I would just like to say thanks to Bioware for this, and I guess a nod and a wink to EA for letting it happen.

I wonder if Casey plays Deus Ex with a trench coat and shades on with his head tilted slightly back trying to make an "I'm cool" face???

Yes. He also does the exact thing while locking himself in rooms to personally write the endings to his games.

He's certainly been mumbling, "I never asked for this..." to himself for the past three months.

All I know is if I were in their position. I'd apologise. I'd apologise because I upset my fans, no matter what I thought of what I wrote, and I'd try to make it better.

Yep. You'd think for no other reason than for self preservation.  You never want to ****** off the people who ultimately keep you employed.

Wait...from BEFORE the attack on Cerberus?

So, the auto save from when you complete the game isnt far back enough? This blows. :/

Yes it should. Just checked it.  The game should generate an autosave after the ending.  Loading that autosave returns you to the bridge of the Normandy right before the mission Priority: Cerberus Headquarters.

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Actually, I do.

I highly doubt it is a coincidence.  It is the only logical place to start the ending DLC, as the DLC is supposed to be aimed at the folks who didn't understand the 'complex' and 'deep' artistic ending (and something about closure), and you would have had to seen said ending to not understand it (and something about closure).  That would mean you have an auto save file at that point.  It is also the point of the game where the stupid, er, I mean 'artistic' EMS system locks for the endgame, and the DLC is supposed to do something about lowering the needed EMS value for some of the ending stuff.

As someone who's family comes from a country where hundreds of thousands if not millions were made to suffer horrendously for their artistic integrity, nothing makes me more angry than hipsters spouting off about artistic integrity. When the government of Alberta accuses the EC of being degenerate and sends its creators to the Athabasca tar sands to extract oil from the sand with nothing but their bare hands and their hot air I shall consider them artists of integrity.

Ten. Minutes.

This. It's large because of all the outcomes (which may be a good thing if they some how make it work)
Quality over Quantity though I guess...

The problem here is the game industry has little accountability for it's top people.
How many abject failures and crushed hopes is Peter Molyneux responsible for? To the point his name is synonimous with "liar". Yet, he still has a job.

If they can fix the complete clusterf*ck that is the ending in ten minutes, I'll write to the Nobel committee personally recommending the writer team to be considered but ultimately fail because THEY COULD HAVE DONE THIS IN THE BEGINNING FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.

Ten minutes on ONE play through. Casey/mac stated that different decisions ranging back to ME1 would change what content you'd see from the EC. That tells me that they spent most of their time making consequences for your actions, which is much more valuable than hours of mindless cut scenes.

Honestly, if it makes the endings very different, makes different EMS amounts effect the endings segnifigantly, and takes into account all the major choices I made, I would prefer 10min of that over 1hour that is essenssially the same for all endings.

Which makes me wonder if the EC DLC will be required for future single player DLC, like the Firewalker DLC was for ME2.  It would mean that they are including assets for future DLC in the free pack to keep the other DLC downloads smaller (and how some of the DLC assets for ME2 DLC were on the discs, and how most of the From Ashes assets were on the ME3 discs).

Don't even make me refer to what they said in the past about what changes we would see regarding our choices...

That is about the only good thing I've seen out of this so far.  It at least sounds like those epilogue slides will factor in our choices, like it should have done before.

But it's hard to be too excited since this was surrounded with them somehow being surprised that we cared about such things and didn't like being told to imagine the epilogue.

Thye are changing and adding to content they had not planned on doing. Patching up the ending of the game. Many files will get a bit of changing but need to be completely redownloaded since they can't insert the code into an allready compiled file sometimes.

For instance when DC online came out I installed and had to download a patch of 6 gb..and it only added 1gb to my install size after being patched.

Yeah, but I don't think 10 minutes (and according to Jessica Merizan these ten minutes are placed from Cronos Station till the last moment) that spread out across the whole spand of 3 three missions (Cronos Station, Priority Earth, The Return) will be enough to really show many decisions.

Totally understandable. I am being optimistic. But when i saw one of the devs say "10 minutes" then i look at the 1.9 gig file size, it's not just taking their word, it's also makes sense to me.

Although i'm prepared to accept that this might be a flop.

Makes sense, i don't really know what to think at this point, all i know is that ME3 doesn't use very high-res textures or obscenely large amounts of polygons on their characters, so 1.9 gigs seems like a huge amound of content for me.

My optimism died--what little I had locked away for the EC--after listening to the podcast.

Crossing my fingers that this will fix the plot hole and give us an ending that makes sense, even if Shepard dies no matter what still. I want my funeral cut scene too with my entire party.)
