That was obvious though...

You'd be amazed.

I was trying to explain that to people since before the game was released over on that Space Edition spoiler group and the original ending thread. The level of refusal to believe that was nothing short of astounding. It ranged all the way from "Hackett would never give that order!" to "Joker would never leave, even if Hackett ordered him!" all the way straight through to "Joker didn't have time to run!".

Please no one start that here. There is no logical way to explain it so just don't start. I know many people think they are clairvoyant in some way, but no explanation you come up with can justify the logical fallacies not even considering the character inconsistencies

...case in point.

Something I noticed in the interview, they talked about how they knew this would be the end of Shepard's story but they want to imply that the crew lives on in the new galaxy but if Shepard survives the destroy ending shouldn't he live on as well? This is what I am most eager to find out on Tuesday.
Also I'm happy it's coming out so much sooner but also worried, I gladly would have waited until August just so they could make it even longer but I guess there are limits to what they can do since it's free DLC.

*Also shame on Bioware for leaving Kaidan out of the promo pic*

Honestly I think one of the things they will change is that they will delete the "Shepard gasping for air" scene from the destroy ending. I am pretty sure they will make it be so Shepard is dead no matter what. Also Jennifer Hale had said before that she never got any invites from BW to come back for more Ending stuff (albeit that interview was a few months ago so something could have changed).

However I still am pretty sure they will probably delete that little scene with Shepard breathing in the rubble.

It's a shame I will be out of town and unable to enjoy the immense failure which you all call the EC when it arrives.

But nonetheless, the destruction of the Indoctrination Delusion, will surely make up for the overwhelming sense of despair which will surely arise from such a catastrophic disappointment.

So it'll literally only provide closure? No changes at all to the Catalyst scene? Not even a few additional lines just so the scene isn't completely nonsensical?
I think I'll stick with my headcanon...

Yeah man!  You stick with your fanfiction and tell them to take their free stuff and shove it!  That'll show 'em!  Think of all the money they'll lose from you not buying free stuff not just now, but for years down the line!

I would have liked some reassurance that they are going to reflect the Shep lives ending somehow. All that talk about the crew and no mention of Shep made me nervous. Maybe i've just been conditioned to being suspicious now.

Okay, so on one hand I have Dawnguard, an expansion pack for Skyrim, a game which has already satisfied me both story and gameplay wise, and best of all, had 5 years in development.

On the other hand, I have the extended cut for ME3, which is pretty much just an extension of the same ending that disappointed me. And despite everyone saying what exactly is wrong with the endings, Bioware have still insisted that clarity is all that is needed.

Yeah, I think I might just watch the EC on youtube while playing Dawnguard.

Spoiler maybe; The 4th picture on the announcement site looks like a "Shepard Funeral" in front of the Memorial wall on a crashed Normandy.

I too noticed this. I hope that this is just ONE of the posibilities... Oh I'm going to be so furious if my Shep does not survive at all and get reunited with LI.

Well if they do that i'll be done with Bioware. No changes except a change that utterly railroads Shep's death would be completely unacceptable. Grrrr better not happen.

I can't wait for everyone else to download it and comment on it so I can decide whether it is worthwhile continuing or not with my current playthrough.

Nope.

They don't think the story itself is the problem (from the interview), which most complaints about the ending center on (the choice itself).

This is just going to expand on the existing endings, like they announced.

If you hated the ending because of it's story elements, you'll get nothing different - just an expansion on what already happened.

Even if people still don't like the original endings to the game, I'm glad to see the team actually acknowledging their mistakes. Rarely do you see big game developers address their fanbases in such a manner and put in some extra scenes as quickly as they did. I'm expecting the forums to once again explode with people criticizing the developers and the writers for their work, but I'm also glad to see that they gave a damn. Faith restored.... for now!

It's not funeral (although Shepards funeral is possible, sure)- it's list of names of Normandy crew which died during missions- they're "only" paying homage to fallen.

"Closure with the characters" this is great and all, but the overarching story was what was butchered the most

And weird...

It felt strange when the game pushed you back just exactly before the Cerberus base assault, and now the Extended Cut begins there, hmmm...

It was for any future DLC to be released. Priority: Cerberus Headquaters is the point of no return, so it's not like Mass Effect 1 where you had to start a whole new game to play DLC.
