

Well, here goes nothing!

2GB's in reality isn't that large -- but it's reasonable, enough to fit in stuff to clarify the ending.

Really surprised this early, can't believe it. Time to replay ME3!

It's 1.9 gb! It looks like true add-on ;)

You have to remember that you will probably not see somewhere around half that if we are getting exactly what we promised.

Imagine it more as many, many videos taped together, the majority of the content will simply be the same cutscene with different characters and different scenarios. For example, there may be 15 scenes depicting Tuchanka, with each decision made around that area mixing to make several different scenes, of which unless you intend to play through every single gaming choice out there, you probably won't see all of.

Of course, there's not much to be honest that can be said. It's far too low to see anything amazing appearing, and large enough to be a substantial content drop. In my personal opinion, this will merely lessen the blow. And even then, the damage is done, they've specifically said that there won't be anything truly new, so generally all we should be expecting is everything we already know (that is implied but never shown) to be shown, with perhaps a couple of new variables added into the current scenes. I sincerely doubt that what they're offering us is sufficient to remove all hardships about the ending. I hope it solves many, but I know that even after all this, there will be no sequel at all without even more hardship (such as ignoring all actions done and giving us a canon to start again with, which I believe to be the lesser of two evils).

The future of Mass Effect is still bleak, and it seems as though the once amassing universe that has welcomed many fans has gone. I doubt that many of my personal concerns will be fixed. And that I will never see another Mass Effect game that I will actually want to play, if one is ever released again.

After all of this, I'm still getting strong scents of TtFaR...

...But I appear to be waffling into a different primary subject, I'll leave it there and apologize if anyone seems irritated by my comments. I'm aware I'll not be recieving nothing special, but I could be suprised with what I see.

Well, Tuesday is my D&D night so hopefully by the time I get back home some youtube videos will be up so I can judge if it's worth the time to dig out ME3 again, download the EC and play through the ending again.

Well, Ill play it, but I have no faith after listening to the podcast. Casey and Mac are still oblivious and out of touch with reality regarding the endings and backlash. I love how they never admit fault for anything or take responsibility.

Oh LOL! It's as I expected and feared they didn't listen to a word we said they are simply going to try and explain away the atrocious ending. No change to the Catalyst, no change of the retarded Synths v. Organics themes, but hey we get to see a few shots of our squad mates...

Well it's not like they could disappoint me any further.

They are not going to cut or heavily modify elements as major as the Catalyst and Reaper motivation. That's rewriting the established story. Even hoping for that was incredibly naive.

But it's still in the air if the Catalyst will get expanded dialogue and the Reaper motivation will get further justification. There are plenty of people who didn't think Org vs. Synth was inherently "retarded" but thought it was explained very poorly. EC can address that. Will it? We'll see if 4 days.

Also there's no proof that the new epilogue will be still-shots. Even if it is the elaboration of the effects of our choices will still be welcome.

Obviously there are holes they can't write themsevles out of like the Catalyst not being able to open the Citadel realy itself back in ME1 or why the Reapers didn't design the Citadel so it could. Or why the Reapers didn't just take the Citadel from the beginning or why they didn't close the relay network (without the faulty Keeper excuse). But this is better than nothing.

I'm the only one here who thinks it's too soon? So many plotholes and so much space magic cannot be fixed in only 2 months.

Looking forward to this, but I'm going to have to grind through multiplayer for the extra galactic readiness so I can get the best ending. I'm so glad I made a save right before I went to the Cerberus HQ on my 100% playthough.

No, that's just one of the devs making a shadow puppet Reaper in front of an accounting spreadsheet.

it would be nice if Bioware gave us more details of what is the content of the EC. Are we only going to have cinematics ? No new gameplay added?

Although I am very thankful for free dlc and all the time that was out into a (potentialy pointless) attempt to make us happy, I feel like we are just going to end up back here on Tuesday, sad, frustrated, and defeated because the real problems with the ending weren't addressed in the dlc.

No new gameplay. They've already said that.
