As for DLC, I've got a lot of games that have more than one DLC released on the same day.  Limits on size may have reasons behind them, but there's no reason why even the DLC couldn't have been released in several parts if it was too big.

Interesting.  Example?

I love Mass Effect! It's like a complicated relationship where not everything goes the way you want it, but overall you love it, so you learn to forgive the parts you don't like and appreciate the parts you do! It's like real life!! Holy Cow!

Yes But in real life there are often incedents wich distroy a relationship and cannot be forgotten

if shepard still dies no matter what {or multiplayer is still neccessary} I AM DONE.....the end of jis arc isnt interchangeable with his death....

I agree if Shepard can't survive no matter what I will be pissed. I would have worked my ass of in multiplayer for that breath scene, which then would be ****ing pointless. That would be just ridiculous especially since Shepard coming out alive is the only thing this EC has going for IMO.

I do not know why they are so determined to have their, no OUR protagonist die...why it has to be a part of their "vision" it is not neccesarry that shep dies, i like that its the end of his arc, i like that there are endings where hell die....but not ALL of them....not in this series BASED ON CHOICE AND SO MANY SCENARIOS WITH THE PROTAGONIST BEING SO MUCH AN EXTENSION OF US, EVEN DOWN TO OUR OWN IMAGE, NAME, SEXUALITY.ETC etc......its just baffling and it is and never will be ok....

The reason Shepard must die is just because.  I could see if a scenario existed like in ME2, where Shepard is screwed because everyone else is dying and/or not loyal, but it comes off as just gratuitous in ME3.  First off, I have trouble even discussing it because I think if I were to pick one of the choices in real life, well then I darn well should kill myself.  It's stupidity times ten.  So, maybe that's it.  Who on Earth wants to see Shepard after making any one of those ridiculous choices.

Please, I pray they gave us an option to bring along a Cain with extra ammo or the amazing unlimited ammo like the pistol so we can blow the whole thing to smithereens and hopefully kill or destroy the kid and cause the reapers to wobble around not knowing what to do.  Then all the ships can start blowing them out of the sky.  Please.

Edited: Sorry forgot Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout New Vegas (IIRC).

I think 2GB will bring us a decent quantity of new content. After all, Skyrim on the 360, is only 3.4 GB in total, due to modern advances in tech.

Skyrim is 3.4GB because of their engine and the way the world is generated.

So... how is it going to work for the download on X-Box 360?

If you'll excuse me, I only ever spent 5 hours on XBL to boost my galactic readiness a bit using the 2-day free pass.

Will you need a gold membership to download it?
Or is a silver sufficient?
Will you need to go to this marketplace and look for it or will you simply be able to download it from the main menu once the game has started?

Just curious.

I wonder if the difference might be paid versus free DLC?  In other words, DLC where the console vendor (XBox or PS3) doesn't get a cut of anything.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: no amount of "clarification" can make me accept an ending in which Shepard is forced to follow the orders of one of the most evil entities ever created in fiction without even disputing his faulty logic.

I'll just watch the EC on youtube. Meanwhile, on the same day it's released, I'll be tearing up Skyrim as a non-glittering vampire.

Perhaps both cases are true, but does the MS limit the size of A file for DLC or the size of all files for DLC?  I can't believe the latter would be true because I'm sure they get something from it as well (though you think they get nothing for free content).

But, my experience has been that some devs purposely release a lot of DLC (some of it game play and some customization items) on the same day.  I know because I often have to decide between the DLC to see what I have the money to buy.  And with Bethesda Games and Fallout 3 I got burned on the PS3 DLC because it wasn't long after that the GOTY version came out.

Hmm, guess so. But I still think 1.9GB is enough for a fairly decent quantity of content.

I hope this helps. I don't actually *want* to feel sad every time I think of Mass Effect! I want to be able to enjoy the memories, explore the universe in my head while I try to fall asleep, allow it to take me on flights of fancy while I paint... I love the Mass Effect universe. It's the only game world I have ever actually *yearned* to live in, Reapers or no. So many times my huz and I have daydreamed about moving to the Citadel, where our apartment would be... Yes, we're lame-arsed dorks, whatever. It made us happy, and there's precious little in the world that makes me happy. Please let this be good. Please don't let the universe stop. Please don't let me be depressed for another two weeks. I hated that. It was like someone died, I don't know. Just... please.

Silver is fine.  I was able to download add-ons and stuff even before I went Gold.

I thank BW and the writers for giving us this. Is better than nothing and seems like an attempt to fix some of what was wrong with ME3 for me and other fans

But if it only adds content AFTER the Cerberus base mission than it did not fix the most important thing for me which was the shameful fact that writers simply forgot about Thane. The intern that wrote his lines in ME3 didn't do his homework well and ME3 Thane is completely out of character for a romanced Thane. How could he not be ? Romanced Thane adds what , 3-4 lines to the whole interaction ? No writer can do much with that. ME3 Thane was an afterthought and it shows. More glaringly than Tali's stock photo.

It looks like the end is at least good enough to not starve the whole galaxy and condemn the crew to live in inbred eden. But you better give me Thane in my Sheppard's flashback while she is about to die, or I will have had it with you guys.

I'll compare the EC with my best-case scenario. I'll appreciate any added closure, but....if there's no exposition added in the Catalyst dialogue, then the ending is still an overall failure.

No no, the only thing gold effects when it comes to DLC, is that sometimes there are "Special offers" on content for Gold members. You can get an 800 points pack for 400 for example.

If the content is free, its free.

God damn it. With how I currently feel about the EC, reading this post is like the end of Old Yeller.

yep, i never had a gold membership until ME3 came out cause I was solely a SinglePlayer gamer, and I bought and downloaded a ton of add-ons for games,  including all DLC for ME2

Luckly I do have a save before the Cerberus base
