This is nice and all, unfortunately I don't see this being anything but a colossal waste of time on Bioware's part. This probably wont satisfy more than a handful of people, and in the end will probably just get them more hate.

That is what I was trying to say months ago, but we'll see how this plays out.  I suspect several who liked the original ending will defect (because of IT debunked), a few upset with lack of clarity will be satisfied, and the vast majority will still hate it.

Probably, though they have said that IT followers can continue to believe that since it won't be officially debunked.

So.. you have problems with people expressing concern over the EC... but no issues directly insulting Casey Hudson.

Okay, moving along.

The Angry One is right (wow-- I just typed that).  It's time to move off the topic of the developers and back onto the Extended Cut DLC.

Indeed.  Can we just give up on the rampant hate on Mac/Casey and stick to the actual points of concern, the fictional story we all fell in love with, and the conclusion we all hope would be.

So long, Bioware. I will not download the EC DLC or buy any game from Bioware. I am a dead customer to Bioware, and Bioware is a dead company to me.

I am moving more and more towards this stance by the second.

Well, that is good.  At least they're leaving the headcannon.

So
you say he is a tool, and yet see no problem with how the EC is only
going to add more to his work?  Considering that, I should think you'd
be rather concerned about this.

Oh, I am concerned.  I am dubious this will do anything more than plug some of the more gaping plot holes... and that's being generous.  Personally, any improvement will be a plus... but I doubt it will be enough.

What I WON'T do is reach a final conclusion before I see what actually is being made.  THAT is what I rail against.  If you are so damn certain... why are you even still here?  Why are you even bothering?  Leave.  You're not going to get what you want.  So why stick around and let yourself be enraged all over again?

I can't believe people are content to play imagination time for >/=$60.

Which is kind of sad, if you think about it.  People shouldn't have to rely on their own imaginations in this situation.

Personally, if I was going to rely on my imagination, I would have saved my money.

At first, I was with you.  You started out rather reasonably, but then you went and got beligerant about it.  Did I ever say that I wouldn't like it?  No.  I can't speak for others, but I know that so far I haven't liked what I've seen and heard, but I'm also going to play and see what happens.

They put up the podcast and the screenshots as previews of what is going to come.  If we were not meant to discuss this, then they should not have done anything besides announce the date.  It's rather unreasonable to expect everyone to just twiddle their thumbs and wait when they provided something to discuss.

Non sequitur, and you know it.

If you say so.

You complain they should have done this from the start.  And you're right.

But since they can't go back in time, continuing to get upset over what they should have done is a waste of energy.  I'm done being upset over what should have happened.  I'll see what they plan to do, and I'll make up my mind from there.  If it doesn't meet what I expect (and I suspect it won't), Bioware isn't seeing another dollar from me.  That'll be it.  I'll walk away and I don't see myself coming back.

I've made my complaints.  Constantly screaming about them is a waste of my time.  If they weren't listening three months, two months, one month, or even one WEEK, ago... they aren't going to listen now or in the future.

If you don't think I was talking about you... then I probably wasn't.

I've actually spent the last forty-five minutes catching up on this thread... and one complaint I read repeatedly was "waste of time."  I read at least twenty desires that directly contradicted what twenty other fans wanted, and all of them claiming that anything less than what they wanted was unacceptable.

And that's who I'm directing my words to.  If you cannot accept anything less than everything you want, if you think it's a waste of time... why even bother?  Why even come on this forum just to get all worked up about it again?  It makes no sense to me.

Do fans think Bioware will listen to them now?  All the rage and hatred and blowback and media attention... did that change the ending?  No?  Then why do people think MORE rage will?  Bioware's drawn their line in the sand, and they aren't going to back off it.  Fans are screaming at a brick wall.

If you don't think the EC has ANY chance, then it's time to walk away.

So it's about raging against the rage then?  That seems equally pointless to me.  Just as Bioware doesn't want to listen to them, they aren't going to listen to you, so I ask you the same question:  Why bother?  Wouldn't it be easier to come back in a few days once everyone has finished and discuss it then, instead of raging against the pre-release rage?

Most things are on PST for them since that is the time zone that they are in.  As for that exact time, I have no idea.

I wouldn't call it "rage" against the rage as much as "annoyance."  If I was actually ANGRY about this, I wouldn't be here, I'd probably be stomping off to my nearby coffee shop, getting the biggest smoothie they have, and soothe my nerves with a strawberry triple chocolate truffle.

It's good.  Don't judge me.

As to the rest, yeah. it probably is.  It is a weakness of mine to rail against what I perceive to be stupidity.  I shouldn't... but I do.  Occasionally, I get through to someone, but yeah, it's often not worth it.

That truffle sounds good.  I don't really care for smoothies, but I'd grab a coffee.

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised it's done this early. Props to Bioware for busting their bottoms to get it done.

PS: Although if EC doesn't deliver people will talk about how they wished they had taken 3 extra months to get it done. I'm hoping EC really does deliver, cheering you on Bioware.

I'd like to say I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm not. In fact my expectations are as low as they're going to get I think. Maybe I'll like EC more this way. Expectations that were too high was the reason I was so disappointed by ME3 in general (though at the time, expecting a game as good as or better than ME2 didn't seem unreasonable, but here we are).

The Xbox Marketplace usually updates around 6:00 AM Eastern, so I would assume it will be around that time for the folks on Xbox.  I'm not sure when the PS3 store updates, and the PC version could be anytime after midnight beccause it just needs to be uploaded to the Origin servers.
