Apparrently if rumors are true, there will be a 4th option, to reject the choices starbrat gives you.
Now I don't know if this is for real, and I don't know if there will be an option to save Shepard, (downloading the EC as I am typing this) but if this is true, then I will say this, I am thankful for the option.

I'll know in a few hours. It is too bad that I won't be able to play the EC till I get home from work. But...
We'll see.

ps: nm, just went back to read the past few pages.
ah well.
I had hopes.
They really should have just retcon, and fixed what was wrong.
Anyways, I'll be going in with excess of 14,000 ems, think that'll help? :D

I was satisfied with the old ending, but the new one adds some nice stuff without doing too much damage. It kind of defeats the purpose of destroying the relays if they're just going to be repaired in short order and I'm not sure what the point of the Normandy crash is anymore. I was unsurprised by any of the epilogues -- it's all what I imagined to have happened. But at least now that idiotic indoctrination theory can have a stake driven in its heart. Eh, who am I kidding? It's just going to mutate into something even dumber.

Is it just my imagination or did they fix Shepard's burnt face? If so, that's my favorite part of the DLC.

Made people wait for that? It took longer for the download than for the message in all of the endings...

But I do thank you... I thank you for making this the last one, and the last game I would purchase from your company...

EC sucks. The explanation for each ending is sooooooo ill-contrived.

I knew most of the people on this forum wouldn't be happy with the EC. The people who have stuck around are all the people who wanted something completely different than what was originally given and we were told that the ending wouldn't change but be expanded upon. If you held out hope for something dramatically different you set yourself up for disappointment. It's unfortunate that you aren't happy with the game you spent money on, but if you keep asking for a rewrite/retcon/whatever you are wasting your time and energy.

A question for those who liked the ending of ME3 or EC :

"Since when the conflict between synthetic and organic becomes the theme of ME series?"

Please inspire me.

Turns out, it didn't download correctly.

Goddamn it all. I don't want to replay since Cronos one goddamn more time.

This is crap.

Seen all the endings now.

Definitely a big improvement over what it was, but there's still some bad stuff there. Like how ridiculously silly it was to have the Normandy come do a pick up while Harbinger so obligingly just sits there in the background. The epilogue was nice, although still really open ended. I was kinda hoping on more detailed stuff on what happened to everyone besides a sorta general "They lived happily ever after". And the breath scene is completely unchanged... that was a bit of a slap to the face really.

Overall I did like it, but it's far from perfect

I have to agree with this thought.  I think Tassi pretty much sums up my sentiments now that I have seen the endings.

Time for my Shepard to rest with my own thoughts and vision of how his journey ends.  Frankly, the fans' concepts (a couple of them) are more in line with what I thought would be appropriate endings for this story.

Goodbye Commander Shepard, wherever you are.  [Fade to Black]

The worst part of the EC was that it prompted me to come back to this Hell hole of a forum. It's like coming back to a moldy sandwich that has liquified and congealed.

If you don't like BioWare and the game, leave already. Drop off the face of the Earth while you're at it.

Love it! The squadmates get a larger role, after their regrettably small part in the original ending. It gives more closure, but not so much that the universe just ends. The explanations are helpful and the abilities to argue at the end was much wanted. The 4th ending is just right if that's the course you want. And the others (especially Synthesis) feel like bittersweet victories now, not like loses. Were the old cut left the Mass Effect galaxy in a worse state as it was in the start, the new cut advanced it (as it should). Great work, thank you.

You don't have to start at the Cerberus base.  If you have already beaten the game, you can load Citadel: The Return instead.  At least, that's what this site says:

This is a big disappointment to me, they could have used indoctrination theory, everything would fit perfectly.

Instead, they have rewritten the badly written scenes with even worse writing only to make that goddamn mess make some sense (for example - tensing run to the beam replaced with long touching scene with Harbinger looking for them so they don't get hurt...by some husk maybe or normandy suddenly not exploding during the escape).

They can't be ****ing serious, how could they have done something like this. I hoped...i believed that the whole thing with unfinished ending was the way to deliver an unforgettable experience telling us "you were being indoctrinated, enjoy the real fight now". Nothing of it happened, franchise buried.

"They are telling us, why their **** stinks, rather than giving us something that isn't smelly ****." - somebody on Angry Joes twitter

"They didn't make it exactly like I would have done, so therefore it must suck!"

That logic was flawed 3 months ago, it is flawed today, and it will be flawed tomorrow. Still I guess the haters will continue to hate.

I thought it was ever since the synthetic Geth led by the synthetic Reapers began conflict by attacking the organic residents of Eden Prime, forcing the organic Shepard & Co. to fight the synthetic Geth etc.

I admit, I may have misinterpreted your question. If so, I apologize.

The logic isn't flawed when the fans come up with a theory that would have made the ending far better than what it is currently, even after the EC. Maybe had the ending actually been good, like DAO's, the logic would be flawed.
