My optimism died--what little I had locked away for the EC--after listening to the podcast.
Mine was during the podcast when the first answer out of Casey's mouth about the bad ending was fans were having trouble letting go of the characters. He never talked to a fan if that's his belief.

I lost my patience after hearing that our choices didn't matter in the end by design.
I stopped listening after hearing "great care and concern went into the EC."

I wonder if in that ten minutes of new content there are any new reactions to Cortez getting shot down. Maybe they actually added non forced emotion to those lines.
The EC is actually just 10 minutes of Ashley continuing that god awful scream. Everyone just stares at her.

Sorry for my ignorance, but where was it stated the EC had only ten minutes of content?
Jessica Merizan mentioned it on twitter. I don't have the link, but that's where it comes from.

I believe it is a rough estimate from Jessica M. on twitter. The idea is that the EC will add little bits here and there for the last part of the game (starting with the attack on the Cerbus space station). The total added for any given playthrough would be about 10 minutes... although it could be a different ten minutes for different players, depending on playthough (choices).

basically, the same way you had to go through the game 'multiple times' to get either a red, blue or green fart cloud in space is what you'll get to do here. see:

Crossing my fingers that this will fix the plot hole and give us an ending that makes sense, even if Shepard dies no matter what still. I want my funeral cut scene too with my entire party.)
- Shepard lives and crew (mainly LI) live happily knowing they beat the reapers
- Shepard dies but the plotholes are fixed (and I mean fixed to the point to where they aren't annoying and do not destroy the lore/story)

the dlc might be 1.9 not due to much of new content but the cutscenes in the game like when you trigger the fight or priority earth have been redone with a few seconds here or there like we see reapers or geth in combat.

I think that's the case. I hope, whatever it contains, that the EC is well-woven into the existing game. In other words, if I was a new player, it wouldn't seem like something is tacked on, narratively-speaking.

Like everything else you want to know about what BioWare is doing, you have to follow every BioWare employee's Twitter account to get any actual information (or just happen upon a post that contains the information on some forum discussing BioWare). For some odd reason, the folks at BioWare don't want to give out any relevant info, beyond release dates and vague FAQs, on their official sites and forums.

Seriously, if it wasn't for the other members of this forum that use twitter, I'd be pretty clueless about most things going on around here. Most people on the sticky for the EMS topic were pretty confused by the vague wording from Chris Priestly, and the clarification of that only came via someone linking to twitter.
