Another question here. My EMS is full right now (green bar is at the top), even though my readiness is only at 50%. I also just got the best possible destruction ending as though I have over 6000 EMS. My scores are 6536 TMS and 3268 EMS.

Did Bioware patch the game so that we don't need multiplayer any more?

Apparently they did something to ease up on the gamers that are not really into multiplayer, but I don't know what specifically.
As I tend to spend a fair amount of time on multiplayer, my TMS is equal to my EMS. So, as you can see, the EMS is strongly related to the Galactic Readiness at this point, as in a procentual quantity/quality of your War Assets. If your readiness is 100%, all your army will be ready to fight, but at 50% only half of your army will be ready. That's kinda how it works.
They kinda tried to push the multiplayer on gamers, which isn't fair. There are ways to get your EMS over 5000 to get the "gasp" scene and that's by scaning systems / planets and finding all the lost or hidden (i don't know the logic behind this) war assets, but that also is a tedious and not fun activity. My opinion: play around 10 matches on multyplayer (starting from 50% readiness) and you'll get to what you want. It's better than playing fetch while the Galaxy burns.

I'm thinking, that most (not all of course!) of the players who are uber stressed about earning more EMS without MP are pirates without access to MP, cause i find it hard to imagine why someone would plain out refuse to play a few bronze matches just so he can have some added EMS.
Of course some players have their reasons, so to them i apologize if my generalization offended them in some way.

After the ending, everything fades to white, and then shepard is suddenly on the geth facility with Legion, just coming out of the pod thingy.

"Shepard commander"

"what happened, why am I here..I thought I was..?"

"When one perceived a return to normal reality, one was in fact entering a simulation, shepard commander. One could not obtain enough quantities of data to reliably predict the outcome of such an event. One had to be..sure.

" None of that was real? What about the catalyst?"

"A fabrication. It was necessary for one to believe in a higher purpose in order to motivate ones actions. The child was a strong emotional marker in your memory data shepard, a symbol of your humanity. It was the most logical image to present the choice."

"Then what have we been building all this time? What about my team?"

"One has insufficient data regarding the weapon, one is still coming to a consensus. Shepard commander's friends are waiting on the Normandy. The weapon is almost complete shepard commander, you will be required to make a choice."

"And what of earth? How much time has passed?!"

"The simulation only lasted 3.186 hours in real-time shepard commander, ones consciousness was accelerated within the program. One could have increased the speed, but one would also increase the probability of errors within the program to beyond an acceptable margin.
One would have preferred more time, however the Quarian fleet has chosen to attack, many geth platforms have been expended to give you enough time shepard commander."

TBC..

I actually do like this....the only problem is that the game still does then need an ending, but if we'd gotten some very specific hints as to that, it still could have been ok.

If you look at the galaxy map once you have opened up all the systems you can open, there are a few that are still closed-presumably for DLC.  The intent may have been (and since they've confirmed there will be DLC to come), to actually create more DLC to impact further ending scenarios.  It's hard to believe them, but so much of what I've read that they've said leads me to believe this is possible.  The ending as it is even in the EC may not even yet be the "real" ending.  If so, though they needed to let us in on the joke and let us enjoy the ride, too.

Seeing as a Crucible is supposed to be a test and a Catalyst is supposed to help initiate an action, I don't know what they were going for with that whole thing and this is one way or one example of how a test could be explored.  I wanted to believe that the choices were indeed a test to see what Shepard would do and not what would actually happen.

Thank you! It opens up any possibility of an ending you can think of, and explains perhaps why the reason behind the endings makes little sense. Its a stepping stone they could use to rectify what is already done, and its not the indoctrination theory, which they wouldnt do now simply because of how well known it is - a twist like this is still unexpected.

I noticed a few spots on the map where you have lines appear as if a route to the system, but nothing to click, as well as some areas that act as if a planet should be there but its invisible..

I keep seeing on the forum, mentioning of the "Breath" scene being removed, did this come from a official source? Or are people being hysterical

Well thats it, did another playthrough to before the cerberus mission, got my readiness to 80%, everything crossed for a total victory ending.

Now just got to do a night shift before the EC, gonna be a long night!

To be clear, you got the "Shepard gasps" ending?

I know that they said the EMS was going to be fixed, but as far as I know that was supposed to happen in the EC.

Yeah, I got Shepard gasps. I have a full green bar (no grey) on only 3268 EMS.

The ME series is done! The main protagonist has been made pointless! Why did make everything so convoluted??? Just keep the reapers and simple and clear villans with no purpose other than destruction!

Simple but effective...........Then cerberus could have been the new enemie's in anything ME3 dlc or ME4 related.... they just completely ruined it with starbrat and 3 choices.

(Tried to post this as a new thread, and got locked for some reason, so here it is.)

EC, too little, too late?

Personally, I didn't like how ME 3 ended - for alot of reasons.

Had the original game contained all of the EC supposed features,
like a full and detailed presentation of the ending, and some kind of epilogue,
I think that I would have swallowed it and moved on.

I probably wouldn't have liked it very much, but it wouldn't have caused me to start looking at everything
stamped with EA or BioWare with wariness and suspicion.

So for me personally, the whole EC initiative seems like a classical case of "too little, too late",
something that I may watch on youtube, but not something that will cause me to actually replay the game,
change drastically my view on it, or erase my grudge over the fact that I paid for a full epic game and got
something with disappointing and obviously rushed and half-as**d ending.

So, what do you think?

Well, you need a registered copy of the game to even post on here, so I can't be a pirate.

Also, I'm not averse to multiplayer, I just don't want to play any more of it. I played loads back in March. I think it's bull that we had to play it at one point to get a good ending, it completely dates the experience. What if, in 10 years time, I wanted to play through the trilogy with my kids? I could never get a decent outcome because the servers will have long shut down. This is in contrast to nearly all videogames before this current generation, videogames I can still plug in and play with no hassle at all. This multiplayer business is just EA's new idea of DRM. I like the idea, but it simply isn't fair to the longevity of the product.

Besides, I only asked a simple question of why I got the gasp, even though I'm only at 50%.

So, uh, is the EC actually going to fix the real problems with ME3 and make the fans happy again?

No?

Still allergic to money?

Unclear.

Seriously though, I was hoping Bioware would be smart enough to be aware that there were PROBLEMS with ME3 to be able to fix them in EC but it seems that ... nothing is being fixed if I understand people correctly?

So, what happens now?

ETA: I'm also one of the people who can't play MP on PC because Bioware doesn't think it's important for Deaf people to be able to communicate via text in MP. :(

Just play the game, nobody communicates anyway. Just do your thing and stick with the team. Don't worry about communication, nobody else does.

I've tried, but I've found it's impossible. BECAUSE NEED STRATEGY. I quit MP because that was just too stupid to try without communication. I *NEED* communication. D:

The main reason why I don't play MP because if I want to socialize with people in my free time, I'd rather spend that time with RL friends than undergo online chore with strangers. Games are something like books to me. You enjoy these private moments alone with the source of thoughts/entertainment.

I understand that threads about MP effect on SP can be quite passionate sometimes but claiming that everyone dismissing MP, except some weirdos, is not a legitimate customer doesn't help to discussion either. Of course, same goes for the other way around.

To return to non-OT themes, I've read posts discussing possible patches inside EC DLC. If I remember correctly, BW marketed EC as an optional (i.e. "You don't have to install it if you like the current ending"), so I doubt bug fixes will be a part of package.

Villains that are evil just for the sake of evil is something you see in cartoons. If theres a cycle to the reapers reaping it shows theres more behind them than just the desire for simple destruction.

This is why people who know nothing about how other people think should not make generalizations. Your assumption is wrong.

When I purchased the first ME game, I purchased an RPG, not a freaking MP first person shooter. Ditto for ME2 (and I was one of the ones complaining about the "streamlined" BS BioWare kept handing us about ME2 because I saw where they were headed). When I preordered ME3, I did it on blind faith that BioWare wouldn't screw me over and force me to play a game I didn't want - i.e., a MP shooter. They said they weren't forcing it, that you could get the best ending without having to play MP. They lied. Outright and directly.

The funny part is that, if the game had been one I enjoyed playing - i.e., one that left me feeling good at the end instead of like taking the ME disks out and using them for target practice - I'd have happily started another game and played their stupid MP crap. I'd have dropped money on the weapons packs and other MP garbage, despite not particularly liking MP games. Most of my friends who play the game feel the same way I do. I have an XBox Live Gold membership. I'd use it for this game...IF IT WAS WORTH IT! Unfortunately, it's not.

Furthermore, "pirates" aren't the only ones without access to MP. Some people with an XBox don't pay for the gold account. Some don't want it. They bought the game but can't play MP. They are not pirates. Assuming that they are shows a great deal of ignorance.

That is offensive, especially since anyone posting here has a registered copy of the game. Do some basic research before tossing out accusations.
Not everyone has a persistant internet connection for the game, nor the time to waste on a mediocre MP experience.
A few of us are looking far enough down the road to when the servers are shut off, and want a complete game then too.
Fortunately it's hopefully no longer an issue with EC.

Anyone posting here can't be a pirate.

Anyways I just don't want to play MP. I don't like, I have no desire to play it. I paid for a game that claimed I could get all the endings with just SP. So yeah. I want what I was told I was buying.

But I digress.  I agree that the poster (way) above is generallizing incorrectly.  If we can post here, it means we have a legit copy of the game.  Some people, myself included, simply do not like the fact that MP (or some third party app) is REQUIRED to unlock all the endings of the game.
