And I'll say this: if Shepard still has to choose his suicide at the hands of the Catalyst, and cannot survive Destroy, then BioWare has completely wasted their time and resources for nothing.
I honestly have a hard time picturing this being worth a damn. And I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I am excited, no matter what silliness people on the forums have to say about it. You guys rock and I cannot wait to see what you have done with it!
Did you like the original ending? Did you not understand the original ending, but thought it might have been okay? Did you (something about closure)?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then the EC DLC is meant for you, and I honestly hope you enjoy it. If you fall into some other catagory, I honestly hope the EC DLC will make you happy.
I am much more pessimistic that it will do anything to improve my opinion of ME3. At most it will improve my opinion of ME3's ending, and I honestly hope it does. I don't view your opinion of ME3, its endind, or the EC DLC as silly, and I would hope that you would extend the same courtesy to min.

The ending that shipped with the game was a disasater. The EC DLC is going to expand upon that ending. I hope you are wrong too, but I have no reason to believe you will be.

So is pee in a jar to some people, but I wouldn't want to play with it.
Nah, you have to put something in the pee in the jar to make it art. That is where BioWare truely failed with ME3, they forgot to put something in the pee.

Personally, I am waiting HOW they will try to explain it ....I know it will fail to fill the plotholes so I am wondering still.
Star Child + Mass Relays gone = A dead Mass Effect universe.

If it goes well, then awesome, i have me3 and a skyrim expansion to play any minutes I'm not at work.
If it's terrible, well, skyrim expansion. (I hope it's awesome though)

This.
I hope they noticed that the "best ending" to a lot of people wasn't any of the forced suicides, but the one with the clip of Shepard breathing.
Look, Bioware! A clue!

But I'm still going to refuse to even look at the Internet for a day or two while I work my way through the ending again. From roughly since the EC was announced I really didn't believe the endings could be made any better if kept as is but I really want to keep loving Mass Effect so I'm going to hold my final judgment until I'm done with it.

I don't think it was Jessica's job to investigate and interrogate Mac/hudson on their decisions for EC. She ask all the good objective questions, such as how far back you should load a save. That's the most important question she could have asked.

You are correct, it is her job to only ask the questions the PR department wrote, as it was the job of Mr. Hudson and Mr. Walters to answer the questions in the manner the PR department wrote.

Seriously Bioware, we want you to just be honest with us and just admit that we were not happy with your decision. All this interview did was show you are very well versed in double talk, artsy fartsy blather and back patting.
Having said that, the fact it is 1.9 GB is somewhat promising. That is about 400 MB larger than the Shadow Broker DLC so that gives me a little jolt of hope. Remember how much was packed into Lair of the Shadow Broker? Huge outdoor sets for the ship, a complete level in the office complex, branching dialogue in the romantic scenes, etc. Perhaps this DLC will not have everything we want, but it could deliver more than we feared it wouldn't.
Having also said that....I will likely hear from someone else or watch the footage on Youtube before I download it. Just to be safe.

A few minutes in when Mac or Casey were talking about closure and how you get to see all your decisions play out in the universe, I couldn't stop thinking that I have heard all this before. I can't believe a word that comes out of their mouths.
I want to be excited but I can't stop thinking that I would rather just play Skyrim that revisit that abortion of an ending.
I still hope it's great, though. I hope I am wrong and in a few days I will feel like an ass for writing this.
::EDIT::
I will add a big thank you to Bioware for even releasing an extended cut, regardless of how I will feel about the DLC I still appreciate that you took the time to bring it into existance and attempted to rebuild the bridge between you and your fans.
Good luck for the 26th. I'll be shoved head first into an MRI that day, so sadly I will be missing it.

June 26th at which time exactly?
Depends on the platform.
Microsoft usually updates the Live Marketplace at around 2:00 am PST.
For PC it usually comes out around lunchtime (again PST)
Sony is inconsistent about when they update the marketplace but usually its in the evening

Because without hyperbole or error, the Mass Effect series is indisputably the finest, greatest single achievement in videogame storytelling in the medium so far. I could write a book on why exactly Mass Effect is as good as I say it is, and why other gaming efforts of similar ilk simply aren't, but in large part ME's valediction lies in the future, after all is done with it.
Can't wait for Tuesday.
