Who the hell asked for closure, Bioware claiming people asked for that is like walters cherry picking who he acknowledges on his twitter. They continue to not address the issues that plague the ending and the podcast confirms that.

But again, this is where we're at.

And we should not be happy about it.

The "take what we can get" mentality is partially what brought us to this place to begin with.

BTW -- Have you seen Miss Strahovski's Sobe commercial?

I'd like a lot of things, but at this point we can't get what we want.

The damage to their reputation will be the pay back for some people, as awful as that sounds.

No I haven't. I don't care to either.

We can. It's called "destruction of reputation," as you noted. If they can't perform, they don't deserve such a prestigious one.

And oh? It's like seeing Miranda Lawson in a bikini.

Yeah, that's my impression as well. Bioware always said they wouldn't change the ending, but clarify it and add some closure, which is what many people asked for. Now that they deliver what they said they would, how the hell is that bad?

Maybe, just maybe, people thought they wouldn't be so obtuse and pig-headed to actually follow through with that idea given that it is clearly not enough.
The ending does not need clarification. It is broken. It needs to be fixed.

No. "Fixed" means taking the existing concept and changing it to something better. What the most outspoken people here want is for the ending to be replaced, or so it comes across to me. That was never going to happen, and to expect it *is* unrealistic.

Besides, "clarification" can do a lot of things, even retcons. If Bioware wants. The big things for me are the Catalyst dialogue and the dark age. If the former is changed to make sense (which I consider possible) and the latter explicitly denied or at least radically shortened in at least one ending, the EC will have fixed enough for me to count it as a good thing. As long as it doesn't add bad stuff.

Edit:
Many, many people *did* ask for closure, including me. It was one of most common complaints actually. People wanted to know what happens after to the characters, the locations and the species of the ME universe.

As stated a few posts up, BSN can be a
miserable place especially when people **** about the same **** over
and over and over. if ur that pissed, then boycott bioware and kindly
shut up about it. Be disgruntled and pout somewhere else. Hell. Start
ur own message board where u all can ****** in a circle jerk to how bad
bioware is. Just keep it over there.

Damn. Miserable ass, entitled crows...

Ah, yes.  No room for opinions that don't agree with yours.

Ive dismissed this claim.  I don't care for the endings as they are but for the love of Judas there's stating your opinion and being a broken record.

She is not Miranda. Miranda is not a real person either.

**** gets weird when you start making connections like that.

This is why the woman who plays Tali has no Twitter.

People can't tell the difference.

Hmmm... I don't know, Sroka is not sexy (in my opinion) and the Talimancers are more superficial than Mirimancers. No offense there Taboo, I know why you like her.

I will reserve judgement until I play the DLC. However that podcast just seemed to say "We're making our awesome ending even better!". If that is the case then they missed the point. The ending stunk. That's how we got into this mess in the first place. I will remain hopeful that with a 1.9 gig DLC, which is bigger than the Shadow broker DLC of ME2, will be much more than just a plain epilogue.

It's a little more complicated than that.

But I do find it a bit rude that you think I'm shallow enough to go after someone becuase I like how they look.

We've already discussed Miranda remember? You thought I was angry because she couldn't have kids?

Please don't assume I'm that kind of person.

Then I apologize for what I said.

Yes, I find the reasons most people like her to be inappropriate.

In an alternate reality the ending was logical and narrativley coherent and mass effect 2 and three were of a more traditional rpg type.

I just want narrative coherence and yes maybe the happy ending I strived for I had saved everyone the game allowed all me2 squad mates survived wrex lived ashley lived I full paragoned everything was set as perfectly as the game allowed but the only thing I saw was three "choices" that all sounded bad I DIDN'T CHOOSE an ending I left my game with Shepard standing there so the mass relays wouldn't explode.

Anyone see smud boys book ends for me3 listen to the last one it is an hour and a half but he found every error everything that made me mad sad depressed about the ending and after watching that I think extended cut is trying to build on a foundation that is not up to code

Here is the video if you have the time watch it Mass Effect 3: Bookends of Destruction Part 5 - YouTube

If extended cut just makes me more mad sad depressed I will not spend the 1600 ms points I am getting for my birthday on overlord and arrival but instead spend it on skyrim dawnguard

(my birthday is on june 26 and that is the day that so much dlc comes out verry odd coincidence)

"sorry if I was to emotional there but that's what makes us human emotion, choice and, hope without it there is nothing".

I know
I am not a rocketman blowing up my fuse up here alone.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion-- bashing people over the head with it, and therefore preventing other discussion from proceeding apace, is not allowed.

Let's keep the conversation on-topic, exploring the questions we have about the upcoming Extended Cut DLC. Let's try to do it without hostility, incivility, and a constant negative refrain.

Thank you,

RI

Ten. Minutes.

Well I heard so many people telling ten minutes changed their whole ME experience over the last months...

I won't say the EC will fix the ending for all people, but for me the intention of it goes in the right direction. The very ending after the final decision was so rushed and equal in all endings that it hurt. There also was a lack of a longer epilogue for such a big triology. To adress these things 10 minutes are more than enough. But well star child and its solution will still be there, so there will be many unhappy people too. Still I can live with more closure, others may not.

still has space hitler so cannot be that good.  How Bioware convinced themselves that having us accept the options offered by the worst mass murderer in the history of life itself was justifiable I can't see.  It's like playing World at war , storming Berlin, getting into the bunker and then....putting on an SS uniform.

I don't know if we got the option to tell the little tosser what to go do with itself and actually fight the Reapers it wouldn't be so bad.
My biggest issue remains that you are forced to surrender to this vile creature.

I thought the object was to save the galaxy not destroy it by throwing a tantrum.

Some victories aren't worth it.  Agreeing with Space Hitler is one of those.   Better to go down fighting then buy into it's sick, murderous propoganda.

Is some of the auto dialogue when you are talking to the catalyst replaced because I do not think the illusive man was right after all.
