Spoiler maybe; The 4th picture on the announcement site looks like a "Shepard Funeral" in front of the Memorial wall on a crashed Normandy.

I too noticed this. I hope that this is just ONE of the posibilities... Oh I'm going to be so furious if my Shep does not survive at all and get reunited with LI.

It's not funeral (although Shepards funeral is possible, sure)- it's list of names of Normandy crew which died during missions- they're "only" paying homage to fallen.

A scene that would probably cut to your Shepard's name added to the wall of the fallen. That seems pretty logical to me. Also in the images we see Joker and the rest of the fleets being ordered by Hackett to flee the Sol system. At least thats what I think I can make out in the subtitle on the screen.

Well that's two problems down. Joker fleeing will make sense and now your Squad and LI mourns Shepard's death like they should.

I'm going to have an open mind, it will either all make sense or not. If they can't do it with this then time to just let it go. But After listening to the interview it seems the team did listen to us and took the criticism seriously.

Anyway Tuesday it is.

So Hackett is the yellow coward instead of Joker. I suppose that's one way to solve a problem.

We'll If Hackett gives the order to get out before the Crucible activates that makes more sense than Joker just cutting out all by himself. Also that does not strand the fleets in the Sol System if they jump before the Crucible destroys/deactivates the Relays.

But that's just my speculations they might have done something completly different. Just seems the only way they could explain why Joker would leave the battle, everyone esle is too on Hacketts orders.

I've noticed while ago- in the middle of the screen is female Shepard- so it seems that (in some of endings) he/she is alive!

Although I am very thankful for free dlc and all the time that was out into a (potentialy pointless) attempt to make us happy, I feel like we are just going to end up back here on Tuesday, sad, frustrated, and defeated because the real problems with the ending weren't addressed in the dlc.

No, ya think?

I'm easy, just give me a LI reunion and I'll let the rest slide.

I have been looking forward to this and now it is just 4 days away. Plus 1.9 gb does seem quite large for some cutscenes. I hope it is brilliant.

Me too :crying:

The strange thing is that all this feels like a fight in a relationship. A long relationship that at this point might end badly. And now I'm just walking around in a limbo waiting for the answer. God damn it! FRUSTRATING. As I said before, I'm going to be really hurt, angry and extremely heartbroken if my FemShep does not reunite with Liara.

I hope Bioware doesn't cater to those who MUST have their happy ending or I, among many, will be even more disappointed than we already are.

Right because when the game is billed as the "player's story" by the company who made it, players should be denied a happy ending if they want it. No yeah that makes total sense.

i'm nervous and excited at the same time. i hope bioware didn't rushed it. it feels a bit too soon. i hope it's not because we asked for a bit of update and they understood we asked for the dlc. let us hope for the best!

Wait, sorry for the double post:
Conversations don't necessarily mean that we're having the dialog wheel , right?

I would assume it does. A conversation without it is just a cutscene. No need for a distinction.

Good point

Conversations without dialogue wheels? ME3 is full of it. It's called auto-dialogues.

I just hope this won't disappoint as well

And this is why I'm waiting for reviews.

Yeah man, wait for reviews.  Wouldn't want to waste any money on that free DLC when you can be an internet hipster and act like you're too good for free content.

I don't presume to speak for the original poster, but you clearly don't get it. This isn't some hipster BS where we think we're "too good" for free content. If someone told me I could have a free pile of horse ****, I wouldn't want that either, and there's no reason to think I'm getting anything better from this DLC. A lot of us were disappointed with this game, and the interview, for me, does nothing to assuage that feeling. The ending is unchanged and the huge download, going by what we learn in the interview, is just there to "show" us what got us to the pile of crap that is the ending. Sorry, but wasting another hour of my life to sit and watch a constipated horse grunting and straining just so I can see how the huge piles of turd got into the box isn't appealing to me, especially when I was being told I was buying a nice chocolate torte. A box of crap is still a box of crap - doesn't make a damned bit of difference what you ate to create it or how much you had to strain to get it out.

So yeah, waiting for the reviews - and spoilers - sounds like the only plan for me. If it turns out that the EC does improve the game, I'll download it and play it. Perhaps it will make this game enjoyable for me, and make me actually want to touch a game that says ME on it, but I highly doubt it considering the ending hasn't changed. I'm not one of these pollyanna types who appreciates the journey when the destination is a roach-infested room full of fecal matter and smells like ******, nor am I the type to appreciate the "artistic" value of said room. So while people here are checking out the EC DLC, I'll be playing the Skyrim DLC, since I know it will actually be enjoyable. Maybe within a few days of the release, someone here will post something that makes me want to touch ME3 again.  I certainly hope so. It'd be nice to feel like BioWare didn't swindle me out of $60 and hundreds of hours of my life with their lies and narcissistic "we're so awesome and you just don't appreciate art!" garbage.

The PR talk on the interview annoyed me, but definitely going to download EC and see what it has to to offer, hoping it will fill some of the plot holes..

But....Dawnguard.

Wat do?

At least you aren't on a download limit. I hope I can get enough for both, but if I must choose, it will be Dawnguard.

ME3 EC makes for poor conversations with friend gamers, short of "what did you see?", not really much to say, compared to dawnguards completely new questline, extra features, new enemies, new weapon types, new powers and abilities and all that, which makes for a good long conversation.

ME3 has turned into a "keep it to yourself" kind of thing, if you're already going to buy dawnguard, I'd go through about half of it, while downloading the EC, then take a look at it, and then go back to dawnguard while you contemplate what you've seen and develop a civil opinion on the matter.

I'm looking forward to Maurader Shield's getting a larger part! An epic gunslinging battle between Shepard and Marauder. It'll go down with such fights as Snake vs Ocelot (PS1) and..... and.....

Oh.....

Well at least it will be here soon and 1.9 Gb is a hefty amount of content in any case. Not much sense in trying to judge what it is or isn't at this point until we get our hands on it.

If anyone played Blue Dragon to the end, that's the kind of thing I wish for, the whole "It's a new world, but everyone's still here" kind of thing. it was a happy ending, even though many people were temporarily homeless and some had died. If ME3 can pull that off, while still remaining true to the original ideals of the game (keeping the universe strongly similar, none of this whole "the galaxy is a completely different place" malarky), then I would consider it a success.

I reserve true judgement, but I expect little but hope for a lot I suppose...

*spoilers* Well if you get the "perfect ending" you see Shepard take a breath. And the way s/he looked, I don't think s/he'd be in condition to walk around the Normandy. I think it's Specialist Traynor.

Great news that this is coming out soon, however I found some of Casey's comments in the podcast rather derisory to the negative fan reactions. Apparently we misunderstood Bioware's vision for the ending and/or didn't like the ending because we we didn't want to let go of the characters we'd come to love. Our fault then. We're just too negative.

The fact that the EC was necessary at all shows that mistakes were made and they recognize that, and they didn't have to make it at all so I'm happy with the effort, of course I am. I just wish the PR blurb coming out of the company contained fewer veiled insults.

Well, I said I would only play if it came out this weekend and I guess that's close enough.

It's too bad that they didn't make an IT ending because now ITers won't get their noses rubbed in how terrible that ending would actually be in practice.

Elaborating on the ending can't help but be stupid so I don't expect it will "save the franchise" for me, but with ME3 the way it is, if they do decide to show what happens to your other squad mates like in ME2's suicide mission, there will be either:

1.  5 or 6 "STEEEEEEEVEEEE!" moments in Prioirty: Earth that will make the once ghastly ending deliciously absurd.

2.  3 or 4 really super serious SACRIFICE moments that will pretty much put Bioware's storytelling on par with Blizzard's storytelling for the rest of time.

3.  Both.

SACRIFICE is a theme, right?  What is a theme?  A plot element you overuse?  Apparently.  Maybe that's a motif.  Well, just go with it, it's emotionally exploitive, whatever it is, and that is what we're shooting for.  That's less childish than Blizz's CORRUPTION theme, anyways, right?

Anyways, I could use a few laughs.  Though laughter doesn't feel that great when it's derisive.  Maybe I won't play it, after all.

Sit and play one of your favorite OTHER games, crank out red dead, witcher 2, something NOT by bioware, just CLEAR your head of this entire ordeal.

Go in, pretend nothing happened and start from the cerberous station once the EC is installed.

Play through and expect NOTHING, don't expect IT don't expect anything. the PR speak in the podcast is very strong, indicating that we aren't going to get most of what we wanted. But just try and clear your mind of all the plot holes, because you would naturally gloss over plot holes in other games, just give them a chance to at least patch them up enough.

Eat some cheetos, have a lovely cup of tea and sit back and play with a clear head.

Oh and record your reaction with a video camera and put it on youtube.

K thanks bye :)
