10 minutes. 3 months of grinding speculation and despairing at all the trolls for 10 minutes of what looks like more forced sacrifice. Tch i guess we shall see, expectation couldn't be lower right now

I would not use the word sacrifice in context to ME3's ending.
When you are forced to take a path that will lead to death, thst is no longer a sacrifice.
For it to be a sacrifice, both the player, and the character, Shepard in this case must have a choice to reject the path thatvwill lead to death (Dragon Age : Origins)
In ME3'S case, starbrat demands Shepard's death and both the player and Shepard have no choice in the matter.

It was a god dammed suicide and I can't understand why some people are celebrating the act.

so where's Harbinger?

I'm let down? What about ME2 the final scene where he leads the Reaper Fleets or Arrival DLC? AM I supposed to just let this slide?

Pretty much, yeah.

Don't f*ck with their artistic integrity, goddammit.

The QQ'in is off the charts today..

[** image spam removed - see forum rule #6 **]

I guess I'm in the minority that will actually try the EC before passing judgement. Thank you Bioware, I look forward to the added closure.

I don't think comparing the journey of the Titanic (An ACTUAL tragedy) to the journey of a game series is particularly tasteful or clever.

I heard that Titanic 3D is so realistic that at the end of the film everyone in the theatre either drowns or dies of hypothermia....

Which is exactly what should happen to anyone who wastes their money to see such garbage...

Maybe they shouldn't have even done an interview. Once I saw the EC poster and the news about it I was excited and prepared for greatness.
Then I listened to that interview and just thought, "my god... they haven't changed a bit. They still sound like a bunch of idiots and are probably lying to me right now"

Still a better ending than Mass Effect 3.

If all the EC does is explain what they were thinking, they should have done that a long time ago and opened up a real back and forth dialog with fans-here. Where people could say how the ending failed and they could say why they thought it made sense. I'm not patient at this point, because everything they say makes it so much worse.

I didn't need clarity, because it was as clear as it could be to me. It lacked emotion, it substituted the star kid as the ambiguous protagonist (though I see him clearly as evil and thus a protagonist) and all but removed the reapers from all thought. I wanted to rub Harbinger's face in his own destruction. But, I can't even rub the star kid's in it. And the star kid's use of the ugh, real kid's visage is an assault to a true nightmarish foe that should have been the stuff of our nightmares. It neuters the reapers.

The false logic is an insult to anyone who knows real logic. The art is unoriginal and the product of other creators belonging more appropriately as endings to other things, but not ME.

The story stops dead in its tracks at least at the conduit to the citadel, but in many ways it stops further back.

The fatal ending flaws make the other faults of the game more visible-teammates are there and gone. Shepard's real family. The people Shepard would be thinking about in trying to save the galaxy--not some kid that made no sense and was just stuffed into the beginning of the game to make us sad. Didn't work by the way.

Nope, clarity can only make things worse, because it's an attempt to explain crazy. Can't be done. Clarity should have been offered ASAP. It's far too late for that. And closure without real change is like trying to stuff a rotting corpse in a tea cup.

I am hoping against hope that they erred in their choice of words and it's sad of course that they've fostered such an air of cynicism, but it is what it is.

Yes. Nothing we didn't know 3 months ago when EC was first brought up. Half the people QQ'in it seems have really short memorys or never/refused to listen.

Yet not a better ending than I received at Asian Massage 3 on Tuesday...The EC will never live up to that...

Supposedly, the EMS issue has been fixed (in a tweet by Jessica M).  What that means, I can't say.  And unfortunately info sometimes has not always been correct (duh).  I'd think on this she would know what she's talking about though.  I assume it addresse the MP/SP tie in debacle, but who knows.

Well, I can already anticipate one problem. Nothing said about supplemental war assets to allow single players to obtain "perfect ending," i.e. breathe scene. Therefore any potential embrace time with LI and squadies will be out of reach. That's just gonna ****** a whole bunch of people off all over again.

Jessica already adressed this in a tweet....

3 months ago, they didn't confirm that the endings were completely divorced from the rest of the series by design.

Jesus.

One of those two senior devs basically just confirms that I paid seventy-goddamn-dollars to play imagination time.

As I listen to this podcast, I become more and more so infuriated.

I paid 80. Was underwhelmmed at the contents of the Collector Edition, but I let it slide since the game and Javik were very engaging and amazing to see unfold. Then, a sh*tstorm so big that even Udina would be at a loss for words comes to pass...:(

In another thread it seems like Chris Priestly said they'll be fixing that.  Then again, the wording was vague enough that it also sounded like they aren't changing much of anything.

Why are people so crazy bitter about this?  So you wanted to rub Harbinger's face in it and found out that all the clues in the game leading up to the Reapers actually being some form of preservation was true and that they weren't even independent but controlled by the Catalyst.  That's the story; I presume that's been the story probably since the word go.  Rather than being some sadistic freaks or galaxy devouring vampires, the Reapers turn out to be the indoctrinated, triage style life preservers of a fairly emotionless shackled AI.  So that's the story they wanted to tell; all in all, they did a good job, if not so good at all in the very end.
