Oh...you are comparing the trauma Titanic survivors went through (Never mind those who died) with you not getting the ending you wanted to your Shep's journey in a game. Yeah. that's the same.<_<

Not sure if serious...

I don't think comparing the journey of the Titanic (An ACTUAL tragedy) to the journey of a game series is particularly tasteful or clever.

I just hope this won't disappoint as well

And this is why I'm waiting for reviews.

Yeah man, wait for reviews.  Wouldn't want to waste any money on that free DLC when you can be an internet hipster and act like you're too good for free content.

I don't presume to speak for the original poster, but you clearly don't get it. This isn't some hipster BS where we think we're "too good" for free content. If someone told me I could have a free pile of horse ****, I wouldn't want that either, and there's no reason to think I'm getting anything better from this DLC. A lot of us were disappointed with this game, and the interview, for me, does nothing to assuage that feeling. The ending is unchanged and the huge download, going by what we learn in the interview, is just there to "show" us what got us to the pile of crap that is the ending. Sorry, but wasting another hour of my life to sit and watch a constipated horse grunting and straining just so I can see how the huge piles of turd got into the box isn't appealing to me, especially when I was being told I was buying a nice chocolate torte. A box of crap is still a box of crap - doesn't make a damned bit of difference what you ate to create it or how much you had to strain to get it out.

So yeah, waiting for the reviews - and spoilers - sounds like the only plan for me. If it turns out that the EC does improve the game, I'll download it and play it. Perhaps it will make this game enjoyable for me, and make me actually want to touch a game that says ME on it, but I highly doubt it considering the ending hasn't changed. I'm not one of these pollyanna types who appreciates the journey when the destination is a roach-infested room full of fecal matter and smells like ******, nor am I the type to appreciate the "artistic" value of said room. So while people here are checking out the EC DLC, I'll be playing the Skyrim DLC, since I know it will actually be enjoyable. Maybe within a few days of the release, someone here will post something that makes me want to touch ME3 again.  I certainly hope so. It'd be nice to feel like BioWare didn't swindle me out of $60 and hundreds of hours of my life with their lies and narcissistic "we're so awesome and you just don't appreciate art!" garbage.

Wow, this person is as bitter and as jaded as I am.

Sounds more like a dose of reality to me.

@JessicaMerizan If Bioware is listening, then they will give me a fight with Harbinger.

@JessicaMerizan
@SomeRandomGuy82 no additional combat in the EC DLC

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like Marauder Shields remains the final boss. Seriously what the **** Bioware?

It isn't looking like a conversation with Harbinger is very likely either :(

Next they'll make a He man triology and leave skeletor out of the last movie with a 3 second cameo apearance in the background.

This is nice and all, unfortunately I don't see this being anything but a colossal waste of time on Bioware's part. This probably wont satisfy more than a handful of people, and in the end will probably just get them more hate.

10 minutes. 3 months of grinding speculation and despairing at all the trolls for 10 minutes of what looks like more forced sacrifice. Tch i guess we shall see, expectation couldn't be lower right now

Um, what?

And ten minutes of additional, VARYING (Depending on choices etc.) cutscenes, epilogues & what not isn't tiny either. Some games boast "45 minutes HD cutscenes!".........

Why Tuesday, Bioware? I have the whole weekend off but Tuesday is long shift day!:o

i know but it seems a little underwhelming after all the speculations

It's 10 minutes (Roughly) PER PLAYTHROUGH, not 10 minutes ALL IN ALL.

10 mins is still a very short amount of time to sort out the problems with the ending (explain normandy running away, see differances between red, blue and green plus other stuff like shepards fate and the squads)

HAHA, oh god this is truly gold.

It took them four months to dev ten minutes? LOL

From what I understand it's to be a variety of 10 minutes. Reflecting more of what you chose, or didn't choose. So, even though it's almost 2G, it's 2 G worth of different outcomes.

If you want to see it all, you may have to replay and do some things different.

This is what I gather.

the #1 thing I expect from the EC is that it explains that ME1 was not pointless that the starchild (shudders) could not activate the citadel and that it was nessesary for sovereign to open it manually

Be happy we're getting anything.

The mentality that is killing the consumer who pays for a product.

This goes hand in hand with the idea that it's a game what did you expect?

You bought it, it sucked.  Many couldn't return it and were stuck with it.
Entitled?  Yes, to get what was promised, promoted, and repeatedly said in order to  advertise the game and get us to buy it.

But, by this logic if the star kid's dialog has all been replaced with him singing show tunes, and Shepard turns into a pumpkin, we should be happy?

It's about the journey...

Tell that to the Titanic.

If you have gottten something out of posting on BSN the past 3 months, then I'm right.

I guess I'll be forced to say something after all.. Sigh. Did you not see his analogy, the TITANIC. E'hem, sit down, if you would. Sure, you had fun on the titanic, you had dinner and a show, BUT THEN EVERYONE YOU LOVED DIED. And when ever you remember, "Diner and a show" You also remember "EVERYONE YOU LOVED DYING" That, my not so friend, has spoiled anything you would have "Gained" from the journey. I have real life experience in this matter. Although my time in the military was fun, when ever I remember that, I have to remember my friend dying slowly in my amrs being able to do nothing yet being a medic. That spoiled the journey.

Yea yea, I have seen about 9000 variations of the same terrible analogy. I wondered why he posted that anyway, since my post, albeit half facetious, is obviously not referring to the game itself but rather the experience of grinding, speculating about the ending etc.

Anyone else think that this "one EC thread only" thing is a damage control maneuver in case the EC is not seen as that great? I mean it allows them to try and bury any specific discussion or comments in the pile, as it were.

Depends. DAO's Epilogue slideshow takes less than a minute or two, and most folks were satisfied. And that was just text. And lame screenshots.

i said all along, it will be scenes similar to the marines cheering when reapers die/leave......showing that we won, plotholes, lore, important character 5mins from end....none of it matters, as we ended the reaper threat like before EC, only difference is now they'll show us more of the outcome.

Fine.

How about a walk to a funeral?

A trip to the dentist?

Bus trip to Final exams?

Visit to the in-laws?

Pick your undesired destination.  If you really, really don't want to go there, does it really matter how pretty the scenery is on the way?

Perhaps it still could be.

By my reckoning BW still have at least 8-9 months of DLC content to generate and release. Retaking Omega may be hotly tipped for one. But who's to say at the end of that DLC cycle BW don't use the community idea's, i,e, Harbinger, to give us an Enhanced Extended Cut.

Ok, I know it's so long down the line that ppl are going to read this with a Fry's 'Hmmmmmmmmm'. But as someone who got over the ending controversy, but will never forget it since it was a milestone in gamer/developer history as well as a wakeup call for fans to get  more involved with developers who actively want your feedback........ (stop laughing at the back there). I really think that over the past 3 moths, in the case of ME3's execution of it's end game the fans have come up with very well thought out critisisms and potential fixes. As well as ideas for future content. The creativity and thought gone into some of what I've read on threads by ME fans has been pretty good.
