Angry One, are you trolling, or do you believe Bioware is really going to make the EC involve characters like Tali and Garrus dying because of the ending, despite the highest assets. If you do believe it, then I've either say "I guess you were right" if it's true, or "I guess you were wrong" if it's not. If you're just trolling, then at least I know I shouldn't bother with you.

If they insist on their Garden of Eden ending, then that's exactly what will happen.
You cannot trump logic with "clarification". If the crew of the Normandy are trapped on that planet then Garrus and Tali will die. Period.

If they are rescued, then they'll need a damn good explanation since the shot in the OP directly implies all ships fled and hence got their engines shredded.
So, disabled ships, no relay FTL, no knowledge of where they are.. and they're going to get rescued? Like I said, damn good explanation required.

So true. Image IPB

So Hackett tells Joker to run. Saw this coming a mile away weeks ago, then thought, nawww, they wouldn't stoop that low.

*sigh*

Maybe Joker at least argues w/ him about it.

I wonder how long pasts between the Crucible powering up and firing.
I remember it been relatively short.

It seemed relatively short to me, too.

But really, who knows how much time passed? Shepard blacked out..twice. Once while sitting by Anderson. And once after trying toreach the mysterious extra switch-y thing.

Keep in mind that we could still see ships battling Reapers while the kid talks.  Either something has to change or the timing of it still doesn't add up.

No, I'm okay about this.

By saying this you've made sure the dumbest theory ever will be posted by Seival after the EC was released. Though it's not your fault. They're already making the EC vague.

I don't understand people's problem with this; the results of the interaction between the crucible and the catalyst are unknown to Hackett; he has a duty of care not only to the human component of the fleet but the sundry other species that comprise it, why would the Turians want to die pointlessly in the sol system rather than returning Palaven if the crucible fails or is dangerous. After all in low EMS games the earth's population is wiped out and the Normandy crew is killed, it only makes sense to attempt flight in that scenario

yes, indeed we do....hmmm.. maybe those were stragglers? Ones that weren't fast enough trying to get outta Dodge?

Or, the rear squad like someone said? I really don't know. Lol. But we'll see. We'll see what they came up with to explain that.

But where are these other screen shots ppl are talking about? All I see is that one with Joker.

So am I the only one here that is excited for this? Has everyone already assumed it will be crap? One of the screenshots shows what appears to be an unmasked tali with a geth somewhere that is not a tropical planet. That seems to indicate that the squad is not stuck on the jungle planet. Also, in the interview, Mac says that people are not starving to death. I mean, the ending will still have flaws no doubt, but at least the EC might leave us manner that shows how the universe can continue. Anyways, I'm waiting until Tuesday to judge. If it sucks, then I'll go play some other games. If not, then great. I guess I'll find out Tuesday.

Yes, they're unknown. As in, he doesn't know that it's dangerous.
What he DOES know is that the Crucible will affect the galaxy, because it interacts with the mass relays and... that's the whole point of it.

There. Is. Literally. Nowhere. To. Run.

If you want to clear the immediate area, fine. But intra-cluster travel (at the very least)? WHY?

I'm looking forward to it. Although, I'm trying not to be excited. I want to go in with no expectations and see what happens.

But honestly, more content is more content as far I'm concerned. I'll never turn down more content...heh, heh.

*ahem*
5 screenshots, 1 FAQ, and 1 ten minute youtube video.

Also, it doesn't help when the first screenshot pretty much says "Hey! Look guys, we're keeping this horrible "Garden fo Eden" idea in our game and we're character assassinating people left and right for it to make more sense. Hope you love it! Buy more MP stuff with real money, bye!"

They've made it clear since they announced the extended cut that they aren't actualy changing the endings.  They are just expanding upon them and clarifying them.  Where have you been?

How does that look like an unmasked Tali?
You can't make out her face because she is looking to the side of the picture, but she's still wearing the hood.
See, now you're just getting your hopes up too much.

It's also not Tali, the pattern on the side of the hood is different, as is the chest.

There is so much more information we can take from all that material, but frankly I can't bother to repeat myself for the hundredth time and your tone doesn't encourage me to do that, either.

In a happy place hoping they would actually deliver on what they stated before the game was launched instead of polishing the BS we got. *shrug* Oh well, I'll play it, but I'm not exactly thrilled with what I'm hearing currently.

Might as well post it here. This is what Hackett says:

"All Fleets: The Crucible is armed. Disengage and head to the rendezvous point."

BSN Logic: That still makes no sense! Hackett would never order that! Joker would never abandon Shepard! The crew teleported! And now you're telling me EVERY ship in the fleet was in transit and got blowed up and stranded when the Crucible went off!

I'm building a time machine to CANCEL MY PREORDER!

Of course it doesn't make any bloody sense. For one, we see the Reapers and our fleet still fighting even as we walk towards the "consoles" for each choice and jump into them. Second, nobody has any clue what the Crucible really does, nor can they be sure the Reapers wouldn't try and deactivate it. Third, between the arming and firing of the Crucible there is like what, 10 seconds? Not even remotely enough time for any of the ships to disengage. And fourth, trying to disengage from a fight like that will only get the fleet torn to pieces.

But it is as I said the moment the EC got anounced the first time, they'll make up the weirdest and most nonsensical sh*t trying to explain all the holes in the ending. This is one of them.

Isn't there? In a low EMS game Earth is wiped out, but we know that this isn't the fate of all life in the galaxy due to the Stargazer, he had to have ancestors.

And only in low EMS. One would think that with high EMS, there would be more scientists, resources and research on the thing to give Hackett some assurances of how safe it was.
But no apparently every single person working on the Crucible was a blind monkey with ADD.

Regardless, again. Fine, vacate the immediate area.  There is absolutely no basis for fleeing the system.

Do people not understand how fast ships can disengage from a fight and get into FTL?

Look at Mass Effect 2. Look how fast Joker fled from the Collector ship as it was firing on the SR2. The entire fleet had more than enough time to see the Crucible start lighting up after Shepard makes his choice, then make the jump into FTL speeds to wherever their RV point is. There's still nothing to indicate where that RV point is if it's beyond the Sol relay or somewhere in system.

It occurs to me that one possible explanation for the inconsistencies people are bringing up is if Joker does disobey the order to retreat, and that's why he hasn't reached the rendezvous point with the rest of the fleet when the wave hits. It doesn't really explain why his engines are destroyed, but it would be a start. At any rate, I'm not going to judge the EC on one screenshot. We'll simply have to see it to know.

My only hope right now is that the Normandy did reach the rendezvous point and that scene from the end is extended and shows shuttles from the fleet coming down to pick up the crew. Followed by them being told that Shepard is alive and in intensive care on the flagship or something. It will be nice that this whole ordeal will be over for me (one way or another) in 4 days.

Well, Hackett says to get to the rendezvous point. Meaning the whole damn fleet's meeting on planet jungle. Logic would say as much, anyways.
