And this is why I'm waiting for reviews.

Yeah man, wait for reviews.  Wouldn't want to waste any money on that free DLC when you can be an internet hipster and act like you're too good for free content.

The problem is that it's possible some of us might think the ending is actually WORSE if the DLC sucks. So even though it's free I also won't blindly take it, if it ends up just making everything worse.

Space magic incoming!!!!

Here's hoping they have a few more logical explanations than that....

Guys, this will do little to change what's fundamentally WRONG with the endings.

Could it make the endings suck less? Yes. But in the end, we'll still have:

The Catalyst kid with insane logic which in a couple of minutes manages to destroy essential themes in Mass Effect such as diversity, the need for cooperation and how genocide (AI or organic) is wrong
Choose your ending! A, B, C
Relays destroyed, rendering many victories achieved throughout the series void

We might get some nice scenes about our favourite characters, but it won't completely change the ending experience. If you think it will, you're deluded.

That was obvious though...

You'd be amazed.

I was trying to explain that to people since before the game was released over on that Space Edition spoiler group and the original ending thread. The level of refusal to believe that was nothing short of astounding. It ranged all the way from "Hackett would never give that order!" to "Joker would never leave, even if Hackett ordered him!" all the way straight through to "Joker didn't have time to run!".

Please no one start that here. There is no logical way to explain it so just don't start. I know many people think they are clairvoyant in some way, but no explanation you come up with can justify the logical fallacies not even considering the character inconsistencies

Since the EC does not remove the Catalyst, the official ending for me will remain to be Koobismo's Marauder Shields comics. To be completely honest, I don't really care about what Bioware writes as this point, because I prefer getting my Mass Effect from the best possible writer.

I reject Bioware's canon and substitute it with Koobismo's.

It will either be a specatacular redemption for BioWare...or it will blow.

It's tough for me to hear their answer as to why people were upset is because they felt players wanted "more closure." Closure wasn't the primary issue, it was the Normandy crash scene and the Star-child, which were both terrible. Maybe I'm in the minority, I don't know, but my issue with those aspects of the ending are orders of magnitude larger than lack of closure ...

Something I noticed in the interview, they talked about how they knew this would be the end of Shepard's story but they want to imply that the crew lives on in the new galaxy but if Shepard survives the destroy ending shouldn't he live on as well? This is what I am most eager to find out on Tuesday.
Also I'm happy it's coming out so much sooner but also worried, I gladly would have waited until August just so they could make it even longer but I guess there are limits to what they can do since it's free DLC.

*Also shame on Bioware for leaving Kaidan out of the promo pic*

There are a lot of people on here saying that Walters and Hudson aren't to be trusted but are also taking all of their comments in this video at their 100 percent literal value.

In the FAQ:

How large is the Extended Cut?
  • The Extended Cut requires roughly 1.9 gigabytes of storage.

I'm feeling the same.
Because I got the impression that they didn't change the Catalyst scene in any way. Which is terrible since it doesn't make any sense.

As long as I can get a LI reunion I'll... well, not forgive... I'll... forgo my anger toward the illogical endings.

Just let Shepard and Kaidan ride off into the sunset together. PLEASE

I notice how Casey said near the beginning "Get a hold of what the future holds for the Mass Effect series."

Series? Like what we see in EC could have implications on how the series steps forward in the future?

Could be bad wording on his part, but there it is. Speculate! Image IPB

So...... yeah, the most obvious explanation.

Admirable but stupid concepts, and an execution as smooth as the headsman repeatedly slamming his axe into the victim's face.
